The Criminal Justice System is made up of several different process law enforcement, judiciary, and corrections this system is where the accused individual are tried and punished for the crime they are charged with. The depiction of criminal justice system in throughout each process (police, courts, and correctional) has become ubiquitous on television today. Shows that give a visual of the arresting and investigation process (law enforcement) are the televisions shows “Cops” and “The First 48 Hours”. The show “Cops” is a television series that follows police officers, constables and sheriff deputies around during their patrol and other policing activity (Cops, n.d). The reason this is believed to be true is because there is still too much retaliation against those who come forward and tell what he or she may have saw. Those who do are called “snitches” and are become victims themselves causing an ongoing cycle of crime. Is the above programs fair representations of criminal justice? Yes, it felt that the above television programs are fair in their representation of each process of the criminal justice system. The First 48 hour and COPS show different stages of the policing process that is tasked with the apprehension and the investigation. However, the next two show allow one to get a depiction of the court process from a director point-of –view. “Law and Order” and “After the First 48 Hour” both shows allow one to receive an inside look into the judiciary process of the criminal justice system. “Law and Order” part of the program concentrates on the investigation aspects of the crime committed, the other half of the program concentrates on following the prosecution of the crime in court (Law and Order, n.d). “Every episode begins with a criminal investigation and suspect arrest by NYPDs and the last half hour focuses on the prosecution of the defendant by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office” (Law and Order,
