Keith “Two-bit” Matthews is the second oldest greaser in the gang he is funny wise-cracking and always has to get his two-bits in.Two bit is 18 and a half and still a junior in high school,no one understood why he liked school he just went for kicks.Two-bit enjoys shoplifting, showing off his black handled switchblade,he likes to fight and for some reason school although he never learned anything. His assignment in the book was to provide comic relief for everyone else and although he did not impact the plot directly he was still a part of
It.
Two-bit unlike the other greasers come from a decent family he has a mother and a father and also a sister, according to Ponyboy his mother shares the same humor as he does.Two-bit is friend with
She realizes that Ponyboy is not like other Greasers such as Dally. This develops their friendship over the course of the novel because they have so much in common. Immediately after she encounters Dally, she says to Ponyboy “What’s a nice, smart kid like you running around with trash like that for?” (Hinton 23). Ponyboy is the exact opposite of how Greasers are supposed to appear.
This part talks about who the Greasers and the Soc’s are, and what they do. The Greaser gang members are Johnny who comes from an abusive home, where his parents are always beating him, Dally came from New York and was in jail when he was 10, Darry is Ponyboy and Sodapop’s oldest brother, Ponyboy is the youngest between his 2 brothers.Sodapop is the middle child in his family, Steve is Sodapop’s best friend, Two-Bit is always getting drunk and always has energy. Those are the Greaser gang members.
Ponyboy’s parents died 8 months before the book. Ponyboy is dynamic. Johnny is Ponyboy’s best friend, he is smaller than the rest of the gang, but he has a slight build. Johnny has big, black eyes and a dark tanned face. His hair is jet black and it is heavily greased and combed to the side.
He meets Cherry, a Soc, whom he gets along with quite well because, they understood each other when it came to the different social classes. Cherry told Ponyboy that the greasers “think the Socs have it made. The rich kids, the West-side Socs.” She informs Ponyboy that “it may come as a surprise” that Socs “have troubles” greasers have “never even heard of.” She looks at Ponyboy straight in the eye and tells him “things are rough all over.”(Page 31). Cherry is a broad-minded character, for she saw both sides of the social levels, moreover, understood the troubles Ponyboy and his gang had faced because of the Socs. She wants the rivalry to end, and wants to do whatever is required to balance the power between the Socs and greasers. Although the obstacles were different, because of her, Ponyboy, consequently, starts realizing that Socs face difficulties as well. At this point of the novel, Ponyboy had second thoughts on how he felt about the Socs. Sure, they were malicious, but that wasn’t the only part of them-they crossed hurdles just like everyone
In the first place, Johnny came from an abusive home, where his parents were always beating him. He was always crying or not very happy and you could tell because of his darker skin than the other boys. Dally came from a New York and was in jail when he was just 10 years old. Darry is Ponyboy and Sodapop oldest brother. Pony was the youngest between his 2 brothers and Sodapop was the middle child and Steve was his best friend. Lastly, Two-Bit was still as drunk and full of energy even before the gang started.
Ponyboy describes himself as having “light-brown, almost-red hair and greenish-gray eyes.” He also has extensive hair length, is a greaser, and is four-teen years of age. He supposedly prefers to “lone” most activities. Ponyboy has two older siblings: Sodapop, who is six-teen going on seven-teen years of age, has dark-golden hair, claims reading books is of innocence to him, and makes no effort to mature. Secondly, Darrel, often referred to as “Darry”, strenuously works, is six-foot two, and is crude with Ponyboy without spite intention.
Encryption in the book Blown to Bits by Hal Abelson, Ken Ledeen, and Harry Lewis is a brief recap of what happened before privacy became significant for people around the world. The industry and technological advancements for encryption began with the Egyptians who ciphered their language in Hieroglyphics around 2000 years ago. This creation led to a problematic industry in the Information Age because of hackers abusing privacy. Though the fraudulent consequences of privacy are not protected by any amendment limitless resistance to being exposed to personal information has been growing ever since the beginning of security standards. What happened on September 11th, 2001 was not merely an inevitable catastrophe because the FBI warned the US Government and president years before 911 occurred. Encryption being a safety requirement in our era is the encoding of the data transferring through communicative means. Anyone can have access to the data, however, there is a password when trying to steal or intercept someone 's information. The best way to encode your translation of personal information between two or more people is by verbal communication through whispers and speaking softly. Regulating encryption has always been a request from the NSA and the FBI because of exchanging violent plans or initiatives to seek perilous outcomes. The government disrupts personal privacy because the problem has occurred around 200 years later and was not protected by the Founding Fathers or
People should stop judging a book by its cover. Most people think that all greasers want to do it’s start trouble but that is not true. These greasers are great people that should not have to be judge everyday by the people who do not know them. Me and Ponyboy share a lot of the same characteristics. We are similar in many different ways. Some ways are good and some ways may not be so good. He is a nice person, he is smart in school, but sometimes doesn’t think properly out of school which leads him into trouble. Out of all of the characters in “The Outsiders”, I can relate most to ponyboy. If I knew Ponyboy in person, I would definitely be in his clique and I would fit right in.
Johnny Cade had a really bad home life. Hie Father Mr.Cade, abusive and his Mother Mrs.Cade pretended that he never existed. Therefore, the gang was the closest thing to a family he had. Ponyboy,Dally,Two-Bit,Soda,Darry,and Steve, all the members of the gang, The Greasers, were the brothers that he never had and, the best friends that a boy could ask
As American-British novelist Mark Lawrence once said, “We’re built of contradictions, all of us. It’s those opposing forces that give us strength, like an arch, each block pressing the next”. The aforementioned contradictions are what lead to conflicts, and in turn growth and acceptance. Nathaniel Hawthorne, in his revolutionary classic The Scarlet Letter, delves into the conflicts that the brave, yet infamous Hester Prynne has to overcome. As Hawthorne unfolds the unfortunate tragedy of Hester and her mysterious lover, the battles Hester has to face are multiple external and internal stimuli that bring about the growth of Hester as a character. The onerous obstacles that Hester must face through her life wear her out mentally, but only then can she truly grow and accept who she is.
Ponyboy is a greaser, this is because he fits the characteristics of a greaser. For example, all the greasers have long greasy hair, pony has that. “Besides I look better with long greasy hair.” (2). This quote means that Ponyboy is a greaser, and that he looks better with long greasy hair. Another reason that ponyboy is that he has a small to little education, Ponyboy gets average to good grades at school and some other greaser did not even finish school.
Ponyboy does not quite believe he fits the "greaser" stereotype. He has the looks of a greaser, but does not do all the actions greasers do. He is more “school-smart” and not “street-smart” which greasers are all stereotyped as “street-smart. Ponyboy is young for the people in his gang and are a lot smarter than most of the greaser. He is also in school unlike most of the gang members.
Jerry Wood - The teacher who accompanies Ponyboy to the hospital after Ponyboy saves the children from the fire. Though an adult and a member of mainstream society, Jerry judges the greasers on their merits instead of automatically branding them juvenile delinquents.
Ernest Hemingway was one of the most influential writers of the 20th Century. Although he is famous for his contributions to the literary community, he remains an iconic figure because of his life off of the page.
Lying, it’s everywhere. Almost 60% of most adults can’t go ten minutes without telling a lie. Some people lie to protect other people, while others lie to benefit themselves like maintaining the perfect image they care so much about. However, lying is completely unjustified unless you’re protecting yourself or someone else from danger. This idea can be further proven with evidence from a variety of articles.
