I came to Canada in summer of 2005 in pursuit of a doctoral degree and got admitted at Dalhousie University. I got a fully funded research position to pursue a project, which was very much in line with the project I did during my Master’s thesis (i.e., finite element analysis (FEA) and testing of advanced material such as composites and smart shape-memory alloys). Thanks to my cross-disciplinary thesis advisor at Dalhousie, during the four years I was engaged in my doctoral studies, I was exposed to a wide range of inter-disciplinary engineering courses problems through various departments (Civil, Mechanical and Materials Engineering departments), and gained significant amount of knowledge and hands-on experience in conducting FEA and testing. …show more content…

I started in materials technology division, but it did not take too long to get promoted to a managerial position because of my strong theoretical and hands-on skills in characterizing and testing of FRP products. I was the head of Quality division of the company, a position responsible in resolution of various manufacturing related issues and development of solutions that would result in significant improvement of the company’s products, as detailed in my CV. In September 2011, I was hired by EWS (Exterran Water Solutions), a firm involved in design and fabrication of water treatment facilities in oil and gas sector. I take pride in having worked in this firm until now, given the eco-friendly nature of the job, which is in line with my professional and personal beliefs ( i.e., contributing to resolving 21st century environmental issues at a global
