The Human Resources Profession Map (HRPM) consists of 2 core professional areas, 8 professional areas and 4 professional competence bands.

Core Areas: Insights, Strategy and Solutions & Leading HR
Insights, strategy and solutions are focussed on development within an HR organisation, such as to foresee any problems that may arise and to put solutions in place. The HRPM has been designed to assist all HR professionals in any business however large or small.
Leading HR is more focussed on the personnel area and is mostly involved with leadership within a business, to give personal advice and offer ideas.

An overall insight to all of the bands is to contribute and ensure that the success is managed and measured. The map captures what successful HR people do and deliver across every aspect and specialism of the profession and sets out the required activities behaviours and knowledge.


Understanding Customer Needs

The most important need is being able to identify any issues that may arise and prioritise these in the most effective way.
Below are three examples of different customers and their needs.
1: An employee has called in sick and this triggers a MFA (managing for attendance alert) 2: My manager has asked for a list of all staffs sickness to date, as a report needs to be written. 3: The payroll department have asked for details of a new employee, before the cut off period which is today at 17.00 hrs.

In order for me to prioritise these key tasks it would be suggested that that importance be considered for all, I would then review all three and decide the order to complete each task timely and effectively.
