Creative Writing: You Throw Like A Girl

It is all too often that the phrase “like a girl” is thrown around carelessly, most often to describe actions which the person which the comment is directed at, may not be particularly good at, often in sports the statements will often go something like this:
“You throw like a girl.”
“You run like a girl.”
“You punch like a girl.”
“You look like a girl.”
This is not a generalised statement, personally I have heard it being used by both males and females and whilst the statement itself is not necessarily offensive, I find it ridiculous that it is most often used as a way to put someone down. So for such an innocent statement, something I find to be quite positive, to be used as something negative, even by females themselves, (I mean yes attempt put it each other down by comparing yourself to your own gender as if it’s a bad thing) is a rather ridiculous notion. …show more content…

I mean we spend enough time, as feminists or just people with brains, convincing sexists that everyone is equal, that a woman’s abilities equal to that of a man in many if not all aspects. What is so hard about understanding that a woman, is never, ever under any circumstance beneath a man?
