1. Define the strategic principle of: Mission Statements.
As the authors Dess, McNamara, and Eisner pointed out in the text book, the mission statements is " a set of organizational goals that includes the purpose of the organization, its scope of operations, and the basis of its competitive advantage". (p.26) In other words, a mission statement communicates why the firm exists and how they are going to respond to their stakeholders. In order for a mission statement be successful it has to have the following: a clear and specific knowledge of the purpose of the business, it has to inspires and motivates the business 's stakeholders, reflect what differentiates them from the competitors, and it has to be easy to understand and easy to …show more content…

In my opinion, a personal mission statement has the same foundation in its creation as the mission of an organization. In both, we try to communicate what our purpose is, why we are special, and how it is intended to please our client (stakeholders). In a personal statement, you might focus on actions and decisions toward things that are most important to the individual.
My personal mission statement would be:
"Being an example of dedication, sacrifice, overcoming, humanity, and achievement for my family."
4. What role does a leader play in creating an Environmentally Aware Organization? Are there any things you think a leader should not do, if so, what is each of these 'things '?
Is imperative that a leader be aware of the organization 's environment. As Ram Charan pointed out, managers become environmentally aware when they understand his concept of perceptual acuity, which is "the ability to sense what is coming before the fog clears." (p.38) The leaders or managers of an organization have to be involved in the inputs of forecasting. The leader 's role includes: (p.39)
