Crimean war: is a war that occurred between 1853 and 1856 , between Russia against a union of Great Britain, Sardinia, France, and Turkey. The attack of Russia against Turkey launched the war, bu this later made alliances with the above indicated countries and destroyed the naval power of Russia in the Black sea (1854), which enabled them to capture the castle city of Sebastopol that was sieged for long time in 1855.

The Hundred Year War was a war between the French and English in the 13th and 14th century. The war was a conflict over land, titles and rights between both the French and English. This involved several generations of French and English who have claimed a period of more than a hundred years(Hundred Years’ War, pars.1). This was said to last form around 1337 to 1453 by the House of Plantagenet. It was accompanied by some significant battles and people during this time period of the Hundred Year War. The origins of the Hundred Years War included Joan of Arc Liberates the Orleans, The Battle of Agincourt and Philip VI.

In 1915, the Battle of Ypres affected many Canadian soldiers during the First World War and many endured harsh environments. Using historical perspective allows one to understand and appreciate the sacrifice they made for their country. Men entered the army expecting a quick and exciting adventure, but were quickly shown the brutal truth. They were immediately thrown into the relentless environment that was filled with artillery, blood, and death and they would have to endure for the next five years. Trench warfare was brought up during this time where soldiers practically lived in mud and disease. There were rats and lice, diseases such as trench foot, and unbearable weather; every morning the troops would wake up in the unforgiving trenches

One cause of the war, as suggested by historians, was the previous relationships and tensions amongst countries, especially Serbia and Austro-Hungary. Military fatalities were minimized as the war dragged on due to counter-measures (gas masks) and better tactics to mitigate the effects of chemical weapons. After WWI, popular opinion pushed most countries to sign the Geneva Protocol which banned the use of chemical weapons. Use of chemical weapons since WW I has been minimal, but periodically it has been used during such conflicts as the Iran-Iraq War and the current Syrian Civil War.

The war started with the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the Archduke of Austria on June 28, 1914, by Slav nationals when the Archduke was in Sarajevo. As Serbia declared war against Vienna, the governments of France and Russia quickly became involved. Germany quickly entered into the fray, opposing France and Russia. Shortly thereafter, Great Britain took the side of France and Russia forming the Entente Alliance.

Civil War can be also known as “War Between the States” that happened in the mid 19th century. The war was a result of decades simmering tensions and controversy between the North and South of United States over slavery, state’s right and moving West. The northern states leading by President Abraham Lincoln wanted to abolist slavery in the United States. On the other hand, the southern states fought against this policy. Over those decades before the war, there were many critical events that led to the Civil War. Though, in my opinions, the four most critical events that contributed to the outbreak out the war were The Missouri Compromise in 1820, Nat Turner’s Rebellion in 1831, the Dred Scott Decision

Ivan Chetvyorty Vasilyevich was born on August 25 of 1530. His father was Basil the third and died when Ivan was three years old . His mother was Elena Glinskaya and died when Ivan was eight years old. Ivan was exposed to danger constantly at young ages. He was a very delicate and intelligent boy. His religion was orthodox. He was often neglected and at times hated by individuals of nobility that took care of him after the passing away of his parents; this cased hatred for the boyar class. He reportedly tortured small animals as a boy, yet still managed to develop a taste for literature and music (Ivan the Terrible). When Ivan was thirteen he ordered a noble man to be thrown to starving dogs.

The deadliest war in American history is known as the American Civil War killing nearly 620,000 soldiers and a mass amount of civilians. The War Between the States was fought between Southern slave states and the United States federal government. Southern states formed a group called the Confederacy, which went against the beliefs of the Union. Jefferson Davis of the Confederate States of America and Abraham Lincoln sought different views on slavery. Lincoln believed that all slaves should be emancipated and advocated the restoration of the Union.

The American Civil War was within the borders of the United States between Confederacy in the South and Union in the North. The war lasted from 1861 to 1865, and it is considered among the most destructive events ever witnessed in the country, leading to death more than 600,000 Americans. The war assisted in shaping the character and democracy in the American society today. Individuals involved in the war had different perspectives towards the war. People in the Northern part of the United States perspective the war as a revolution while other in the South viewed the war as a way to gain independence and as a rebellion to the ideologies brought forward by those in the Northern part. The war resulted from several years of differences between the Confederacy and the Union. It erupted from the conflict that built up between these two regions resulting from social, economic, and political differences. This paper examines the causes and effects of the American Civil War.

A Prisoner of War is someone who has been caught by taken as a prisoner by the opposing team in the war in this case it was the Australians, Chinese, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, Singapore and many more were captured and taken into the Japanese camps. The conditions of these camps were nothing like anyone ever imagined. They were surrounded with barbed wire, or a high wooden fence. Anyone who ever attempted to escape these camps would end up being executed in front of the other prisoners. The conditions of these camps were so bad they had long term effects on the prisoners. The long term effects of these prisoners included Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Mental Illnesses, Psychiatric Illnesses, Adjustment Disorder, Depression, Personality

Britain and France then saw that Russia was making its way into the Danube region. They were frightened that they were going to come into their region and take over. They also saw Russia destroy a Turkish aircraft; they then went to the Black Sea to help protect the Turkish transports. Therefore, Britain and France went to war with Russia in 1854.
