New High School for Summit City project is thoroughly communicated to all members involved and is located in the north section of Summit City, Ontario. The owner of this project is Prince Edward Regional Board of Education. Summit City has two public high schools and the Board of Education applied for ministry approval for the construction of a new education facility, with a total of $19,000,000. The existing schools would have to be teared down, costing them a total of $2,600,000, so that one site can be sold to build a condominium and the other site can be used to the board of educational regional office. I am appointed to give the owner, Prince Edward Regional Board of Education, an idea of which is the best project delivery methods for this kind of case scenario. The three methods of project delivery are:
An experience that has greatly influenced my understanding of the world has been my participation in Florida Atlantic University’s Pine Jog Fellowship. The Pine Jog Fellowship is a three-semester program that focuses on environmental improvement and education. In the Pine Jog Fellowship I have had the opportunity to develop my own environmental service projects that would benefit my community. During one semester of my fellowship, I coordinated beach clean-ups for Lake Worth Beach. I recruited over sixty people and collectively, we recycled and threw away over one hundred pounds of trash off of Lake Worth Beach. I also spoke to local fishermen and educated them on the dangers of throwing monofilament fishing line into the ocean. During the
The multi-purpose facility’s mission is to use the campus as an outside lab for experience-based learning and connecting with the urban ecology and landscape. Around 80 faculty members and students attended the ribbon cutting.

Ever since I was a young child, I had a passion for nature. Aided by my parents, this drive was always fueled by day hikes, week long tenting trips, beach days, and long walks in the woods. This exposure to nature made me realize how precious and fragile it was. My passion for nature then escalated into a passion for the environment and protecting it. After taking Environmental Science at high school my junior year, I was able to blossom that passion for environmental protection into a reality with the inception of the Sustainability Squad. The sustainability Squad is an environmental awareness club who’s mission is, “promoting a sustainable lifestyle in and around York high school by spearheading initiatives such as the garden center and
I see environmental education as an opportunity to create passionate young leaders and to educate them on current environmental issues. I believe that my role as a First Year Honors Program Leader has helped prepare me to assist in creating plans for environmental education and community outreach, which are also components of the internship positions that I am applying for. As an honors program leader, I had to create lesson plans for incoming freshmen in a bi-weekly seminar style class to help ease their transition to Iowa State. In addition to this, my time as a tutor for entry level life science classes has shown me my potential as an educator in the environmental field. Leading a class of twelve freshmen students and being a tutor has helped me to increase interpersonal relationship skills and taught me to educate through fun, engaging
Another great notion is to plant plants around campus that are native to this area. Not only are we improving the air quality, but we are replenishing what’s being torn down daily. Some of our native plants and trees are Serviceberry, Red Maple and Sugar Maple, Sweetfern, Red and Black Chokeberry, Climbing Hydrangea, Maidenhair Fern, Wild Ginger, Sunflowers, Carolina Phlox, and Thimbleweed. Trees help provide oxygen to us and serve many other purposes in times of need. This is also a helpful learning practice, because most of us don’t know our native plants.
I visited Northwestern looking for a college that would help me apply chemical engineering to combat climate change. The information session began with the projector painting a collage of students on-screen. There were chemists in lab coats, musicians on stage, athletes in uniform, and students with a limitless array of backgrounds and interests in unity. The presentation later concluded with a map of the world in Wildcat purple. As the day continued, I learned that these two slides could not have been a better microcosm of the whole of Northwestern.
This experience was chosen to encourage the children to explore and participate in growing their own food in order to extend their knowledge and understanding of where food originates from and present the importance plants have on earth’s eco-systems. The activities in this learning plan are designed to assist children in connecting with the natural environment and understanding their world around them through sensory and hands-on investigation (Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations [DEEWR], 2009). When children are connected with and contribute to their world, they develop environmental values and become socially responsible citizens who show respect for the environment (DEEWR, 2009). Altering the connectedness of children
My most imminent goal is to, through college at Cedarville, gain an education that is necessary for excellence in modern business. I plan to get a job utilizing a degree in either Computer Science or IT Management, so the work would be either in programming, or in a more businesslike environment. However, I believe that in either setting, God has given me the skills and tendencies necessary to become a leader in the group. Whether or not this manifests as a leadership position in the company, or as a dedicated employee who can encourage and assist his coworkers, I can't tell yet. However, I believe that, through Christ, I can make inroads into the lives of people in the work environment to make a positive impact on their lives.
