The most influential person in my life would be my uncle, Craig Terrill, as he has opened my eyes to the opportunities life can give you even if you grow up in a small town, as he and I both did, in Lebanon, Indiana. My uncle has the privilege to say he has accomplished his childhood dream of being a professional football player. While in high school, he was a four-year varsity starter for Lebanon High School’s football team. When Craig was playing at Lebanon he happened to be player of the only football team in Lebanon High School that has won a sectional championship. He was always the player who practiced on days the team had off, or he was the player who stayed after practice; he would regularly go to the weight room and train. All of this
There have been many influential people in our world. One influential person is Ray Lewis . One of the things this person is famous for is being a great football player.
I owe much to youth coaches like Pat who taught me the game and improved my skills. Pat helped me develop and sustain an interest in the game and encouraged me to follow my dreams. As an adult , I have a strong appreciation of what Pat did for me at that time and his inspiration moved me down a career path that has seen me play
Tim Tebow is one of the most inspirational active sports players to younger kids and even adults. Tim Tebow has overcome many challenges in his life, he won the national championship in football at University of Florida as quarterback. He later entered the draft and was picked by the Denver Broncos in the first round and twenty- fifth pick. When Tim Tebow joined the league it was not for him, he had only bad games situations we usually go deep down to find talents that we never knew we had. We tend to rise to the occasion and complete tasks that need to be done by us because we are the bravest to do it. I do agree with this specific prompt because there have been times where I have had to rise above and be the bigger man to complete challenges. There are also many famous figures such as: Tim Tebow, my great uncle, and Steve Jobs. These people in one way or another have started with nothing and made millions and billions. They have all found talents that they did not know they had. Their hidden talents have impacted families, fans, and the evolution of technology.
The person I admire is Jack Roosevelt “Jackie” Robinson. He was the first African American to play major league baseball. The Brooklyn Dodgers picked him as their first baseman in 1947. He was the first pro-athlete in any sport to be honored. He achieved many first records in baseball history. He accomplished many things in his ten years of playing.
Walter Payton was a very important figure in football history because not only did he fight through his hard times in high school and college but he also remained same and sympathetic through his football career. He taught all of us that not everything is about winning; instead, you put all of your strength and faith into something that you love. Born on July 25, 1954 in a small town of Columbia, Mississippi; Walter was brought into this world by Peter and Alyne Payton to change football history in a tremendous way. Peter and Alyne were loving and hardworking parents; in fact, they sacrificed their jobs so that Walter and his siblings wouldn't remain alone. The Payton's weren't wealthy and rich but according to Walter, that made him appreciate life more as a kid. As a child, Walter was alwasy sympathetic although he really didn't get involved into sports until the first year of high school. He had two other siblings, Eddie and Pam Payton, whom he shared many memories with mostly outdoors; Walter admired his brother's athletic capacity and decided he would become involved in the football
In the story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell and the poem “Porphyria’s Lover” by Robert Browning, the authors use characterization and imagery to convey that the desire for power can drive man to psychotic actions.
He makes me the person I am today. He makes me a better student, player, person in Jeneral. He has made that I love and makes me feel like I’m invincible. He say’s “I was always told I was too small, not big enough, not fast enough, but I showed My teachers, coaches, and everyone around me how good I was and how i got where I am’’-ray lewis. That is my all time favorite quote!!!!!In football I am a communicator because I teach my players to show no pain, fear,or failer. we show all disipline and communication. We give 100 percent each time we step out on that field.I also show discipline and focus in school.I put pride an honor in every piece of work that is done bye me.Like I sayed I do everything with a purpose. I dont do a half job on anything. I always finish and turn in my work with pride no matter if its an A or F.I am unstoppable when you get me started. I put in the work to get the easy end out of it.Im not the kind of person that takes the easy way out,I challenge myself to limit and push myself to not give
Do you know anyone who has impacted history and the world by playing an everyday sport? This person is Jackie Robinson. Robinson changed baseball history by being the first African American baseball player who helped future generations of African Americans to do the same in all sports. As a tribute to her husband, Rachel Islum created a foundation to help kids with scholarships and mentoring (Jackie Robinson).
Timothy “Timmie” Brooks is one of the most influential people in my life. He has literally changed who I am as a person, and no one person has been able to do that over a span
There have been many monumental and influential experiences in my life, but the most impactful on my life would have to be acquiring the opportunity to start as a quarterback during my sophomore year of highschool. A quarterback is a player who is positioned behind the center, who directs a team’s offensive play. The quarterback is the leader of the football team. To be able to be a leader at a young age is a very valuable asset to have. I discovered at a young age that only because something does not appear to be good, does not mean that it can not become good.
An influential person for me was Frank A. Casey, my great-grandpa, but to me he was Pawpaw. He was a small-town preacher who
Mark Girouard strives to give the reader an in-depth look into the values and ethics of the upper and sometimes the middle classes during the Victorian Era. In his article, he begins by stating it would not be possible “to select one group as quintessentially Victorian,” and because the upper classes values differed so vastly, they could not be classified as only “upper class” (Girouard 49). For simplicity purposes, the “upper class” was then separated into three distinct categories to better help organize the values of the time period, in particular, they were as follows: “earnest Victorians, Victorian swells, and Victorian gentlemen” (Girouard 50). To be considered an earnest Victorian one would need to be serious, religious, and committed
One upon a time there was a man named Craig and he wasn’t happy with the way that his life was going so he decided that he was going to move far away by himself so one day . He moved out into the middle of Alaska he hunted and fished for his food but didn’t have any way of making money to get new things or replace the things that were old and broken so as he went to bed he heard a knock on the door and low and behold was the devil and Craig did not get scared because he wasn’t afraid of anything so he invited him in and the devil told him that he was lost and hungry Craig offered him some food and they got to talking and he was telling the devil that he had no money for new things and was wondering if the devil could help him out so the devil
Five years ago, I was a corporate trainer with plans to continue to my career in that area for the foreseeable future. I could not have envisioned the path that I am on back today in those days and my only goals were to be the best trainer I could be and perhaps move into training management. That all changed for me when I received a less-than-stellar mid-year review for reasons that felt very arbitrary and petty to me and still do today. That review changed my focus in almost a single instant. I suddenly knew I needed to leave training behind after eight years in the field. All of this set me on a path toward a communication degree and a new career.
For a lot of kids, it’s not until it’s all said and done, and they look back on it several years later, that they realize the difference the sport made in their lives. They are proud of playing the game. Have you ever met anybody who accomplished playing four years of high school football, and at the end of that run said, ‘Man, I wish I wouldn’t have played’? It doesn’t get said. Football players aren’t perfect. Nobody is. But millions of former players, one by one, can recount the life-altering principles they learned from football. They know the value of football is the values in football. That’s why high school football – and particularly high school coaches – play such a vital role in our society. Our football coaches are on the front lines of the battle for the hearts and minds of the boys in our society.
