The gospel is the foundation of the faith and without it there nothing. Romans 1:16 states “it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone that believes”.1 There are a lot of churches which do missions and other fine works but they fail when proclaiming the gospel. They proclaim portions of which are non-offensive to people. Hell will not be talked about, sexual sin never mentioned or any other type of sin. The need is for healthy churches, who then in turn are more likely to send healthy mission teams out into the field. The world desperately needs an untainted gospel. The power of the gospel is the best tool to break down barriers. When the Apostle Paul wrote Romans, he was crossing cultural barriers, he stated in Romans 1: 14-15 "14 I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians,[d] both to the wise and to the foolish. 15 So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome." 2 Paul is a great example of being a barrier breaker and being unashamed about his faith. Paul faced numerous obstacles, including persecution , customs and cultural differences. Therefore, this makes him a great example of what missionaries will encounter. …show more content…
It could take years of learning languages and earning trust 2. Showing people that the power of the Christian faith is demonstrated through love. Through that they will observe the truth in the gospel. That is an effective strategy in working missions across the Globe. Proclaim the gospel without being ashamed , but have tact and learn how you will be the most effective in your ministry. The power of God will be with
Sustaining missionaries already on the mission field is absolutely critical in the expanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Although the world seemed at peace in the early 1900’s but world’s powerful forces were pushing Europe towards war. These forces included militarism, alliances, imperialism and nationalism.
The Jade Peony, is a beautiful short story about the relationship between Sek-Lung and his grandmother Poh-Poh. The story deals with many complicated social and emotional issues including change, death, and acceptance. I chose tradition because everything Poh-Poh did was based off her tradition. The things she did that were based off her tradition were she went through people’s trash to find items to use to make her wind chimes. She also kept her jade pendant in a tiny red silk envelope and in her pocket until her death. Plus she had made her wind chimes out of trash that looked decent for a wind chime.
I think Church’s have major responsibilities to communicate the gospel message. We need to remember that it was God’s kindness that saved us. Church’s shouldn’t focus too much
In chapter 7, David Platt builds the case for the argument that there is no other way to get the gospel out to about ( 4.5 billion people) by missionaries alone. The church itself seeing the urgency in this matter needs to step up and take immediate action. “ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” Matthew 28:19-20.If Bible believing Christians would take this command seriously and do what God has called them to do, then more people around the world would have intimate and life “ saving and changing” relationships with Jesus Christ.
Romans were excellent at keeping their religion alive and keeping traditions ongoing. They were especially good at worshipping the nature including, stones, trees, waterfalls, etc. These special things had to be kept friendly by sacrifices and ceremonies. Some of these ceremonies and sacrifices took place in temples or nature. In fact, some of the temples are still standing today in Rome or now Italy. Many of these traditions have been studied by observing the statues and paintings they made. Besides believing in nature, the Romans also believed in gods. They paid homage to Jupiter, Minerva, Neptune, and Mars. The god that was the most powerful, Jupiter, was considered chief god of the state during the republican and imperial eras. Neptune was the god of the sea, Mars was the god of war and farm work, and Minerva was the goddess of crafts and wisdom. Before an event, attempts were made to discover the will of the gods, or what was going to happen, from signs in the sky like flight of birds, or by examining the insides of a slaughtered animal. The Romans would base their choices on the signs they believed they got from the gods. As I have told above, Romans were excellent at keeping their religion alive and keeping traditions ongoing. Romans believed in these things
1A To conquer “is to defeat someone or something, usually with force, like army troops that conquer enemy territory” (Vocabulary.com). This is exactly what happened to the Gaul by the Romans. The Romans conquered their region, influenced the Gaul and imported their culture. They even built mirroring cities in the Roman Gaul to further emulate the Roman culture. Once the Romans had conquered the Gaul they initially tried to take away their religion from them.
As a missionary our goal is to provide a sense of comfort to the recipients. These consequences are the following; there may be a spiritual clash while presenting the Gospel. People in other regions were born inside other religions besides Christianity and they may find it difficult to accept the gospel. Then their may be a lack of connection, the hardest part as a missionary is trying to find common ground. Especially when its involving people of different backgrounds. These ramifications could be avoided. It is very much necessary to learn the culture before going in the different
Effectiveness in missions is not simply a matter of having a better technique—nor is it solely dependent on us having a smart, integrated strategy, even though that is essential. The ultimate and critical ingredient is our relationship with the Lord and our willingness to love Him with all our hearts, souls, minds and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves (Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27). Jesus also said, “If you love Me, keep My commands” (John 14:15). The question is where to start and how to get into that space where we can be most effective at discipling. We propose that many of us as individuals and also as a church need to go right back and start at bedrock. The Bible has some very graphic imagery for building our lives on a poor foundation. Older readers may recall singing a chorus about building a house on the sand and inviting ruin when the rain came down and the floods came up. The house built on the rock survived. Simple stuff, but full of truth. It comes from Matthew 7:24.
The solution to this problem is to understand the worldview, and then present the gospel in a culturally and socially meaningful way. Hawthorne writes, “Clear and faithful gospel communication is not something missionaries do on their own. Instead they work with local believers, so that “by common prayer, thought and heart-searching, in dependence on the Holy Spirit,” they “may learn together how to present Christ and contextualize the gospel.” In other words, we must make disciples of the indigenous people, and they, in turn, will spread the gospel in full understanding of the cultural and social
The Romans were a well-established civilization of immense power in the Hellenistic era, conquering nearly the whole Italian Peninsula and most of Europe. Unfortunately, a time of continuous difficulty led Rome to its decline in 476 CE. The fall of Rome can be characterized as a series of troubling events that provoked an influx of citizens to Catholicism in the hope of receiving eternal salvation. Most importantly, it allowed the Catholic Church to rise in power from 590 to 1517 CE and become the most dominating and influential community in Europe. For one, Rome was unable to govern its excessively large empire, which set the beginning of a steady economic decline. Moreover, the public executions of Christians piqued the curiosity of the population, causing rumors of salvation to spread like wildfire. Finally, Constantine’s reign as emperor changed the tide of Rome from being initially an anti-Christian empire to being a fully in support of the religion. Accordingly, the fall of Rome influenced people to convert to Catholicism, which allowed it to thrive in power in Europe.
There is a great misconception about the Romani people. Some even believe that Roma are the people from Romania, which is a completely false statement. The Romani or Roma, are the ethnic group of people who travel from place to place, whose majority currently resides in Europe and America.

The world has become a global village with the current unprecedented interconnectedness. More people have heard and the good news of Jesus Christ in the present generation than in any other time in history. It is estimated that more Christians in Africa, South American and Asia than there are in Europe and North America. With the current population explosion and various distractions brought by the technological advancements and other forces, more people than ever remain unreached. The church globally needs to reexamine how it implements theology and missionary work to set the stage for evangelism.
The last of the initial tasks for missions is spreading the Gospel. Once a strong, healthy body of believers has been organized that is well provided for and self-sufficient it
