Walking into the cultural fair, I had no idea what to expect. I think I was expecting to be assaulted by different sights, sounds, and smells. However, my senses were only touch by the differences. I was pleased to see the different cultures and learn about them, but it was not what I was expecting. When I first walked into the Grille, I was first shocked to see the amount of people walking around the booths. There were so many people it was very hard to see the booths and which country the represented without have to be shove your way into see. I was glad to see that people wanted to learn about the different cultures. I just wish there was more room to move easily and see the booths. My friends and I walked by the booths, and caught

When you walk into the fair from the entrance you can see the dirt in the air. The smell of the popcorn is like a peaceful smell. The sound of tractors is loud and it kind of sounds like a buzzing bee. The feel of the dust on my face makes me feel sticky. Also, the taste of my walking taco is delicious every bite. I had to throw the football into 3 hoops and I missed. I was mad because if I got all 3 footballs in the 3 hoops I would’ve got a football jersey! I was able to spend time with my best friend Brylan and his family. Brylans little brother won a giant aired up baseball bat and kept on hitting us with it. The State Fair is so much better than tulip time because at the State Fair there is a lot more

I never will understand this day to the fair and what all happened, I don’t think anyone will. I just know that one animal ruined a month for me. It was the week right before fair, and all I did was walk my cow. It was the first time ever showing a cow, my brother convinced me that it would be a fun learning experience. That didn’t happen at all for me when I walked into that show ring with a 1,100 pound steer. I was up at 4:00 a.m. the morning of the show, and I was ready to go wash my cows and get them ready for the show.
Itʻs a sunny Thursday afternoon at Whittier Narrows Regional Park, where a group of friends are enjoying a nice hot lunch of macaroni and cheese together. For most of them, this is the first meal they have eaten in days.
An amazing college level course that could be offered to first-year students in the Global Scholars program would be a cultural exploration course. Not only would it be a physical exploration course, but also a mental exploration course. Students would begin the course by sharing where they want to travel and their reasons for doing so. The most popular places would be chosen by the amount of interest. Afterwards, some classes would be spent exploring the history and culture of those specific places. Students could perform skits, make costumes of traditional clothing of the area, construct unique pieces, or do other creative things to show their understanding of the areas and their personal thoughts on them. After presenting their creations,
“Western generational models can not be applied broadly to a global workforce.” (Erickson, 2011, p. 1) The events that shaped the generations in the United States did not necessarily happen around the world. Other countries and cultures have had their own monolithic events to shape their beliefs and character. While events such as World War II did happen globally, not every country was involve in that war and did not have the same experience as say people in the United Kingdom and United States might have had. The potential exception to this rule is the proposed Generation Y and Millennials who have globally had access to the same information due to increasing availability of technology. In a recent email report
For my interview, I chose to interview my mom, Ilsa Wells, who had been born and lived in Colombia for 23 years before moving to the United States. Her family in Colombia was able to get by and provide for their fairly large family, albeit barely and with a lot of people having to work to make ends meet. She got her education there and when she was 23 she decided to move here in search of job opportunities and a better life.
Many of us have different ideas of when talking about culture. We define culture as one's behavior and beliefs that distinguish us between one group to another. Culture has been around for many centuries, modern human culture would have been differentiated with language, tools and weapons. The different genetic makeup for the population would also reflect the major differentiation in culture between the related groups. I believe culture started because of population growing and people trying to relate with one another with their own common lifestyles.

A cultural event that I have attended in the past that has had a memorable affect on my life was a Native American Powwow. This event takes place every year, Thanksgiving weekend in Tucson, AZ. I arrived in the late afternoon, as the sun was going down. I remember seeing many different types of people, from tourists to the different Native American performers. The physical setting of this particular celebration was outside, and based around, one main circle. Drums were beating so loud, you could feel the pound inside your chest. Different activities were going on all around, such as dancers, vendors, and a huge variety of foods to choose from. The circular dancing arena is known as the arbor, this area is blessed before any of the events
1. My primary style is experiencers and my secondary style is strivers. 2. I think that the VALS survey described my leisure interests and free time choices pretty accurately. I do like to socialize and be around people most of the time.
For my second culture immersion project I went to eat at a Mexican restaurant. I went with my group members Ryan, Brian and Brian's girlfriend. I went this pass Tuesday after we had our group meeting. I don’t recall the name of the restaurant but I know it was downtown Appleton near by the Walgreens. . This was good choice for the project because I never have eaten at an actually Mexican restaurant before.
