Many recent college graduates have faced record levels of unemployment which make people question what they value about higher education and of college education is worth the cost. I think college is very important and it is worth spending the time and energy, and if needed the money to graduate from college and getting a high degree. College education emphasizes freedom, experimentation as tools for students. The higher the degree the higher salary a person would be making and finally, college is to teach work related skills and knowledge grow personally an intellectually as a student.

You can’t believe what other say, until you experience it personally. I know college is important because I’ve seen what happens if you do not go to college, not from TV shows or movies, but from my own family. My dad has four siblings, and he is one of the four that had graduated from college. One of his brothers did not, he dropped from school when he was in high school because one of his friends told his there isn’t a point in college and it’s a waste of time and money. He believed him because his friend’s dad dropped from school and has one of the biggest companies. My dad’s brother dropped from school and until now does not have a job and is thinking of going back to school, but it’s too late now because he is already too old to go back to school. And my dad and his other brothers have jobs and are
Did you know that adults who graduated from a four-year college believe that, on average, they are earning $20,000 more a year as a result of having gotten a degree. College is something that is very important to some people, while it is not so important to others. While some people believe they do not need college for their future occupation, it can be argued that college helps every occupation because it helps a person grow and develop both personally and intellectually. Education is not only used during school. Education will be with a person for their whole life and through every occupation they go through.
College can be very beneficial, and it can bring you better job opportunities. You will earn more money than a regular job like as a cashier at Target or Walmart. Having a degree will open up more career options. When you have a degree, you are qualified for more positions than what you’ve done previously. There are many reasons why college is worth going to, despite the high cost. Therefore, people should go to college so that they can earn more money, have better opportunities, and to have more knowledge after high school.
With America growing at the rate it is, it is very important to grow with it. College is the best way to prepare someone to be out in the workforce and survive. Going to college is not essential for success, but it will give someone the extra skills that will help them in their career and in life. College helps people get a good job, prepares them for adult life, and will help them make more money.
In the status quo there are numerous problems worth debating. However, one current issue of society seems to always be in the national conversation- college education. To demonstrate, this subject has never been more relevant than it is now because of the copious amount of people affected. While there may be temporary financial drawbacks in getting a college education, most will still benefit in the long run from the outweighing advantages.
We are told to “go to college” by family, media, and teachers, but we are never given an explanation on why it’s important for us to get a higher education. The importance of higher education is so we can obtain a career that can support our needs and wants. It’s also important because it gives you an advantage when trying to get a job. Employers require a higher form of education, which is necessary for our society to advance. There aren’t many jobs that accept people with a high school diploma as their highest form of education. Employers want people that know what they’re doing, and so does our society. In order for people to go into the career field they want, they need to go to college to learn everything that comes with that career.
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela. In my honest opinion, I honestly think that college is important for people and there are various reasons regarding college is worth attending. Three of these reasons are that college graduates earn more rather than high school graduates, how college graduates have lower poverty rates than high school graduates, and that the children of college graduates are healthier and better prepared for school.
A college education prepares you for a lifetime job because it gives you a basic understanding of the skills you would need for your profession. You can’t just get an actual job without going to college to help you build your knowledge for your interest. In a survey report from “Is College Worth It?” it states that “74% say their college education was very useful in helping them grow intellectually; 69% say it was very useful in helping them grow and
Murray argues that many of the population have the right intellectual capacity to stand college education but due to societal pressure, a higher percentage of students, up to 40% struggle in high school and enroll for a college education in order to secure their future with what they call a degree. This can be shown in Murray’s statement “most people go to college to improve their chances of making a good living” (Murray, 442). Murray claims that the stress placed on college education by society has made most students enthusiastic and are willing to go to college and participate in other smaller courses due to the demand on going to
Many think college is not worth it, however when I think of college not being worth it, I ask myself what is “it”? Is college not worth the sacrifice, time, or stress? In this case, many are not college material, simply for lacking the amount of effort and self motivation it takes to get through college. I oppose with the statement “For many, College isn’t worth it” because college is worth everything it takes for you to become great in the field you choose to study. Many people are not able or do not have the mindset to get through college, but that do not mean they will never have the mindset. Most people do not work hard under pressure or have great skills at testing or learning at a slow or fast pace. Some people believe that after highschool, since it is required, that going straight into an occupation is better for them. In my opinion, college is a stepping stool for achieving higher education and newer knowledge for the area you decide to infiltrate. I believe the educational world is bias to the brainpower of many people and people of the world is bias to the things they are capable of doing. Therefore, I am confident in stating college is worth it because having a college background ensures you quicker job opportunities, college gives you knowledge to become disciplined and self-motivated, and; college also enhances your communication skills.
Even though tuitiion costs have raised by almost 50% over the course of 30 years people still argue that college is still worth the price. One supporting reason that will always apply to this argument is, the fact that college graduates earn more money and have a much easier time finding employment than their peers who only have a highschool diploma. Others might state that though not all careers recquire a four-year degree, most do. With that being said a college degree can almost always give you ta head start and better skills for/in any field. Opposers also use Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg to say their choices to leave school were based off of billion dollar ideas, and that the two were already computer geniuses when their decisions were made. To add to that supporters of attending college would say , it’s not all about the learning material. The choice to attend college gives students the opportunity to gain financial responsibility, students usually learn how to put needs before wants when they attend college. Lastly whether it’s your peers or professors college provides students with the time to meet, and get to know new people, with new ideas who may challenge, inspire, encourage or even work alongside one another. This would be used by college supporters to show that college is also a networking tool, or maybe a student could just want a change of scenery. For some people the number 1 reason to go to college is to go away/move to a new location. Some may want to just escape the cold and move down south, others may want to get out of small towns and explore the world. There can be many reasons to attend college like just to live in dorms and experience a home without parents, all of these prove to opposers that college is still worth

In our society today, college is something that one is expected to attend. Today, our place or position in society is mostly looked at by our education level rather than who the person truly is. Now society is also looking at this generation for us to know that to succeed, one might set high goals for their self, which means going to college and pursing a degree. On the other hand, there are some people in this world that graduated from high school and have never been to college and are just happy with their life like it is. There are two ways to look at this topic. One view is that college is worth the cost in the long run and another view is that college is not worth the cost at all. College is worth the cost. Yes, it can be expensive depending on where the high school graduate would like to attend, but education is something that is worth the cost and something one will never lose.
College is important for many reasons. In other words, in the article three by u.s department of education, states that It’s important to go to college because I get more opportunities such as getting a better job. Why is college so important? A few years ago, most people only obtained their high school diploma and would receive any job in the market, but colleges have become the twenty-first century key to success. Jobs are now being given to those who are more educated and college provides this extra education. It is not the same as high school. High school education consists of a more general knowledge, which is a small amount of information about all the topics, but college is focused on the major. College graduates have more comprehension in their area than those with a high school diploma. As President Theodore Roosevelt once said, “A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a university education, he may steal the whole railroad.” (Chicago Tribute). His point is that the more educated a person is; the higher goals they can obtain. College is the best way to succeed because it provides more education about deeper knowledge and moral value. It also opens up more job opportunities, and practical knowledge about the discipline and enlightened understanding.
