Mexico is a beautiful and exotic place filled with vast lands and determined people, but to understand their culture you must first know what the meaning of culture is and the characteristics that define a culture. Culture is defined as, “the way of life of a particular people, especially as shown in their ordinary behaviors and habits, their attitudes towards each other, and their moral and religious beliefs. (Cambridge University Press 2016)” There are many characteristics that make up a culture and nearly all of them describe every country from the biggest to the smallest, and those are a learning culture, shared culture, symbol based culture, an integrated culture, and a dynamic culture. Which in turn cause the people to use alternatives to survive, such things as violence, theft, gunrunning, drugs, and trying to smuggle themselves out of the country into the United States of America. The eastern and western parts of Mexico are not much better off although they have the coastlines, which make it easier for them to supply water to their crops and live stock. They have to deal with tropical storms, flash floods, and mountainous terrain, which in turn affects their agriculture it also slows down their abilities of exports and imports throughout the country and impedes their economy. The southern part of the country would seem to have it the easiest but is not exactly true although they do not have to worry so much about the mountains or the desert land they still have to worry about floods and hurricanes. However, in the end still have the best capabilities of thriving in the country due to the rainforest and waterways; it makes it easier for them to grow fruits and vegetables, export wood products, coffee beans, cotton, and tobacco.
