Although it is supportive, he still doesn’t fit in and he doesn’t act like the other gang members, he isn’t tough and scary like them, he is much more vulnerable. Ponyboy and Johnny are both similar in the sense that they aren’t like the rest. Towards the end of the book, Ponyboy threatens a bunch of Socs and Two-Bit warns him by telling him, “Ponyboy, listen, don’t get tough. You’re not like the rest of us and don’t try to be…(171)” This serves as the conclusion of Ponyboy’s quest. When he realizes that he doesn’t need to act like the other greasers and that he can just be himself. Two-Bit helps Ponyboy realize that although he is different he still belongs with his friends and family, and that he doesn’t need to act a certain way or think a certain way to be part of the community. Therefore, the biggest factor in influencing Ponyboy’s identity, is his quest to find where he belongs and throughout the book he finds the answer by realizing that
Ponyboy is 14 years old and is the youngest member of the Greaser gang or otherwise known as the poor kids on the east side of town. Due to the fact that he is a Greaser many people had developed a biased view on him, resulting in him facing prejudice
The movie comes to an end and the group decides to walk over to Two-Bit's house to get his car to take the girls home. Two-Bit and Marcia are continuing to get along, and as they walk Ponyboy and Cherry amaze themselves as they divulge insights as confidants. Cherry shares her philosophy on what separates the two gangs — not only money but passion as well. The Socs lack strong emotions; they are cool almost to the point of not feeling. Ponyboy is amazed, though, at how similar the two gangs really are. Pony boy is confused on why there was ever a wall between the two gangs, because they are both drastically similar. Ponyboy's character continues to grow as his perspective changes, and he realizes the many similarities that he and Cherry share.
In the first place, Johnny came from an abusive home, where his parents were always beating him. He was always crying or not very happy and you could tell because of his darker skin than the other boys. Dally came from a New York and was in jail when he was just 10 years old. Darry is Ponyboy and Sodapop oldest brother. Pony was the youngest between his 2 brothers and Sodapop was the middle child and Steve was his best friend. The Difference See now there is this kid named Ponyboy and he is different than the rest of The Greasers. The Greasers are a gang of people who like to do bad things and people look at them that way as bad people. Ponyboy is different from the rest of
People should stop judging a book by its cover. Most people think that all greasers want to do it’s start trouble but that is not true. These greasers are great people that should not have to be judge everyday by the people who do not know them. Me and Ponyboy share a lot of the same characteristics. We are similar in many different ways. Some ways are good and some ways may not be so good. He is a nice person, he is smart in school, but sometimes doesn’t think properly out of school which leads him into trouble. Out of all of the characters in “The Outsiders”, I can relate most to ponyboy. If I knew Ponyboy in person, I would definitely be in his clique and I would fit right in.
Encryption in the book Blown to Bits by Hal Abelson, Ken Ledeen, and Harry Lewis is a brief recap of what happened before privacy became significant for people around the world. The industry and technological advancements for encryption began with the Egyptians who ciphered their language in Hieroglyphics around 2000 years ago. This creation led to a problematic industry in the Information Age because of hackers abusing privacy. Though the fraudulent consequences of privacy are not protected by any amendment limitless resistance to being exposed to personal information has been growing ever since the beginning of security standards. What happened on September 11th, 2001 was not merely an inevitable catastrophe because the FBI warned the US Government and president years before 911 occurred. Encryption being a safety requirement in our era is the encoding of the data transferring through communicative means. Anyone can have access to the data, however, there is a password when trying to steal or intercept someone 's information. The best way to encode your translation of personal information between two or more people is by verbal communication through whispers and speaking softly. Regulating encryption has always been a request from the NSA and the FBI because of exchanging violent plans or initiatives to seek perilous outcomes. The government disrupts personal privacy because the problem has occurred around 200 years later and was not protected by the Founding Fathers or
The oldest brother of Ponyboy is Darry, a twenty-year-old roofer who Ponyboy describes as someone who is “hard and firm and rarely grins at all,” in comparison to Soda (page 2). Then there is Johnny, who is the second-youngest greaser in their gang, besides Ponyboy. Johnny is “smaller than the rest, with a slight build. He had big black eyes in a dark tanned face; his hair was jet-black and heavily greased and combed to the side, but it was so long that it fell in shaggy bangs across his forehead. He had a nervous, suspicious look in his eyes… He was the gang’s pet, everyone’s kid brother.” (Pages 11-12)
Hinton has demonstrated the strong, family-like relationship between the Greaser gang. Ponyboy, the main character in the novel, who feels as though “[the gang are] almost as close as brothers.” This continues as he describes the characters furthermore, like Johnny who is another member of the Greaser gang.
This story is told from the point of view of Ponyboy Curtis, a Greaser. Greasers are the people on the east side of town. JD’s Socs are the people on the west side of town, short for the Socials they’re the rich kids. Ponyboy is raised by Danny his oldest brother, and Soda, his other brother. They’re part of a gang with four other members. Two-Bit Matthews, who’s real none is Keith Dallas Winston, Johnny Cade, and Steve Randle are all part of the gang. One day on the way home form the movies Ponyboy is beat up by a group of Soc, but the gang quickly comes to his rescue. This is not unusual greasers get beat up by Socs all the time. Johnny got beat up so bad one time he still jumps at the smallest things he even cried which takes a lot especially
