Game seven of the World Series, bottom of the ninth inning. I will always regret it. The series was tied 3-3 so whoever won next game, won it all.
“Flash, come here for a minute,” coach said opening his office door.
Usually when the coach singles you out to talk in his office, it’s not a good thing.
“I know you’re being talked about as being one of the fastest players ever to play the game but don’t let it all get to your head,’’ he said putting his arm on my shoulder.
“Oh, I know coach, never let media get to your head just like you told me,” I said laughing with coach. My dad and coach played reverse roles, my dad always taught me how to play the game and coach always gave substantial life advice. I liked it that way. Coach was my college …show more content…

Sound good?”
“How about you worry about getting the game seven win? Something you couldn’t do game three.”
“Get out of here,” Robinson said, we both chuckled. “Don’t you have kids to pick up or something?”
“Not tonight, we have that team dinner tonight at Club A Steakhouse remember?”
“I almost forgot about that not gonna lie. Alright I’ll see you tonight.”

“I’d rather spend time with you guys instead of doing this,” I said peering behind the leather seat.
“But your team is like your family daddy,” Graham said.
When we got to the dinner, the first thing the kids did was run up to Robinson and yell “Uncle Robby!” and gave him a hug bigger than they’ve ever given to Ava or me.
“Well look who showed up late,” Robinson said raising his eyebrows and leaning back on his chair.
“C'mon man you know I have a wife who takes forever to get ready,” I said glaring over at Ava.
“You’re not the only one,” Robinson said rolling his eyes. “Let’s just all get some delicious grub to eat now, I’ve waited all day for this.”
“Before we order, I’d like to make an announcement,” Coach T said raising his glass. “ We’ve made it this far so let's just go out there Thursday and have fun playing for it all. Also let’s not disrespect the media tomorrow during media day, looking at you
