The Reason Deer Hunting is a Benefit
Deer hunting is something I personally think is a great thing with many benefits. One of the benefits is it lowers human-deer conflicts and is a way to keep people safe. Another is that deer hunting is a tradition and a way of life. There are many other benefits of deer hunting but these are just a few I chose to talk about. By the end of my writing I hope you agree. Deer hunting has many benefits one of which is it lowers human-deer conflicts. Four percent of car accidents per year are deer-car collisions. That doesn’t seem like much, but out of the 6.1 million car accidents per year that’s about 244,000 car accidents. According to the article, “If hunting were lost as a management tool,
Honestly, there are pros and cons to Kristof’s theory that hunting is the best way to reduce the deer population. There are multiple pros about hunting. Some pros are that it is a great way for humans to connect with nature, for some it is to carry on family traditions, and is an easy way to control the deer population. However, the cons outweigh the pros. A few that stand out are animal suffering, individuals who overhunt, and the deathly hunting accidents that have occurred. Kristof states there are 150 deadly car accidents caused by deer, but I found that, “In 2007, there were 122 unintentional firearm deaths in children, and an additional 3,060 nonfatal gun and shooting accidents” (Iannelli). This statistic does not even include adults. These deadly hunting accidents are about equal to the amount of deadly car accidents caused by deer. Kristof basically says hunting will decrease the deer population, which should decrease car accidents, but hunting is causing just as many fatal accidents. The cycle for causing deaths never ends; our world is a dangerous place, making it hard to solve issues like this. All in all, hunting can help decrease the overpopulated deer, but I do not agree that it is the safest and best or only solution out
Hunting is a common activity all around the world, and if performed properly, can have many benefits to us and the rest of the planet. The art of hunting has been around since the beginning of time. Living off of the land used to be a necessity across the world, until the mass production of food came along. In America, people do not usually need to hunt to survive. However, the population of animal species needs to be controlled. Too many of one type of animal can cause a drastic change to any ecosystem. Food supplies decline quickly, leaving many animals without food. Hunting can help keep the population of a group of animals at a good number, making the lives of the other
Hunting is something we've done since we've been on this planet. We used to do it out of necessity, but in the modern world we do it for many other reasons. As technology has increased, we have developed different methods of hunting. These methods have carried over to today, but two have prevailed: bowhunting and rifle hunting. These methods are both hunting--obviously--but they're different in almost every other sense. Bowhunting and rifle hunting are different based on the weapon used, the way you hunt, and your connection with the animal and the land around it; however, the same in the way the respective methods bring people together.
“Hunting is good for the environment because one it helps keep down on the deer herd and other animals that are hunted.”(Smith) ”When you hunt you help herds of animals from getting to over populated. When the deer herds are kept to a lower number there is less likely of a chance for diseases to start to get spread around in return killing off a lot of the deer herd. Hunting to keep down on the deer herd also helps prevent interbreeding. When there gets to be too many deer in one herd there is a good possibility that interbreeding can occur and then birth defects could occur as well as health problems. When deer herds are kept to a low number there is not as much of a chance for deer and vehicle crashes to happen. When there is smaller deer herds that are controlled by hunting the
In America, deer are an animal hunted widely throughout our country. Each winter citizens have mixed emotions about the sport. Some say its barbaric and cruel, while others argue that it’s beneficial and useful. Although people may say hunting is cruel and barbaric, have they ever thought about the upsides to be gained from hunting? While this is a topic that can be argued viciously back and forth, I believe hunters win the argument. Deer hunting keeps the population down, protects farmers’ crops, boosts economic sales, betters a person’s mental health, and teaches lifelong lessons on respect. These are just a few of the amazing benefits that can be gained from hunting.
Predators, hunters, and habitat contribute to the increasing densities of whitetail deer in some locations. The populations of predators, wolves and cougars, have greatly declined in suburban areas. This declination has helped with the increase of the deer population. Since the 1970’s the number of hunters has been declining. This may be because of the number of people that do not believe in recreational, or sport hunting. For some hunting has become a hobby to show off and brag about causing others to be turned off to the whole idea of hunting. Although hunting can be popular it is prohibited in parks,
I personally agree that hunting is extremely necessary. I think that whether it's for food or for a sport it doesn't make a difference. I hunt so I can personally say that it is important and I can see why some people enjoy it. It takes a variety of skills and a lot of patients. It also does keep animal populations down which lowers the amount of road killed deer. This is extremely beneficial for drivers because when you hit a deer it can do a lot of damage to the vehicle and endanger the occupants of the
Approximately 100 people die in hunting accidents in US every year. The reason hunting is sometimes so bad is because people have turned it into sports instead of a way of life. The thing that most people do not realize that is bad is over hunting because it can lead to extinction.
Hunting has become a staple of American traditions since the beginning of the first hunter/gatherers, to the Native Americans who have lived in the U.S for millennia, even all the way until present day. Much of today’s society looks at hunting as a cruel activity when in reality it has more of a positive effect on the environment than it does harm. There are an abundance of benefits that come from hunting. Some of the benefits of hunting are: it is the biggest contribution to conserving wildlife, the meat is healthier than commercially produced meat, many jobs are being supported out of hunting, and every hunter wants “to bag” the trophy animal; however, there are a few cons to this, which include poaching and interference by the activist
It is impossible to discuss deer at all without talking about deer management, because there is there hardly a deer alive in America today that is not directly influenced by man. We control the water the deer drinks, the food that it eats, and the land that it lives on, and we regulate the manner, sex, and amount of deer harvested. The problem lies in the way we manage the deer herd. The time has come to practice Quality Deer Management.
When a Minnesota dentist killed a prized African lion named "Cecil" he received an onslaught of criticism and reignited the debate concerning hunting. I hunt. I have hunted for years and I don't see anything wrong with it. The reasons I hunt are for the meat, I think it tastes better than store-bought meat and it doesn't have any additives in it, and for the time I get to spend out in the mountains. However, there are some people who are against hunting.
Deer hunting is a very demanding hobby. The one thing that everyone must keep in mind when hunting is your safety and the safety of others. The reason for this is that you are using a weapon that can cause serious harm to you or someone, but this is not what this essay is about. I want everyone to actually learn what it takes to be a hunter. Being a hunter takes skill and understanding how deer sense things.
All hunting in the United States of America charge the same hunting restrictions. So people do not over kill or they become extinct. It would be unfair to let people run and shoot any animal as much as they want. In Texas hunting restrictions are good so we do not over kill and it controls population, which is good for the environment.
A reason I believe people can benefit from hunting is economics. According to the text, people can benefit from hunting that has to do with economics (lin 1). It doesn’t cost anything to hunt unless you have to buy a gun, bullets, or camouflage clothing. Hunting can benefit the economy. According to the text, Benefits of Hunting, North Carolina got $511,546,347 from people buying hunting related objects (lin 1). All the tax money earned from people who buy hunting supplies goes to the state to improve their towns.
Pros of hunting claims that It is good because there could be to much of deer or turkey and the parents want the kids to get out and hunt .hunting season will help to get there kids outside to hunt in stead them stupid video games. hunting is good for the environment because it controls animal populations and it benefits kids.
