In To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee. All the characters show courage in their own way, but Atticus, Mrs. Dubose and Boo Radley showed the most courage that stood out in the book. Atticus is the first character in the book that’s courage stood out. He didn’t want to take the Tom Robinson case, but he took it anyways. He was defending a black man that supposedly “ raped” Mayella Ewell. The townspeople didn’t appreciate that Atticus took the case and was defending a black man. But Atticus didn’t care about what they thought, he went on with the case not caring what everyone thought of him. Mrs. Dubose was trying to break her morphine addiction. She was going through a rough time trying to ease off of the addiction. She talked bad about Atticus
