Journal 2 The Covenants and My Personal Journey
Reflection of the seven Biblical covenants reveal God's love for His people and contain many relevant aspects to my personal journey and perspective today. Most apparent is the relevance of the New Covenant, displaying God's grace through the gift of salvation and forgiveness for our sins, which has been a huge aspect that guides me throughout my entire life. The New Covenant provides us with the opportunity to know Jesus, obey God, and live for eternity with God. When examining the covenants God made with His people, His love is seen in the way He adapts them from the Edenic covenant through the New Covenant, covering us with grace when we, as a people, did not hold up our end of the covenants.
The Davidic, Adamic, and Abrahamic Covenants all promise the Messiah coming to fulfill the Law of the Profits and in the end smash Satan's head and triumph over him. The Noah Covenant reminds us that sin will not go unnoticed forever, but God will never again flood the earth to destroy all life on earth. Personally, these Covenants have helped guide me in my life promising Jesus, and reminding us that ultimately God will judge our sin. The Covenants express God's desire for us to personally know and obey Him

My personal journey has not been a perfect one, but throughout my journey I have always known God deep down in my heart and known his desires for my life in my heart since I can remember, completely shaping my journey and myself as a person. Another shaping aspect of the covenants has been His grace and mercy throughout, offering blessings for obeying and curses for disobeying, but always loving and guiding me as I move throughout my journey in
When we think of covenants, we are reminded of our own that we make with our Heavenly Father. We promise to keep His commandments and He promises us blessings. These are the most important covenants, as they help us fulfill the measure of our creation. National covenants
Furthermore, the history of the covenants is gone into in more depth. He continues with the story of Cain giving into the deadly sin of envy on his way to kill his own brother. God declared that Noah is also a major covenant and that
Throughout the Old Testament I can see how humanity is drawn forward from the covenant of creation to the events concerning Jesus Christ. God connects with humankind through covenants which outline the plan of God. The Abrahamic covenant is the first covenant to show God’s unconditional love toward humankind. The Mosaic covenant is a conditional covenant that outlines the laws that we must live our lives by. The Messianic
In both covenants, one of the crucial pieces stated is the fact that the Israelites are Yahweh’s chosen people. In the Sinai covenant it states “The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he has sworn to you…” (Deut. 28:9) The Royal covenant also talks about Yahweh’s people, in 2nd Samuel, 7:10 it states “And I will appoint a place for my people Israel…”. In the royal covenant David prays to Yahweh, saying “And you established your people Israel for yourself to be your people forever…” (2 Sam 7:24). Another similarity between the two covenants is the fact that they both speak of blessing and the benefits of obeying Yahweh. The Sinai covenant states “If you will only obey the LORD your God, by diligently observing all his commandments…. the LORD your God will set you high above the nations of the earth” (Deut. 28:1). The next verses go on to list blessing that come from obeying Yahweh. In the Royal covenant it talks of Yahweh saving his people from their enemies (2 Sam 7:11) and that He will make them a great name (2 Sam
The everlasting covenant spoken of in the book of Isaiah is fulfilled in New Testament passage and confirms that God has and will continue to keep His covenant. John 14:27 shows that Jesus gave His peace to the world. Jesus is our peace (NIV, Ephesians 2:13-18). Romans 6:23 say that the wages of sin is
Biblical covenant is “legal term denoting a formal and legally binding declaration of benefits to be given by one party to another, with or without conditions attached.” (Arnold) Biblical covenant is a part of God holy plan and they reveal enteral plan. Each covenant plays a part of God plan of salvation. The Mosaic covenant showed that being saved by works was impossible and reveals God’s Holy character the need of a savior. “The Mosaic Covenant was like the vassal treaties of the ancient Near East, where a more powerful king entered into a relationship with a lesser king.” Knowing the Bible)
The Mosaic/Sinai Covenant relate to the other covenant once again through God promises that he will be with Israel by protecting them from any harm. All the Israelites need to do is obey God and he will make them a kingdom of peace and a holy nation. This covenant was a conditional pledge to Israel. The main aspects of the Davidic Covenant are that God promise David that he would establish a kingdom through David descendants.
Covenant is an agreement of faithfulness between G-d and his people and the central theme of Judaism. The agreement is that followers of G-d will believe in G-d and heed his words and He will love and support his followers unconditionally. This concept is illustrated in Genesis, Abraham worshipped G-d and followed his word and in return
Theologically, a covenant (used of relations between God and man) denotes a gracious undertaking entered into by God for the benefit and blessing of humanity and specifically of those who by faith receive the promises and commit themselves to the obligation which this undertaking involves. The Abrahamic Covenant is an unconditional covenant. God made
Covenant is promise or contract between two parties with certain set of conditions. Sometimes one of the parties involved could be stronger than the other. For example, in the case of the covenant between God and Israel, or other that, an agreement can be between two people at the same position or level. The covenants can be either conditional or unconditional. In this essay, I will discuss the use of Covenant as a way that people relate with God as well as the way people relate among themselves through Covenants.
There are three main covenants in the Old Testament. The first covenant is the Abrahamic Covenant. God promised Abraham that he would be the father of a great nation (Genesis 12:2). God also promised him the land of Canaan (Genesis 12:7; 17:8), He
Seven covenants, one is the best, and 6 are from the same time era. So which is the best? Or you might ask what is a covenant? The first is about the first two people, the second about Noahs arc, then the third is about land. Then the fifth is the Palestinian which is connected to the fourth which is about Moses who had an important job to save his people, when the fifth is about David and us becoming Gods Children. These are all happen B.C. and these are where God makes his law, which is that we as catholic, who believe in Him shall respect the earth, as well as every living thing on it. This is said in Exodus 19:5 “obey my voice to keep this covenant.” The new covenant is the best covenant in the bible because it is about Jesus, as well it is about how God sacrificed Jesus for our freedom, which then made our death the way that will completely free us of sin.
A covenant is an important agreement or promise. The Covenant of Grace states that God approached mankind, not the other way around and all mankind had to do was accept this covenant of grace. This allowed mankind, as sinful as they were, the chance to return to God.
many times in different texts. Some scholars my say that the word covenants is hard to find a true meaning. You will hear the word covenant throughout the Old Testament. I think sometimes when we hear the word covenant only one or two covenants come to mind. There are many covenants throughout the Bible. I will attempt to define and explain five covenants. These five covenants are: Noahic Covenant, Abrahamic Covenant, Mosaic Covenant, Davidic Covenant and the Fifth Covenant or the (New Covenant). In these particular covenants we will find the promises God made with his people. In this paper I will attempted to answer questions which of these
These are promises that God secured between himself and his people. For example, Genesis one uncovers a covenant with Adam and continues further with covenants with Noah, Abraham, Moses, Israel and a renewal with the new generation of God’s chosen people in Deuteronomy.
