Cuba is one of the largest Island in the Caribbean. It is located between North and South America. Three things that make Cuba a beautiful place are its attractions, music, and history.
All of Cuba’s music ties to its history. A famous Cuban type of music is Son. Son is a major genre of Cuban music, and has helped lay the foundation for most of what is to come after. It arose in the eastern part of the island, among Spanish-descended farmers. Another type of music in Cuba is Rumba. It originated in the northern regions of Cuba, mainly in urban Havana. Lastly, one Cuban genre of music is Dazon. Dazon is the official genre of music in Cuba. Dazon is a slow partner dance that requires intricate footwork.. This genre was assumed to be created during the time British took over Cuba. Cuba’s music is very unique and can be found in very little places.

One example of these attraction is Vinales Valley. Vinales Valley is near the western part of Cuba. It is circled by mountains. There the soil is extremely soil and the climate make it great for farming. The traditional things that is farmed on the Vinales Valley is tobacco and it has been growing for several years. Another very famous attraction is the Morro Castle. Morro Castle is in Havana Cuba.. Morro Castle was built in the 1930’s as a voyage from New York City to Havana. On its way to New York City, the vesile caught fire and killed 137 passengers. It then broke down in New Jersey and it stayed there for years before it was brought back to Havana. This paper will be comparing and contrasting Merengue Tipico music, which is a type of merengue, and bachata music of the Dominican Republic. Merengue and Bachata are the two most popular music genres in the Dominican Republic. These two kinds of music represent the Dominican Republic and its people. Many Dominicans have taken their music and traditions to different parts of the world. Mainly, the Bachata and Merengue have expanded to different cities of the United States and Latin America. Although both genres have a lot of characteristics in common, they also have many differences. Hispanic’s music had a great impact in USA. Nowadays, Americans listen to Hispanics’ music. Hispanics’ music now is part of American’s culture. These changes in USA began around of 19th century, when Hispanics immigration increases in the USA. One of the big changes in music occurred around 1940s, when Americans began to recognize the efforts of Cuban-American musicians. One of the Cuban bands was Cugat. It was known better Orchestra ‘based in New York’s Waldorf Astoria’ which had a great visual and musical style. Another Cuban band was Machito who were dominated as one of the best New York’s scenes at that time. Thanks, to those bans Americans adopted some of Cubans’ dances and performances such as rumba, mambo and cumbia. Americans used and still using the Cuban instruments like bongos and maracas to create their rhythms. Later on, Americans created Jazz by African Americans with the influenced of Cuban’s music.
Cuba is a great country, with interesting things all around it. It is a great place to get spicy foods from, and education there is great. It is not how it used to be a century ago. Now, it is a beautiful island with a great coastline. The coastline has deep bays, coral reefs, and wonderful sandy beaches. Maybe one day I will visit Cuba.
