Experiencing the world empirically is a great way for anyone to become educated about different cultures. Cultivating perspective consciousness encourages us to see more than our own personal viewpoint, and it makes us aware of our cultural biases. From the pass eighteen years of moving over eleven times to different regions of this country, I have gained an awareness of different cultures. It was not easy moving to different states, having to find (and hope to be included in) activities, and learn the lifestyle of the region we lived. However, moving so much has taught me many valuable lessons. It has allowed me to become educated and involved in the lifestyles of these cultures. Friendship is a relation that is powerful and meaningful. When we relate on an empathetic level it propels us to make change. Relating with different cultures is a pivotal component in producing change in our world. When I lived in Arkansas I learned much about the Mexican through friendship. The majority of the town we lived in and my father’s employees were Mexican. I witnessed joy, benevolence, and respect. One time at school there was a boy name Adolfo. He was poor exemplified by his clothing and other things. One school morning he was tardy. He walked in dripping from head to toe. He had missed the bus, and had to walk to school in the rain since his mother did not have a car.
