A democracy is a government run by its people and decided by voting. This type of government has been in use for thousands of years. Democracy was made originally in 507 B.C by the ancient Greeks. This started off as small meetings in the center of town where everyone would show up too. Everyone in town except women and children participated and would have a say in what happens there was know one who had more say than the others officially and no dictator calling the shots.
