Christopher Reeve once said “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Usually, when the word “hero” comes to mind people think of a superhero such as Superman, or someone who is or was fighting for their country. While yes, these are examples of heroes, most people don’t think to include ordinary average people as heroes. One can represent heroism by facing challenges and taking action, staying courageous, and not giving up no matter the sacrifices they have to make, including their well-being or in some cases their life. A true hero may not be rich, or even well-known to people. A hero can be ordinary. An average person. A hero will take action, and will face any challenge that will come their way. Roman Rolland once said “A hero is a man who does what he can.” This quote essentially says: no matter what comes their way, a hero will do what is needed at the time, and a hero will take on and face danger if he or she needs to.
