There are many different types of democracy, for example Direct Democracy (is when most, if not all, members of society take part in political political process). Another type of democracy is Representative Democracy, when citizens vote to put someone into power to represent them in political decisions or actions. Although Ancient Greece had bits and pieces of democracy here and there, they were mainly not democratic.
