Definition Essay: What Does True Friendship Mean?

What defines a friendship? I believe friendship has no definition. Through my fifteen years on this earth I have developed an understanding of how friendship works, but I don’t feel there is a perfect definition for what it means to be a friend. Out of all the friendships I have had I cannot say there is a single one the same. Friends are often described as people one can relate to, but I have found I don’t have to relate to someone to form a friendship. For example, I enjoy becoming friends with people from different walks of life. These friends help expand my knowledge. A true friendship is something that everyone wants to have but not everyone can have it.

If you look up the connotation of the word “friendship” you’ll find a bland definition like “Friendship - the emotions or conduct of friends; the state of being friends”. Now I know Its significance is something more, TRUE friendship is an unbreakable bond. You’re there for each other through thick and thin. It’s something that is cherished and cannot be replaced, that is what true friendship

True friends, who are they really? They will stand up for their friends and back them when no one else will. True friendship is a kind of closeness that won't fail, even if one were to move away, no matter what the distance.

Friendship can be described in many ways. Friendship can mean love, loyalty or even fun. For me friendship is more of loyalty. Loyalty for me is very important in a friendship because, like everyone has their own secrets that wants to share with someone of confidence or that are loyal to you. But for example their is many people that they pass themselves by being great and loyal friends. Until one day, that you have revealed your secrets to that person maybe that, that person goes and tell everybody else. But, otherwise i have this friend that has been with me since day one. She became like my sister to me she has always helped me with things and has always kept my secrets safe, her name is Ashley just like i've always kept her secrets safe

When was the last time someone wondered about what is true friendship? True friendship means to me that they will always have your back.

“Friendship isn’t about whom you’ve known the longest… it’s about who came and never left your side…” Some people may ask, what is friendship? This question can be seen in many different ways. It can be defined as a type of relationship between two people who care about each other. Examples of having a friend can include going shopping, going to the movies, traveling together, having lunch/dinner, attending gatherings (Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthday parties, weddings, etc.). A friend can also bring happiness to you by coming to a boring event and make it fun and memorable.

What makes a real friend?, a person that is a real friend is a person that cares about you and looks after you, but also they can be someone you can have fun and joke around with. A real friend is someone who you can trust so you can tell them something and they won’t tell other people you, the information you don’t want shared. Personally, I look for someone who is trustworthy so I can tell them personal information, someone who cares about me, someone I can fun with, and someone with which we share similar likes and dislikes. Have I ever broken a friendship?, yes and no, because my best friend from elementary school moved while we were going into the sixth grade, although it wasn’t really broken, we stopped talking for a while, but currently
