This is a story of his life. He is an artsy crafty guy, an artist and his dad is a devoted hunter who is always trying to turn him around and make him kill something. I think the dad is afraid that the boy mgit be gay, which he is not.

In a place flooded with war and violence, a school is separated from reality; living within the walls are the boys of the school, shielded from the ugly truths that lie beyond. During this time of adolescence, the boys are forced to grow and mature while the walls that protect them begin to fall. One boy, Gene, lives within this wall and matures into a young man during this time through many events and conflicts he faces. Through these events occurring, he is now able to withstand the violence of the world, war and trauma. This coming of age is demonstrated when Gene causes Finny to fall out of the tree, discovers the reality of war, and Finny dies.

In the book Crispin the Cross of Lead by Avi, the story begins by introducing Asta’s son (later called Crispin), an orphan around the age 13, whose life is full of unanswered secrets. It wasn't till later when Crispin realizes that things untold have been kept away from him. Not just secrets about his lost, unknown father but also his trustworthy, caring mother, who he trusted since birth. Avi writes this story as an influencing book with life-changing lessons. One message in which he tells the reader is discovering the truth can change a person’s view of others and themselves.

A mom who I guess is 42 years old and her name is Annie who was almost killed but she was spared so her husband can play some chess.The dad who no one knows his name just wants to see his son again and wants to be happy again. A 13-year-old boy named Crispin changes throughout the book as he finds out his real self. The author, Avi, wrote Crispin The Cross of Lead to illustrate Crispin as a boy who starts off as someone with just the name “Asta’s Son”. To his own knowledge he was a nobody who ends up at the end of the book finding out the truth about himself that he has a lot more to his knew than he previously knew. Though unfortunately he gets held up with other circumstances which he overcomes and is able to walk away happy with his only friend, Bear.

I am reading Crossed by Ally Condie and I am on page 140. So far this book is about Cassia and Ky’s journey in the Carving to find each other. Cassia travels with a friend, Indie, from a farm that she worked at before they came to the outer provinces. Ky travels with a boy who reminds him of cassia’s brother, Eli, and a friend, Vick. As they travel, Cassia and Ky both believe they will find each other somehow against all odds.

The book Crossed, by Ally Condie, was about Cassia and Ky's journey to find "The Rising". This book was an awkward transitional book that I painfully pushed through to be able to read the next edition. It started where the previous book left off, the Society placed the two in different places, and following that, the book quickly escalated in terms of violence. From what started as a sappy romance novel (which in my opinion, was quite enjoyable for just some light reading), turned into a "fight for your life" adventure across the canyon to find the rebellion. Ky travels to a camp as a decoy villager with other boys that are even much younger than he is in the Outer Provinces. Crispin: The Cross of Lead is an exciting story of a thirteen- year old boy who fled from his village in hopes of not being caught and killed by John Aycliffe and his soldiers. Along the way Crispin meets new people and has some frightening encounters. In the beginning of this novel, Asta's son is described as a poor village boy who lost their mother and father. Soon after Crispin's mother died he found out he was accused of a crime he did not commit, and was pronounced a “wolf's head”. In fear of dying Crispin fled from his village, and soon finds out more about himself than he had ever imagined. After being called Asta’s son his whole life, it is revealed that his real name is Crispin. As the story progresses he soon meets Bear, a juggler, with nowhere else to go he becomes a servant of Bears’. Though being Bear’s servant, Bear doesn’t want harm to come to Crispin, so he protects him against his enemies and the wild. Closer to the end of the story Crispin is lead into his enemy's’ fortress, and to protect himself and Bear, he must change everything he had just come to find out about himself. Throughout the book, the author helps the reader understand the government, led by nobles, the political views and economic factors during these medieval times and how they affected the characters and plot of the story.
