JROTC has prepared me to become a better citizen by teaching me how to use leadership skills and be able to cope with subordinates. It also has prepared me to be a better citizen by showing me what the 7 army values are and what they mean. Some of the army values are respect, honor, integrity, and personal courage. JROTC has showed me how to do things different from the way I thought things should be done and how to march and be able to keep a company and platoon together when marching. Since I know a lot about the JROTC I am able to help other people become better citizens like I was taught. I am also a better citizen because i have the discipline not to do certain things that I did before I took the JROTC class.

If one of us did not get what we wanted the other two would throw a fit, we had each other’s back. JROTC, also known as Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, is a program that is offered in high school, which gives students an introduction to the U.S. Army. The main mission of this program is to motivate young people to become better citizens. This program teaches self-discipline, confidence, and pride in a job well done. It offers many challenges and opportunities which is surely able to increase one’s life skills and leadership skills, such as sharpening your communication skills, strengthen your self-esteem, and improving your physical fitness. Throughout its century-long history, multiple things had changed, while other things stayed the same, but the ROTC program will continue to remain as a promising existence for years to come.

This past year, I have been motivated to keep up my grades and work hard because of Adams' National Junior Honor Society program. I have aspired to be in the Society since I read it over the summer on the Adams website. I was so excited when I received this letter because it meant I had a chance at making the program. I want to be in NJHS because it will teach me how to manage my time, organize events, and work with others. Working with others who also value academic success contributes to my will to be in the program. Together, we can help each other grow and thrive in the community. We can also collaborate to help those in our community who aren’t in the position to speak out for themselves. I read about an NJHS group that organized an event where they donated toys to children who are less fortunate.
