Dear aunt bessie, one million dollars you gave me will be used for the greater good of this nation. Nobody is doing good besides the rich. Children are working in factories, the women have no rights, people are being sold bad food, and others are tearing down forest destroying earth. It's just terrible, and this is where I will put my one million dollars. I will give 600,000 Thousand dollars will go to child labor. I've decided this one because the kids can die where they are working, the conditions are terrible at the workplaces, their just kids to they have way more opportunities to their life than just doing nothing but working and doing the same thing every day. The kids could die of just being young aged and always working constantly

On a long dirt road in a wooden farmhouse in Mississippi, lived Bessie Vanburen, her 4 children, and her husband John Vanburen. Bessie was a beloved mother who did everything for everyone else before seeing about herself. She had 3 ?boys and 1 girl. Jackson & Justin were the oldest boys who were identical twins. Jonathan was the middle son who had autism where he needed proper care for his health. Jennifer was the only girl & the baby who was always whining about having to do stuff with her brothers all the time. Bessie was a very caring young woman who didn?t work but did housewife chores all day every day. ?The more dirt around the house the more she felt the need to clean up. At the age of 16 Bessie found love while playing in the field yard with some friends. Mr. John Vanburen took her hand in marriage and started a family with her. Although, Bessie was a slave she was very sick but was too busy to focus on her health. ?She stayed in the field majority of the day while her husband go? out and work to provide. The kids would be tagging along with her because there weren?t any babysitters around the way. Bessie was very young with a life of her own. She had lost both of her parents in war ?and grew up raising herself after her grandparent?s? passed. Everything that the family had for dinner was
On April 15, 1894 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a baby girl named Elizabeth Smith was born. Her house was full, as she was one of seven children and a daughter to a Baptist minister. At age nine, Elizabeth lost her mother and one of her brothers. To make ends meet, she and her brother, Andrew, began to perform on the streets: She sang and danced and he played the guitar. As she grew older, Elizabeth went by the nickname ‘Bessie.’

Dorothy Day was born in Brooklyn in November 8th, 1897. Her entire family all took the writing field besides one of her three children. Day describes her young childhood at home as not very loving, especially coming from her father. Anytime she was standing in the presence of her father while she was at home, she remarks, “There was never a close embrace.” (Forest 4). However, it seemed that Day’s mother shared great affection and love for her children unlike her husband. Forest explains, “John, referring to Day’s father, seems to have found it easier to be with horses than with children.” In many books that discuss the life of Dorthy Day, Day’s father seemed to quote at times sayings from the Bible because he seemed to carry the book around
One thing you should never do is give up.Always stay true to yourself is another thing you should do.You could learn this from Betty Marie. She never gave up on herself while also staying true to herself. While she did that her career was getting better.
I will allot the grant to the Move for Hunger Organization. They are a non-profit organization that help to ensure a successful food drive for students and young adults. They provide guidance and resources otherwise not available to many people hosting food drives. Move for Hunger also safeguards any money or food raised and help to deliver it to the local food bank. In the past three years Move for Hunger has helped people like me raise over 4 million meals. Move for Hunger will use the $5,000 to help publicize the ongoing food drives by collaborating with local TV news stations, radio stations, and by sending professional ads and flyers to the person hosting the food drive. Move for Hunger will also use the grant to help raise food for their
Child labor is a very important issue that our society faces and really should not be a part of our society so I have chosen to give three hundred thousand dollars to stop child labor all together in America.
You ever give money to good cause? With one million dollars I would donated to three groups. Major issues that we face in our time now days, but if I could stop those issues before they got worse. We got kids in factories, having their backs broken for 15 cents a day. Women fighting for their rights, bad food coming off the rack. Tree’s being destroyed for more open land, to develop new areas. I’ll walk you through my donation’s list and amounts. Among that I will explain why I have chosen these groups, facts that are need to know.
In “The Singer Solution to World Poverty,” Singer argues that all households should donate a percentage of their incomes to charity. Majority of the American population is satisfied with donating little to nothing to those in need, but seldom rethink the purchase of the luxury items. It is a commonly accepted fact that those who work for their earnings are deserving of the monies that they receive. Unfortunately, those in third world countries that don’t have the same resources and opportunities are unable to sustain their livelihood. Some children in third world countries suffer from deprivation of food and shelter; while those that are fortunate enough to have jobs are paid only cents a day. Mrs. Bessie Vanburen was married by time she reached the aged of thirteen. She wed a man of the name Rudolph Vanburen. Bessie Rudolph had their own little business of being animal groomers. No animal was too big or too small for the Vanburens to groom. Bessie had a special type of love for horses, especially a black mustang. Bessie and Rudolph lived in the state of Virginia, and because of the very cold winters, it was hurting their business. So they decided to move to Montana where the weather is better for their business. While in the process of moving, Bessie became very ill the whole time they was on the road to head to Montana. Because of Bessie?s full-size figure, she just thought that she put on a few extra pounds from stressing about their
Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”, yet the world still looks the same to me. Chicago needs to address the lack of accessibility to higher learning institutions. Education is about creating communities that challenge the current paradigm. It’s about identifying and solving the social and institutional problems that pose a threat or disadvantage some groups and advantage others. However, students who are not receiving a post-secondary education are more likely to have fewer workforce opportunities, or be unable to obtain a stable income. So the question is exactly ‘what socioeconomic factors are affecting low college retention rates?’
Coming into a new work environment where there are complex problems, a leader can feel somewhat like a janitor, cleaning up one mess only to discover there is another on the next floor. What leader needs in situations like this is; the trust of the employees, the cooperation of the current senior staff and an open line of communication with all of the employees. These are not things easily gained or achieved when coming into a chaotic environment. Chuck Mackinnon had this issue in his two of his recent employments, which forced him to question the limits of his position and what was the best course of action in each difficult situation.
I am almost in high school, that means I will have to start looking at colleges and careers. Recently in Ms.Pennington’s ELA class I have been looking at possibilities for a career on cfnc.org. One of my goals for this paper is to find out what career fits me best by using cfnc. A second goal I would like to accomplish is to look at careers that match my personality. Finally my third goal is to look at colleges that fit my career I choose.
