Standing on the corner of Glen Avenue, Kate felt that she was quite alone in a sense. The universe and time stood static. As she took in the frightening implications of Mr. Jacks disappearing into thin air, his seasoned bulldog was attempting to detect any remaining scent of his missing owner. Yet to no avail, giving up, he sidled up to Kate and lay down at Her feet. Thankfully, uncle Thomas kept his word that he would come quickly. Kate felt relief as he pulled up to the corner in his environmentally conscious hybrid and hastily motioned Kate to get in. "Kate, you cannot envision how euphoric I am to see you!" "Is that your canine?" her uncle inquired. "No uncle Thomas." Kate answered "He is my coach's bulldog." "Speaking of your coach," …show more content…
At the same time, both Kate and the bulldog were valiantly trying to keep up with her uncle as they entered into the mushroom shaped structure where he meticulously slid open doors with fingertip and voice recognition technology. Hastening along, the massive empty halls they passed numerous signs depicting the familiar no animals allowed, Kate chuckled to herself, apparently her uncle did not mind the well behaved bulldog tagging along. Presently, they entered the room that Kate had become enthralled with when she visited the observatory several years ago. When they returned home, she begged her parents incessantly for a moon room of her …show more content…
Then again, Kate could also envision managing a chain of hovering, Healing Hotel chains around the world. From here on in, she had a new set of goals to dream of. First and foremost, to find Mr. Jacks and the others. Rounding the corner to locate the unhappy bulldog, Kate stopped dead in her tracks to figure out why he was barking so repeatedly. Showing on a small television screen was a larger than life Mr. Jacks, speaking to a reporter in a live interview. Located in the background, she picked out many other recognizable faces from the hanger. Looking up, through the open roof of the observatory she really could thank her lucky stars, and for Kate the first part of her dream had just come
The Alien is barley seen but is extremely terrifying. It is a good practical effect in that way. Every room holds a potential threat of attack. The first time this occurs, the medical room is entered and we have a low-angle shot. The first thing that comes to mind would be that it's on the ground, as we saw in Forbidden planet with a high-angle shot from the monsters prospective. This threw me off until the eye-level shot with Ripley as the corps falls from the cords above. All of this, to keep your attention on if the danger is around every corner and dark space.
Jacks had been eavesdropping on the two young ladies, and he wished to make them feel better. “Hello,” he smiled warmly as he walked up to Kate and Darby, “Kate, there are still many people stuck inside that overcrowded airplane, and I want you to help me rescue the other trapped people.” He immediately saw a change in Kate’s face. Kate was someone who needed action and constant movement to stay positive, and Mr. Jacks knew this was just the right thing to help her. “Come on, we need to get the others out.” he continued, “Kate, I want you to come with me, and Darby,” Mr. Jacks turned to Darby, “I want you to stay out here with my dog. If we don’t come out in ten minutes, find a mirror and come in after us. So will you two join me?”
I, half-dead with thirst, came upon a silver Pitcher which had once been full of water; but when I put my beak into the mouth of the silver Pitcher I found that only very little water was left in it, and that I could not reach far enough down to get at it. I tried, and I tried, but at last had to give up in despair. Then a thought came to him, and I took a pebble and dropped it into the silver Pitcher. Then I took another pebble and dropped it into the silver Pitcher. Then I took another pebble and dropped that into the Pitcher. Then I took another pebble and dropped that into
James is completely alone on the open road. Everyone in his life is gone: his parents, wife, and siblings. He picks up a picture of Thomas, his brother and best friend, admiring his curly hair and warm smile and bright eyes. Near him, James felt like a kid, like a dog ready to play with its friends. Five years ago, Thomas walked home from the supermarket when a flashy car exploded out of the corner and knocked him over, never getting him on his feet again. A part of James also never got back up that day, or any day after the incident for
Summary: Alex had only ever known Michael as the mysterious man who’d protected him from a few bullies, gifting him with a small knife and the promise of teaching Alex to use it, before vanishing. Never to be seen again.
“And just where do you think you’re going?” a deep voice said, followed by a loud bark. Kate quickly turned egger to see Mr. Jacks, his adorable little bulldog, Charlie, and her best friend Darby. Darby was the same size as Kate even though she swears she’s a half an inch taller. She had short brown hair and brown eyes, unlike Kate, who had blue eye, long caramel hair and was tanner. Mr. Jacks was tall, and had brown eyes, and brownish, greyish hair. He wore a navy blue suit from which he was preparing for a business trip the day of the crash. His furry companion, Charlie was an English bulldog with white fur with brown spots. “What’s wrong with you? Are you ok? You could have vanished! And we would never know what happened to you. Just like
I should start with some background information. Hi, Reynold Calaber, at your service. I'm a Junior at Springside High. I’m 17 years old. Springside is a small little town in Texas. We are about 2 minutes from Dallas. My mother, Shanice, works at McDonald's and my father, Marquis, works at Wendy’s. My parents are pretty chill. They let me take their money for the vending machine at school. Everyday I get a pack of skittles to fuel my brain. My sister, Diamond. She is an angel in the form of a human. Let’s cut to the good stuff

I watched the operation on my terminal as I tried my best to remain calm. After each water pod carrying James and his people docked on the Lancer and I was given the sign that all of them were safe, I felt relieved. With such large containers without life supporting equipment and personal supplies in them, there wasn’t need of many water pods to get James and his people on board. Once the pods were emptied, the cleaning program took over and sanitized every square inch of the container. Once that was completed, it started filling up with the Black. It was going to take several minutes to fill just one, but there wasn’t a faster and quieter way to let the captain show his regret of how he has behaved. Now if the good old captain hadn’t
Aw, is the wittle 'chosen one' not being tweated faiwly? He mocked to himself. What a weakling you are, Skywalker.
Incense mixed with the cool evening breeze that washed through the open villa, crowded with party goers of high status. Local merchants, nobility, politicians and the like all gathered at House Idonea that the regions most popular lanista hosted. Oiled, bronze skinned gladiators lined the walls for perusal and to engage in playful bouts of combat while scantily clad slaves sauntered around the various rooms offering food and drink, and catering to other needs of the guests.
The bar had an upbeat vibe to it. It wasn’t the high end bar where you could pay to get your ass kissed and your feet rubbed, but at least you didn’t have to worry about walking outside and getting robbed or stabbed on your way home. It was a fairly unremarkable place, a plain black building, a neon sign outside the only hint to the place being able to serve alcohol. Most meandered around, drinking and talking, with the occasional dance when a rather catchy song found it’s way onto the less than stellar sound system.
I had just been executed by the gods for breaking the celestial law. Honestly , it was a thrill to die! I won't say I liked it but I won't say that I disliked it. By the way , I may not have disliked it but that doesn't mean I'm a masochist. As I say that , I think back to the times I had been in pain several times. Okay , maybe I was a tiny bit of a masochist but don't judge. Its rude to judge someone based on their personalities you know. Now , I should have been sent to the void or limbo as most people call it. It was a place where people would be sent to repent their sins in the never ending darkness. Most would go mad and some would become enlightened but my stay here was temporary.
I ride across the rough, bumpy sidewalk as I start to see where we’re going. The M hangs high above the ground as I approach the building racing my friends on our scooters. I open the door and let the air rush over my face and ears. I walk over to the line of people and wait to order. I look over and see someone looking at us. It was a man wearing a black and red shirt, black hair, ears pierced, and a tag that reads McDonalds manager. He looks mean, I think to myself.
I have just arrived to the Huberman’s house and I could not feel more relieved but at the same time alone. Though, I am not entirely alone. I was put in the vacant bed in Hans’s daughter's room and although she is in the bed across the room, I feel alone, surrounded by the darkness; darkness of which I am scared of. I am scared that the Führer has sent his soldiers of darkness after me. What if they know I am here? What if they are waiting for me to make a mistake?
