In 2006, Memphis had the second highest violent crime rate in the country. The mayor of Shelby county at the time collaborated with the District Attorney, the Sheriff’s dept, Memphis Police Director and business leaders to try to address the issue (Goggans, 2014). Collectively they created a 15 point research based crime reduction plan. Due to Memphis’ data driven policing initiative, their safe community strategy has helped with the decline in serious crime in Memphis by more than 26.6 percent. In January of 2011, Memphis saw its lowest murder rate in 30 years. Nevertheless, despite the success, violence among their youth is still on the rise (Goggans, 2014).
The idea of violence is instilled in everyone’s head in some way or another. From the time we are born we are equipped with the idea that we must react when we are upset. When someone affects us in a negative way, there is an idea in our minds that urges us to fight back or cause harm to that person. This idea of causing harm stays with us from childhood until we take our last breath. Since 2013, there have been 242 school shootings within America. Even worse, there have been over a thousand mass shootings in the country resulting in mass casualties. Most recently, one single man murdered fifty-eight people at a concert in Las Vegas, Nevada and injured over 240 others. Although the motive may have been different between these shootings, one thing remains the same for all of them, the act of violence.
There are several red flags in the invoices. There are several invoice numbers that are repeated and have an A at the end of the repeated invoice.
With the many conversations about the African-American communities and their issues with gang violence, government assistance, and the lack of jobs in their communities it is clear to say that the American Dream or even a moderate lifestyle was not created for all African Americans and Minorities and since we found a way to be noticed, heard, and felt like they’re rightfully a part of something America wants to now label it “war or Drugs” and “gang Violence” thus creating Gang Injunctions in those predominantly of color communities. Now I am not stating that the violence is not present, innocent lives are not being taken, nor are drugs consuming our communities, but what I am saying is that they act as if there is no other approach that could help clean up the streets, provide piece and harmony among all communities, and solve issues for the betterment of the community. Instead they are removing them from their communities, threatening them from going to their neighborhood, and as a consequence they get jail time, an institution that already houses half if not more than half of our black men. The gang injunction initiative is set up to tear apart the minority communities through driving up the prices and making them move, especially if they have a family member who is under the injunction’s rules. Its ironic how they put them in such enclosed space, while they make suburban home for the economically fit causing them to commute and now they are systematically removing them
So that this bill can be entered into the system we must first identify the cost center and thus its business unit. Also we enclose the exchange rate on the day before the date of the invoice to then generate the exchange difference on the day of payment. With respect to the latter we generate what is an order of temporary debt payment where the consultant is selected with the exchange rate of the day it is paid and approved by system is attached. Completed the above steps, having had the approval of all sectors, he moved to cash to fulfill the task of transfer of such fees and refunds.
The City of Detroit has been a renowned city for culture, automobiles and many technological influences throughout the world. But, during the early 1900’s, the City of Detroit was plagued by gang wars just like multiple cities throughout the United States. Unfortunately, the start of Gang Violence has been a mystery ever since it started to effect the public. And feuds, like the “Gianolla – Vitale” feud happened during the Prohibition Era. The gangs were controlling the whole city. There we dozens of crooked cops, judges were crooked, and pretty much every official in the city was crooked. But why did all of these terrible things happen in the City of Detroit?
In 2009, the Hate Crimes Statistics Act was amended by the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act. This amendment provides funding to help different levels of jurisdiction better investigate and prosecute hate crimes. Additionally, this amendment expanded the protections of hate crimes to include disability, gender identity, sexuality, and gender. This Act was brought about following the deaths of Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr., who were both victims of brutal hate crimes.
Harris County sheriff, Ron Hickman makes this statement at a press conference after a police officer was brutally murdered. “At any point when the rhetoric ramps up to the point where calculated, coldblooded assassinations of police officers happen, this rhetoric has gotten out of control. We’ve heard ‘black lives matter.’ All lives matter. Well, cops lives matter too. So why don’t we just drop the qualifier and just say ‘lives matter,’ and take that to the bank.” With this statement Hickman is insinuating that black people never protested for peace amongst all races. During the civil rights movement (1954-68) leaders such as A. Philip Randolph, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Thurgood Marshall fought for equal rights and to stop the senseless race killing. But as we fast forward 50 years later it seems like we nearly fighting the same battle. So when we say black lives matter, yes we mean only black because it seems to have been forgotten, or never learned. Recently though the movement has come under scrutiny and has been labeled by some as a hate group. I believe BLM is not a terrorist group instead due to all the years of turmoil and hardships it’s about time we fought back to stop the killing and discriminating of black people.
Pride Fund to End Gun Violence is a Political Action Committee (PAC) that focuses on attaining rational gun reforms to make America safer for all while advocating LGBTQ safety and equality. Yes I would join this group and contribute to its causes because I believe that gun laws should be made stricter and that no matter your sexual orientation or gender identity everyone deserves equal protection and equality. The Pride Fund to End Gun Violence communicates its message by building off of the Pulse Nightclub shootings’ attention with the message “join the fight against gun violence.”
Fixing America is going to take a lot more than a hammer and nails. To fix America, we will have to get our money/dept and the violence happening in and out of our country under control.

Gangs, murder, drugs, police, assault, robberies, are the things that a youth in a gang has to go through on a daily basis. From seeing their friends being killed by the police to seeing their fathers leaving, these youths have a rough life. No one should live the lives that these kids have to go through. In Luis Rodriguez’ memoir Hearts and Hands Creating Community in Violent Times, Rodriguez takes the reader into the lives of multiple youths who have past connections with gangs. Rodriguez tells us about how we have to create relationships with these youths because many of them do not have any relationships. Most of them go to gangs to seeking these relationships since everyone has given up on them. Rodriguez works alone and oftentimes has
The numerous cases regarding state-sanctioned violence depicted in chapter nine stood out to me. In the late 1950's, white homeowners intentionally sold their houses to African-Americans considering they would pay an abundant amount of money in comparison to whites. This was due to the lack of housing that allowed African-Americans to reside in certain areas. However, this did not mean African-Americans lived peacefully like their white neighbors. An example of this can be seen when Bill and Daisy Myers purchased a house from a white homeowner in Levittown, Pennsylvania. When it became clear that African-Americans moved into the neighborhood, roughly 600 white demonstrators assailed the Myers by throwing rocks at their house. Some even rented
We have to pay especial attention to the agreement reached with the former Co-owner of the company, Mr. Verden. This agreement is affecting the cash flow of the company since the interest expenses raises by around $12,000.00 more per year, this together the financial interest of the Metropolitan’s Bank loan
