The movie, Courageous is a faith-based movie that offers as a testament to what a strong Christian family should look like. One of the overarching themes of the movie was that a family that relied on the Lord throughout the good times, and the bad, is able to withstand the hardest trials of life. In the Bible in the book Matthew 7:24-29, Matthew is using an analogy, stating that a person who heeds the word of the Lord and follows His ways is like a wise man who builds his house on rock. Regardless of the storms that came, or the trials it was faced, the house stood firm. Matthew then states that a person who hears the word of the Lord, and chooses to not follow God is an unwise man who builds his house on the sand. When the storms hit the house built on sand, it quickly crumbled with a “large crash.” In the Courageous, the Mitchel family suffered the loss of their beloved daughter and sister. …show more content…

The Civil Rights movement was an intense and cruel time in America’s history. Violence was a serious problem, especially in the South, and lives were being lost as a result. With no solution visible in the near future, courage has become a necessary trait for all those fighting for their rights. Courage was an important part of the Civil Rights movement because African Americans needed to push past the fear of the possible outcomes from their civil disobedience, and to take the drastic measures it took to gain access to segregated services. Civil disobedience like marches, sit-ins, and freedom rides, was often met with violence and anger from white segregationists.
Courage does not always mean that someone stood up for themselves at school. Having courage can sometimes come with consequences, such as going to jail. There are many people in history who have had courage and changed the United States forever. Some of these people would have never been famous if it wasn’t for the bravery they had. These people are completely normal, but in reality, they are truly unexpected heroes with amazing bravery.
In “To Kill A Mockingbird’’ a novel by Harper Lee, the character I believe has the most courage and the best example of courageous is the man Atticus Finch. He goes into court knowing that the chances of him losing are high, yet he does it anyway. This court case causes a lot of tension racially and personally for atticus. It changes the views of everyone in the town since they realize that Atticus is trying his hardest to get this man Tom Robinson charged as not guilty with the rape of Mayella Ewell.
There were many great characters in To Kill A Mockingbird but, the greatest of the characters were scout. Scout was very curious she showed her curiosity a lot in this book. Scout was also a tomboy she hung out with boys and played rough a lot. Scout was also very courageous she always did what other people didn't and she stood up for the ones she cared about. In all these ways shows why scout is a tomboy, courageous and curious.

Courage, a beneficial feeling that can help people conquer fears, develop people into extraordinary leaders, help shape their future and inspire those around them. However, a lot of us don’t consider ourselves courageous. Thomas Jefferson said, “A man with courage is a majority.” So it seems like having courage is really good for you, yet we can’t always have it. Even if it can change our lives and inspire others, how come we can’t always be courageous? However, what we should ask is what does that quote mean and imply, what are times when courage is shown and that quote applies, and how important is courage and how it can change your life?
Thinking back on the many decisions, and choices that I have made in my life. A lot of the choices involved several different individuals throughout my social circle. I have come to realize that a few of those decisions turned out good, and others not so good. Regardless of the outcome, opinions were formed by those around me. Everything about myself as a person has come together to form views, opinions, and perspectives about me in my own and in other people’s eyes. Everyone has a word to describe me, even myself.
