Ten minutes from downtown Santa Cruz lies a lush city greenbelt with spectacular views overlooking town and Monterey Bay. Pogonip’s 640 acres and 8 miles of trail serve up prime Santa Cruz hiking, walking and running through redwood forest, oak woodland and remnants of coastal terrace prairie, plus some good old-fashioned, totally nonnative-yet-fetching-nonetheless grassland. The very limited mountain biking possibilities expanded with the June 2013 opening of the Emma McCrary Trail, which connects Santa Cruz mountain bikers and equestrians with bike trails at UCSC and Wilder Ranch State Park. Pogonip is so beloved by city residents that many people honor it by putting a “the” in front of its name, as in: “I go to the Pogonip daily to recover
Hi Annie, Great post describing the importance of global marketing research plan. I agree that global marketing research plan should understand the social and cultural difference, determine whether products can be exported to the foreign country, and research prices for similar products in the targeted country. The marketing team will have to determine if the product can be exported to the foreign country “as is” or it needs to be modified to be useful for the targeted consumers. The companies should evaluate changes need to be made to the packaging and labels of the product and determine if it would be appealing the target consumer. Another fundamental difference could be language, therefore marketing team should accurately translate the

In class we have been talking about assimilation and how it affects the lives of others along with the people around them. Literature is one of the many sources we have that gives us insight into the hardships immigrants face when moving to a new place. Three compositions that have allowed us to challenge our knowledge on immigration are, The Dew Breaker, written by Edwidge Danticat, Dothead written by Amit Majmudar, and A Quilt of Country written by Anna Quindlen. All three types of writing share the stories of immigrants moving from one place to another and the challenges they face throughout their journey. Immigrants try their best to acclimate to their new environment, even if that means assimilating to a whole new culture.
Cross-country is a tough sport- it requires a lot of endurance, practice, and strength. I remember going to my first high school practice as a freshman; I was scared that I would not be able to handle the increased mileage that varsity runs, and talked to the captain about it before we started stretching. She eased my worries, telling me that the practices always sounded more difficult than they were, and then that the other runners were dreading the first practice as well. It made me feel better to know that everyone else felt the same as me, and I was able to relax. Throughout the rest of the season, she pushed me to do my best in every practice and meet, which greatly improved my times. I looked up to her as a captain, and, as a result, looked up to
In August 4th, 1914, Britain declared war on Germany if they did not withdraw their troops from Belgium. At the time, Britain controlled the foreign policies of its dominions. Because of this, it resulted in dragging Canada to fighting this war. Canada had no say whether if they didn’t want to fight in this war. When news broke out that a war would happen between Britain and Germany, many people had a patriotic sense to protect their mother country, and in a month more than 30,000 people signed up for this war. Even Wilfred Laurier, the former prime minister pledged his support to this cause, and stated, “all Canadians are behind the Mother Country”.
One can imagine that every country is different with their own set of beliefs. Chile and Kuwait are in total different parts of the world but they both have similarities. In Isabel Allende’s My Invented Country and Randa Jarrar’s A Map of Home the authors focus on the road map of their childhood. Allende explains the basics of her culture, while Jarrar does too through the character of Nidali. Both women have seen and are aware that women do not have the same power as a male.
The theme of Harper Lee’s, To Kill a Mockingbird is people should not judge others no matter who they are are what they have done. As shown in Table 6, 67.7% of informational tweets contained hashtags and 69.4% of promotional tweets contained hyperlinks. In order to manage the professional relationship with the public, NBA clubs were more likely to apply hashtags to their informational tweets and hyperlinks to their promotional tweets. Many NBA clubs sold tickets and derivative products online; therefore, they tended to direct their followers to their online stores using hyperlinks.
