In health care, the nurse holds many responsibilities. The nurse must care for a patient by following the physician’s orders, assessing labs and objective data, in addition to discerning needs for the patient discharge plan. The discharge plan should be initiated soon after the patient is admitted to the hospital. The nurse, along with the interdisciplinary team, will assess the patient needs for returning home, with the nurse providing much of the discharge education. The purpose of this discussion is to choose two learning objectives for the Shadow Health patient Tina Jones. I will describe the teaching methods I would use, discuss how I would evaluate Tina’s learning, and list any possible barriers to learning. I will also relate this to
I can honestly say that my favorite TV show right now is The Wendy Williams Show. I have been watching the Wendy Williams show since she first aired. The show did not immediately draw my attention until I noticed Wendy bringing in some very amazing celebrity guest appearances. That’s when I suddenly began to tune in more and more each day. The very sassy, glib fashionista herself simultaneously emerged with more exciting news from each new episode.
Judith Ortiz Cofer is a Puerto Rican whose writing often examines the conflict and the beauty of cultures mixing together, as people immigrate to America. Though she exhibits a strong connection to her Latin heritage, she often seems to also resent that part of her life. There are many standards and expectations in the Puerto Rican society which Cofer writes to subvert, viewing them negatively. As a Puerto Rican woman, Cofer often disagrees with the limits and expectations placed on a woman in Puerto Rican society, and this attitude is the subject of much of her work. In “Claims,” the speaker describes “Grandmother.” Cofer uses this poem to illustrate a family and describe an individual, as well as

Deborah Lacks is introduced by Skloot using an illustrating a description of Deborah's adolescence. Deborah is faced with many challenges in her life like not knowing who her mother really was. On page 206, chapter 25 the text says “And Deborah started handing out newsletters about her mother and the cells, saying, “I just want y'all read what's on this paper! And tell everybody! Bring it around . We want everybody in the world to know about my mother.” This shows how much Deborah cared to know about her mother and her cells. Even though her family didn't have much interest in them, Deborah took matters into her own hands and collected information to find out more about her mother.

In Rebecca Jones’ article, “Finding the Good Argument OR Why Bother With Logic”, she states her claim as being argument is a metaphor for war. She explains that argument happens between two people who are on opposite points of view on an issue, where one person is trying to get the other one to think about what they are saying and where their view is coming from. Jones states that arguments are known to be “bad”, “heated”, and “violent.” (156). She then uses examples like the comic strips of an argument that seem to be a cat fight, a metaphor about an argument being like a war which means there are only two sides, only one side should win and a compromise means defeat. She also states that to be able to understand a person’s logic, we have
This book was probably the most brutal reading I’ve ever read. However, I found it incredibly eye-opening and excruciatingly honest about what life can be like for girls in impoverished and uneducated situations. Sapphire’s writing makes her character, Precious, seem real by incorporating her feelings, questions, and by writing in altered English grammar to make it seem as if her feelings are being spoken. I really enjoyed reading this book as it brought life and sensitivity to the statistics I’ve been reading about in my nursing clinicals and classes this semester.

In the essay Mistress in the Making, Stephanie Jones-Rogers explains in detail how Southern woman were taught how to be slave owners from a young age. The author also explains how enslaved people were taught at an early age how to be enslaved people. In 1847 it was normal for parents to ensure that their daughters had property, land and most importantly enslaved people. Enslaved people were gifted during special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas or just because. If a Master died and had no will, the children would write the enslaved people names on a stick which they would draw and claim a new slave.
Many researchers and voters believe “Mary Jane” will cause Californian students’ academic performance to decline if marijuana becomes legalized; however, some do not accept this theory. While “Mary Jane” is constantly put down, new sources have proven that since the legalization of cannabis, teenagers have not increased their use of medical marijuana (Borchardt). “One of the biggest worries about legalized medical marijuana was that teenagers would smoke more pot, but it turns out those fears were wrong” (Borchardt). Since the legalization, the unincreased use of marijuana has not affected the academic performance of students. On a report from a National Survey on Drug Use, says other sources believe that the use of marijuana is increasing,

Welcome to Bixby, a seemingly normal town in Oklahoma. Possibly a very stereotypical Midwestern rural community, Bixby is all about dirt roads and country living. What could possibly be strange about this unexciting place? A group of high school students; Rex, Dess, Melissa, and Jonathan sure know. They hold the power to walk in the secret 25th hour of the day; one that was made purely to keep humans out.
In reviewing Godfrey’s papers, I believe she went above and beyond her role as the assistant art supervisor for Virginia. She created meticulous hand drawn organizational charts that articulated the administrative structure for art education in secondary schools, designing curriculum and classroom layouts, and was instrumental for the first statewide art education conference at Hampton Institute. She also met with executive directors of the Virginia Association and state officials discussing how to integrate art education in the school programs, and development curricula on teacher training (Mary Godfrey Papers, box 1, folder 2). Furthermore, not only was Godfrey a highly effective art supervisor, she was a talented artist. Virginia State
The falling action occurs after the argument about Katherine abruptly ends, as First Woman begins to leave. The First Woman began to address another point in the Katherine argument, but then she curtly changes the subject to address the fact that she rightfully gets fifty percent of the estate. Then the first woman begins to leave, marking the end of the heated part of the argument. After this point, Second Woman is arguing less and begins to plead more. The conflict becomes somewhat resolved as First Woman asserts that the estate will be appraised and presumably sold.
