Gideon made a look of disgust, and soon after the man was done throwing up he spat out the last of his bile and looked to Gideon. "That...my lad you are on Nassau!" He cackled and he took a drink of a bottle he had with him. Gideon backed away slightly. The man reeked of rum, fish, and other foul smelling things. "And who are you peasant...?" Gideon replied and covered his nose. "I'm Jack Rackham! You little piece of shite!" He growled and grabbed Gideon by his collar and pulled him close to his face. "I'm the great Calico Jack at that lad! Better watch who you speak too down here, especially when your obviously not from these lands!" For a drunk he was speaking pretty normal...
"One thing you should learn lad...is that you are on the Pirate Republic island the Brethren of the Coast. Leaders are Edward Thatch, Benjamin

"Walk with me." Aria replied walking past Gideon. "Why would I walk with you!? Give me a good reason!" Gideon demanded, Aria rolled her eyes again. "Would you rather walk with me, or Jack?" Gideon looked to Aria and then back to Jack, and he sighed and started to walk beside her. Aria grabbed his arm gently and Gideon felt small scratches on her palm. He looked up at where they was going, and he saw Aria leading him to what looked like a party. Gideon didn't really notice before, but there was torches that littered the streets. The flames danced with the wind blowing, it gave the island a golden-orange color. Gideon looked to Aria the golden color gave her light tan skin a bit of a deeper tan and her white hair was golden. "Like flames dancing off snow..." he mumbled and felt his head throb slightly and he hissed. "What's wrong?" Aria asked looking at him slightly. "Nothing...let me go already! I'm not a kid!" he grumbled and jerked his arm away. He and Aria were not at the edge of the party, men and woman were dancing, laughing, and drinking of
The forest had gone.... and the Witch looked much younger. Audette opened her eyes and had found herself upon a brow of white lilies. The shape of the shrouded old woman seemed changed. Having turned around, and opened her mantle to the tearing gusts, Meliza revealed to the young lady two streams of shinging blackness and smooth white flesh. Audette stopped in her tracks.
In Chapter 1 "A Writer 's Choices", of Andrea A. Lunsford 's book Easy Writer, she outlines the choices that writers need to prepare for in academic situations. Lunsford explains the differences between social and academic writing and that it is important for a writer to effortlessly transition from informal to formal writing conditions. Lunsford continues with informing writers of the expectations in academic writing. To write with authority, directness and clarity are necessary in any high-quality academic writing. The author claims that having these items is so vital that she even lists several strategies within the chapter to meet this goal. While, it is important to have a clear text Lunsford also tells writers to consider an assignment and the reasoning behind the task. Lunsford requests that writers analyze an assignment to better understand a professor 's expectation; so the writer will be successful with the intended project. Next Lunsford explains how to choose a topic for an essay; however, she claims it is best to let it choose you by picking a topic that interests the author. After selecting a topic, Lunsford goes on to help a writer focus the text of an essay to reach their targeted audience. Lunsford wrote a list of questions a writer can ask to ensure their ability to communicate effectively. Now Lunsford asks writers to take into account their stance and tone. Once a writer knows the position in which they wish to approach a topic; at that point the writer
Gideon Boissevain had always thought of Amsterdam as a home, not a warzone. When the Germans occupied Amsterdam, his family knew something wasn’t right. His parents were recent members of the Dutch Nazi party, but they quit after they saw how brutal the members behaved. After Gi and his brother began to work for the Dutch resistance, they knew they were in risky waters. They helped their parents hide the innocent and harmless Jews that the Nazis were after.
One day I woke up and there was nothing, no hustle and bustle though the house just silence. It was very odd for it being a school day for me and my brother. I just laid there waiting for something to happen, but nothing did. I decided to peek out my window to see if anything was weird and immediately I noticed a giant flash of light. I ran to my father's gun case and shattered the glass not even worrying about the cuts on my arm. I grabbed his 12 gauge and his 380.. I have had much experience with guns so I could properly defend myself. I looked around And yelled “Mom , Dad , Anyone?” there was no reply to my plead. But once I turned Around again there was a man. Torn up and battered like an abused
Laurel nodded her head when she heard that Zinda would be willing to aid her in her efforts of keeping the city running smoothly. “With that attitude I think Ryder will love you.” She stated with a small laugh, her head shook from side to side. “Even before the outbreak I always had a hard time sleeping.” She reached her right hand up and placed it against the back of her neck, rubbing at it. “So it really doesn’t bother me all that much.” She nodded her head. She knew what Zinda said was true, that she should try and sleep more but that seemed easier said than done. She really tried to sleep at night sleep just seemed to elude her, it was never there when she really need it. Like the night they got back from the Farmhouse, all she wanted to do was fall asleep and forget the whole events that had taken place there. Sadly that didn’t happen, she stayed up all night thinking about how she could have done thing differently, that she should have stayed with Kate.
The Lord sighed as he knelt down in front of the other. He took off his hood smiled so saccharinely at him. Steward’s face turned bright red as he stared at the most handsome male in the entire world.
I never knew the Smokies were so close to my grandparent’s retirement village. Every summer all the cousins jammed into Grandpa’s Ford for our jaunt up the mountains. But back then the hills had no name. They were recognized only by the pop of our ears and the pink silk trees bowing down to the highway. Since those days I have grown partial to any patch of grass with “National Park” tacked to its title. Today the mimosas still tossed their petals to traffic, and the truck remembered its ever-present perfume of damp golden retriever. But today we were going to The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. “Cade’s Cove, next left,” the road sign read, and two bikes bumped along on the car hitch.
If he had been human, everything would have been easier. Hal's life would have been so much better; he wouldn't have been forced to fight, or be controlled by the code in his head. He would have grown into a different, maybe better person. But then, they would still be stuck in the compound, still there when the bots had malfunctioned, and they may have not even escaped. Perhaps they would have died an untimely death and not have escaped into the wastes and would be left to rot in the desecrated compound, forgotten, and the only sign they were there were their desecrated skeletons, and even those would be ground away by the sands of time until they eventually became nothing. It was a pity that they would meet that fate regardless; Dirk would
As the dust settled in the barn following Manley’s departure, a sick reality fell upon Hulga’s mind: she had to find a way to exit the barn with only one leg to work with. She began brainstorming ideas for her escape, but none seemed reasonable considering the circumstances. After hours of contemplation, she decided that the safest option was to spend the night in the barn and make her flight the following day.
Weeks later, as Snowman stares into the familiar bright green eyes, he thinks back to what led him here, forgetting the fact that in a few moments, his whole world will be turned upside down.
A fortnight passed, and Percy and his siblings spent extra time with Will. After coming close to losing him, they all got along better than ever.
I was here I was walking threw the amazing wooden doors into the most fantastic park. I was standing on the floors of the GREAT WOLF LODGE. I was there with Amanda, Lyla, Calista, and Kira. We all quickly walked over to the check in desk so that we could get our wristbands and bust over to the water park. There were about one, two, three, four five people standing in front of us. While we were standing in line there was an amazing window that was huge and we could see every person and every ride in the park. We saw one of the biggest slides there we say the most crazy slide it was called HOWLIN TORNADO. We finally got to the front of the line and we were ready to get our wristbands on. The manager slipped on a teal waterproof wristband the said “GREAT WOLF LODGE”
It was August 1915, I commanded the 3rd division consisting of 3 brigade; the 7th, 8th and 9th. All ready to attack the western front. On the very north end of our trench, I have my 7th battalion and on the south end I had my 8th and 9th brigade. For the 7th brigade, I would have them enter the NorthEast forest by day, hidden by the shrubbery but still having daylight I am hoping my men can make it halfway through the forest before it hits nightfall. Once nightfall comes my men would use the night to move out into the farm near by and take cover by that fence. Once they have made it to that fence the 7th battalion shall, if they see necessary, to call in an artillery barrage to help them break a hole in the far north end of the Germans trenches
A child runs inside a small classroom gathering his thoughts wondering what he saw. Bewildered by what he had just seen he had become so frightened he hadn’t realized his hands were shaking. Collecting his thoughts he remembered that he heard a banging on a door someone opened it and a man with patches of flesh missing ran up and bit the student who opened the door. Dumbfound by the whole experience he began barricading the door shut and looking for something to defend himself with. Easily finding a meter stick as he entered a mathematics classroom he began sharpening it scared stiff the entire time. Finally he felt safe although he could hear running and screaming every second coming from outside the doors. Getting up he finally had the strength
“I was wondering Mrs. Evans, if you don’t mind telling. How has it been for you since, uhm, since Mr. Evans’ uhm, departure. Do you know what really happened? Why there was a fight?”
