Sharon just moved to the countryside from the city this fall. She decided to make the move a month after her mum died from cervical cancer at the young age of fifty-five. Her mother had battled with the disease for five years. She made this decision because their former apartment reminded her a lot of her mum. This was the story she would feed to anyone who cared to ask about her past.
She was here on an undercover assignment to investigate the activities of serial killings in the little town. Her assignment was to pose as a the owner of an art gallery, but she jogged the streets of the town very early in the morning at five am searching for clues to the mystery murders and would indirectly be interrogating some customers who visit the

She was used to waking up early and punctuality was a habit ingrained into her by her mother. She waked in and went round the gallery, stopping at each painting before moving to the next. Then finally she arrived at her favourite, it was signed Clinton M. She often wondered who he was, coming up with such a vivid painting. He must be a genius if he drew it abstractly, she thought. She wondered if the place really existed. She would soon find out it did.
Finally, it was the last day of the last month during fall, the day someone always went missing. This was the day to finally uncover the mysterious disappearances in the area. And Sharon went out for her five am jog as usual. This time she took routes through areas that were less populated, looking around and observing if there was anything strange, but all seemed very normal and still. She rounded the turn to go back to her apartment, but jogged three miles before coming to a halt. She could not believe her eyes, the sight she saw raised goose bumps on her skin. The writing on the sign post before her read “WIN?”
It was a street, exactly like the one in her favourite painting, was this a dream? She thought to herself as she made her way into the woods. There were no streetlights here, the only source of light was the moon. She had stopped running now. She moved slowly down the path that was getting narrower by each step. She surveyed the sight and

It is unfortunate that crime exists in our daily lives. There really is no way to stopping crime completely, no matter how many laws or punishment are present, people will continue to keep breaking rules. There are many theories of why that may be the case, for example, Caesar Lombroso and his “atavistic” theory with the Positivist School theory and how people were “born criminals”, or the Rational Choice Theory, devised by Cornish and Clarke, described that people could think rationally and how people will naturally avoid pain and seek pleasure referred to as “hedonism” (Cartwright, 2017, lecture 4). Since it is apparent that crime will continue to exist, it is not only important to understand the study of crime and the feedbacks to it,

Police run Fred's record and determine that he has two prior DWIs within the past five years. The third DWI in 10 years is a felony. Police contact
Nixon believed that Johnson focused too much on the social causes and not enough on punishment of those who committed crimes believing that men should be held accountable for their actions. He was urged to place this war on crime on the same plane as any crisis fought in the
In 1929 the Uniform Crime was created by the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Yet, in the year of 1930, the Federal Bureau of Investigations became in charge of finalizing information collected for the crime reports. The Uniform Crime Report is an official data on crime that occurs throughout the United States. Once all information is reported from different police department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations breaks down all the collected data into charts. The Uniform Crime Report is statistical information gathered from different police agencies throughout the United States.
Crime is an unfortunate part of many people’s lives - both for the victim of the crime and also the suspect. There are many theories as to why crimes happen, who commits the crimes, and why crimes happen to certain people. Not all crimes can be solved, or questions answered but these theories give a peek into the thinking or background behind some crimes that are committed.
Summary: This chapter discusses the seven secondary defenses applied to crime after detection. These seven defenses can be split into two categories: discourage and oppose. The four ways which potential victims discourage their attackers: movement away from adversary, communicate ability to escape, distraction, feigns, and startles, and symbiotic protection. The three methods for quick opposition upon attack are chemical and weapon defense, sudden weaponry, and emergency social defense.

The Universal Crime Report (UCR) is a nationwide program that collects data and statistical information concerning crime in the US. Some examples of these crimes include murder, robbery, aggravated assault, hate crimes and many more. The UCR is a collaborative program that reports information from all cities and towns across the country and involves different law enforcement at various levels of government. The UCR is very useful in today’s law enforcement. The UCR provides law enforcement with information that they use to help budget the money that is needed to protect our society. The UCR evaluates crime data, combines data to get an overall picture of the crimes, identify trends, and looks to see where improvement is needed.
Throughout the social development of individuals, there are several things that we learn through inclusion and the way in which parents raise us. We learn how to make appropriate social interactions depending on who is in our presence, we learn social expectation, what is considered good behavior, and finally what is considered bad behavior. Yet, awareness of what can constitute as criminal conduct has become increasingly prominent in our culture, especially with the strong presence in social media that it now has. However, what we are often exposed to are adult criminal assailants, and we rarely hear about juvenile, unless they have committed an extreme offense. But it is that last population, the one that we need to focus on, considering that it is them that can move to the extremes; to get blossom under help or to commit an increasing amount of crime.
The criminal justice system is continually looking for ways to take preventative measures to halt crime before it happens however when faced with defining attempted crimes the courts have found it difficult to determine when an action should be punished the same or lesser than a completed crime. However, there are three types of inchoate crimes that can be punishable by law as these crimes are the beginning steps of the crime. The three types of offenses include solicitation defined as persuading or encouraging one to commit a crime, conspiracy which is the agreement to commit crime and possibly act on agreement and attempt is the unsuccessful
When explaining why both violent and property crime increased in Wortropolis between 1980 and 2000, the statistics of UCR or Universal Crime Report has to be examined first.

The crimes in Milwaukee are becoming a big thing for everyone and it’s putting Milwaukee higher and higher in the ranks of the most dangerous cities of America... The occasional crime has occurred in Milwaukee and in every city around the world but lately the crime in Milwaukee has been getting out of control and it’s beginning to become a very unsafe place for everyone. The probability of being a victim in a violent crime is 1 in 16. That’s not good and we can definitely improve this and make Milwaukee once again a better place. The most problematic areas in Milwaukee are the North and East sides. These issues are affecting everyone living in these areas, not only mentally as they’re so afraid that something will happen to them but also physically as so many innocent residents have been shot and killed or were put in very critical conditions from gunshot wounds. This is primarily due to stray bullets hitting them or being in the wrong place at the wrong time when a dispute is
