On June 20, 2014, the Department obtained emergency custody through C&P of Ryan due to neglect by mother Heather Martin. Mother was arrested by Burlington Police on 6/16/14 for larceny; shoplifting and three counts of receiving stolen property. Heather was taken to at MCI Framingham. The family was placed in a hotel through Department of Transitional Assistance. It was against the hotel policy for children to be left in the hotel unsupervised, and Ryan and Bria were staying alone in the room for five days. This was deemed concerning for the two children to not have an appropriate caregiver. When the Department was made aware of the situation father Brian Scopa 's whereabouts were unknown to the Department. Family members were contacted that could possibly take the children in. However, uncle Stephen Martin, aunt Cindy Fiore and Grandmother Carroll Clinton were unable to do so for various reasons. Given that there were no family members to take Ryan and Bria in, the Department placed them in a temporary Hotline foster care placement from the 6/20/14 to 6/23/14 until a more suitable living arrangement was made available. On 6/23/14 Ryan and his sister were placed in a kinship home of a family friend.

The Australian Criminal Justice system has an intricate and diverse structure that makes it one of the most unique systems in the world. The Commonwealth of Australia was approved by the British Parliament in 1900 and came into existence on January 1, 1901. The federal constitution combined British and American practices, with a parliamentary government, but with two houses - the popularly elected House of Representatives and Senate representing the former colonies. This began the start of a new era of policing. (Findlay, Odgers, Yeo). The Commonwealth of Australia is a federalist government composed of a national government and six State governments. There are nine different criminal justice systems in Australia - six states, two territories, and one federal. The eight States and Territories have powers to enact their own criminal law, while the Commonwealth has powers to enact laws. Criminal law is administered principally through the federal, State and Territory police. (Chappell, Wilson, Heaton). In this essay an in depth analysis of the Australian criminal justice system will be given, along with a comparison to the United States criminal justice system throughout the essay. As well as an evaluation of the effectiveness of the system and finally a brief summary of how the Australian criminal justice system structure could be improved to better suit the evolving society. Australia has a complex and very intuitive system of policing that
William admitted himself into the facility on Friday (3-4-16) for crack cocaine use. He admitted to using it and being high around Malik. The reporter did not think the crack cocaine was being made at the home, but William states that Malik knows that he uses it. William stated he was leaving the facility on 3-8-16, and the reporter notes it is not an AMA, although the facility would love for him to stay longer. There is not knowledge of Malik being abuse/neglected when the father is high, but the child states he can not do things he want to do because he would be high. William has custody over Malik, and at the time of intake, Malik was in the care of William's ex-mother in law. This is William's first

In the case of Conrad Jarrett I would envision utilizing two frontline treatment options in order to reduce the client’s symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Bryant (2008) designed a treatment protocol that combines the use of cognitive restructuring and exposure therapy. Utilizing both of these therapies within structured individual sessions would allow a reduction in negative cognitions (e.g., feelings of guilt and shame) should these feelings intensify during exposure. My concern stems from the patient’s previous attempt at suicide and my desire to provide Conrad with some tools to combat his negative thoughts increasing the likelihood that he will remain unharmed and in therapy through the duration of treatment.
Danny Newcastle, 6 y/o male has developed conjunctivitis and started sneezing and coughing. Danny’s younger sister, Lisa 4 y/o female, developed conjunctivitis and sneezing a week ago, but she recovered uneventfully. Newcastle family owns a small chicken farm, which is quite an attractive place for migratory birds in the fall and in the summer. A few weeks ago, more of their flock became weak and began sneezing and some of them died. My assessment of the situation is that the disease has transmitted from the sick birds to the kids due to the fact that the kids were playing with some of the sick birds. The chance of having some sort of zoonotic diseases such as coryza or bird influenza, in this case, is highly probable since we received a dead
Back in April, Phil Rudd plead guilty to threatening to kill, and possession of cannabis and methamphetamine in a New Zealand court. The former AC/DC drummer faced seven years in prison, but he was just sentenced to eight months of home detention. Rudd admitted that he threatened to kill a former employee, but he stated he was under the influence of drugs when he called and threatened the victim. At one point, Rudd was also charged with murder-for-hire, but the charge was dropped due to lack of evidence. According to reports, Rudd initially hired someone to kill his former employee and he offered the person large amounts of cash, a house, and a vehicle in order to have the victim murdered.
