As a transfer student, I want to feel California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) such as my home. Being ambassador, it is the best to learn about my school, share my experiences, motivate other students to work towards their goals, look for help if they need, show other students our school's resources, and make others feel special for being part of CSUF. My strengths are being organized, friendly, and capable to train other people. I have worked in retail companies for more than ten years and tutor for almost four years. I have proved my passion to deliver excellent customer service and my ability to be a good communicator. My abilities of being responsible, flexible, and adaptable put me in an assistant manager position in Kmart and Fresh
I am very excited to be applying to ECU for many reasons. From the pleasant campus atmosphere to the comprehensive majors, I believe I will be greatly benefited by the experience the university offers.
I would love to be a part of Central Michigan's athletic training program. I have a deep love and passion for sports. After High School I would still want to be in the sports field and I also like caring for people which would make Athletic training the field for me. I am currently a captain on my basketball and track team. I make others around me better and take on the role of being a leader. My goal is to graduate and get my degree. After that I envision myself being a strength and conditioning coach or an athletic trainer. I want to be a good athletic trainer at a college or pro level.
I chose NDSU because I feel like I was pretty well acquainted with the campus during my time in high school. Each summer, for FFA, my chapter, along with others from across the state, spent a week here competing in different agricultural competitions. Also, I talked with alumni from this nursing program, and they all said it was set up very well, and also put them on a track to getting a good job afterwards. When I came for a tour earlier this spring, I got to hear a speech from the Dean of nursing, and I just sort of felt like this was the right place. On a side note, I like being here because of the agricultural side of NDSU as well, even if I’m not necessarily going into a field pertaining to it. It seems more like home to me, when the person next to me, going into Vet Tech, rides horse as much as I did.
Throughout my time in the military and in civil service, I have cultivated a strong business expertise. Educationally, I have an undergraduate and a graduate degree in business management. One of the actions of a Cemetery Director at any facility is to review and verify the accuracy of all processes to determine if the cemetery is operating in accordance with NCA policies and directives. My challenge as the director of LINC was to improve cemetery accountability and adherence to NCA policies and directives by updating and revising all written internal standard operating procedure and policies. I focused on providing the cemetery staff with accurate procedural practices, tools, and equipment to accomplish their daily tasks. During my review,
The transition from being a child, dependent upon parents for everything, to an independent adult is one of the most stressful times a person will endure. Legally speaking, 18 is the age when you become an adult but the number doesn’t describe the responsibilities and independence you must take on. College is seen as the “big step” into the real world and many people struggle in choosing where to make their transition. I would like to take my “big step” by attending Florida Atlantic University.
I have a passion for learning, which has been inspired by my undergraduate studies at UCSB. I came into college thinking that I would feel the same about my classes as I did in high school. Most were interesting, but nothing really made me feel inspired about learning until my first quarter Sociology class. I am currently a Sociology major and plan to double major in History, as well as minor in Applied Psychology. These three subjects have grabbed my attention and have made me truly passionate about learning new things. I am working to achieve a high GPA during my undergrad at UCSB so that I can get into a good Graduate School to obtain a Ph.D to further the passion I have for education.
Since April of 2012, I have worked full-time at CARF International, an international accrediting body of health and human service providers. During my tenure at CARF, I have held varying roles including staff assistant, learning technology specialist, and research assistant, wherein I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of business units and stakeholders. My work experience at CARF has allowed me to see firsthand how different units feed off of each other in order to accomplish a common mission; in our case, of improving the lives of persons served in the programs in which we accredit.
My choice to attend FIU was one of the easier ones I’ve made so far in my academic career. I was drawn to the university as I felt a sense of community here that has only been further enhanced as a legacy, with both my mother and stepfather having completed their Bachelor degrees at this institution. The relationships and connections my parents were able to build here were a testament to FIU’s ability to bring together people from so many different backgrounds and create a family. I experienced an even greater connection as my stepfather found a lifelong friendship and mentor in an FIU staff member and honored him by making him the godfather of one of my younger brothers. Thus, FIU has been a special part of my life even before college was
From a kid till the end of my senior year of college I was treated as a “princess” my parents never let me do hardships and give me whatever I want. That was why I was so dependent. I can vividly remember when my parents finally let me go and I have to enter adulthood. When I arrived to MSU, it was like “Adulthood 101” to me. I learn how to budget and prioritize what is important, I learn the basic of cooking and finally have responsibilities. This actually shocked myself because I finally become independent, now I have to worry taking care of myself or manage on living on my own. I don’t consider it as a bad thing at all, I actually like this change.
Acting as a leader in an international organization called Cru is a human service activity I participate in while I am an undergraduate student. I am a professing Christian. Cru's mission is for everyone on Grand Valley State University's (GVSU) campus to know someone who is faithfully following Jesus. The movement has a deep commitment to learning about God and caring for people; I align with these core biblical truths. As stated, I am a student-leader in the movement at GVSU. My role to is lead a freshman community group, disciple (spiritually mentor) faithful students in the movement and give some talks. God has used Cru to aid in discovering who I am and why I was created. Entering freshman year, I was lost and didn't know who I was. All throughout high school, I was an athlete. I began searching and thinking critically about what I believe and who I wanted to become. I was attracted to Cru because they promote critical thinking, analyzing context and discovery. Additionally, Cru tackles hard life questions which leaves me desiring to continue learning.
My story prior to CSP has so many events and memories involved with it. I went to Delano High School, which is a small town around the Plymouth area. I was a student athlete that loved to be involved in activities. I was a three sport athlete through my Sophomore year and then dropped Volleyball so I could take a heavier class load. I took College in the Schools classes to get credits for college starting my Junior year. The teachers that taught our CIS classes were the best ones and helped all of us learn how to study which will help me here at CSP. Some of my friends were there to support with everything I had going on and we formed really good study groups. My friends were also their to keep my head up and push through things that I couldn’t do without their support. My parents have been my best role models and I still continue to look up to them and listen to what they have to say. They were always very supportive with whatever I wanted to do and gave me advice when I needed it.
I would like to apply for Summer Statistical Research Experience Undergraduate Program. I heard about this internship from my Math professor, Dr. Julie Clark. I am an international student from Nepal. I intend to major in Mathematics & Statistics, and Environmental Science at Hollins University. I have a comprehensive background in Mathematics and Science, my emphasis is research and data collection. I enjoy this concentration because I find great satisfaction being part of the problem solving process.
8. What is the one thing that you think sets you apart from other candidates from other candidates applying to the University of California? (348/350)
There are many events and reasons that have influenced my decision to apply to Colorado Christian University. I currently have an associate’s degree of applied science from Garden City Community College in Garden City Kansas. I grew up in Colorado Springs, involved with New Life Church and went to The Classical Academy for elementary, middle and high school. I always had a love for technology, building and fixing things. I loved to figure out how things work from building computers and working on cars. Once I was able to drive I worked a part time job at Salsa Brava Mexican Grill while I was in high school. After graduating in twenty eleven, I continued to work at my same job, then, later that summer my dad mentioned something about the John Deere program at the community college in his home town of Garden City Kansas. We went down, toured the facility and retrieved information about how to get enrolled. Turns out the John Deere dealership here in Garden City, American Implement offered scholarships to put students through school. I met with the CEO and Service Manager and applied for the scholarship program. A few weeks later I heard back from the Service Manager with good news, I was granted the full ride scholarship, and was able to come down and start working before school started to learn more about the machinery. I started working at American Implement January ninth of twenty twelve, it gave me a great opportunity to learn and get a head start before school started. I
