Nowadays, the issue of whether the death penalty should be abolished in China is still a controversial topic. Many people think death penalty is a bad way to punishment criminals because this method violates humanitarianism and it’s also a bit cruel. Besides, two of third countries in the world have abolished it. So many people say our country should do the same thing. Thence, from China’s national condition to think, as well as for people’s life security and social harmony, the death penalty should be remained. Secondly, in legal system. What is the death penalty? It is the highest type of punishment for a murderer or convicted felon to be punished by our government legally through death. The death penalty defended the fairness of the law. Capital punishment has the potential to lower crime rates; it could provide a safer society for us and make us realize the value of life, where the main advantage of its usage is to counter the illegal activities. The existence of the death penalty is necessary. Especially we can save society resource, the society doesn’t have duty to costs much money for a convict all life in jail. It is very expensive to hold someone in prison for life. Life prisoners stay in prison on average for 30 to 40 years at a cost of$40,000 to$50,000 per year, In the economic, this kind of government expenditures is not necessary, even in recession ,it will be a burden of government .Comparing with life imprisonment, the death penalty is more effective to combat crime. If an official commits graft crime and be sentenced to life. Then their family bribe governor to shorter sentences, therefore the life imprisonment will change to term of imprisonment, or some people use the excuse which be released on bail for medical service to get rid of legal penalties.
