There was a girl named Demeness, she was the goddess of darkness. Not many people liked her. Everyone thought she was weird and creepy. Probably because she’d always have a raven next to her as a little companion. Every time Demeness went outside and she’d go walking to the park. Maybe it was her safe place, watching children play outside people having a good day. This is what Demeness dreams of having in her life. Just a peaceful and calm day. Demeness would always think about her sister, Aerodite all the time. She’d think of the whole world for her, but sometimes they would have their goods and bads. Demeness would get jealous of her a lot because the other gods would choose Aerodite instead of Demeness. Maybe they don’t choose Demeness …show more content…
Shadow Said, “Alright, I guess I should come too.” Demeness ran downstairs and went to the front door. She opened the door then so many people outside were shouting at her calling her a monster for what she has done to their people. “I can explain! I didn’t mean to, I couldn’t help it.” Demeness Cried. “We don’t care you should be in the dungeons! This is a crime!!” The people shouted. Demeness then slammed the door shut and locked the front door. “I’m so sorry.. Why do people dislike me? Even though I tell them, they still wouldn’t care. They just want me locked up in a prison.” Demeness said with tears going down her face. 5 Months later…. Shadow said worried, “It’s been 5 months since you’ve stayed inside, Demeness. When are you going to come outside!” Demeness answered, “whenever people start to like me instead of disliking me for who I am.” “Just because people dislike you doesn’t mean you have to go so hard on yourself. Just be yourself, if people don’t like you for who you are, ignore them you are unique in your own way.” Said
“ Demeter finally figured out that if she go near where people worshiped her and even believed in her, there want be a point that she will have a problem with anyone .”(Koukakis) “ At first Demeter was different from the other gods and goddesses since she was so harsh, but when she saw the manifest of the others she realized she was different and started being nice to people .”(Koukakis) “ Now when we look back in the past, Demeter is one of the oldest and most important gods and goddesses that there was of the ancient Greek pantheon
“I am not concerned with your liking or disliking me….All I ask is that you respect me as a human being.”
She takes advantage of her passion for the darkness as a way of persuading her side of the argument, placing greater favor upon the peacefulness in darkness versus chaos in the light. Also her description of her emotions when she is surrounded by darkness suggests that our busy lives in the light have taken relaxation away from our lives; darkness helps us fall back into simpler times and serenity.
If you don’t want to get criticized any more try to become friends with those who criticized you. Be nice, cam, and collective, because that will get you trust. Do something about what you want, hard work and dedication will get you what you want and you will be happy with it. If you get want you want, putting your own work into it, you will be happy with it because, you will know that you got it yourself. You will also treat others with respect and care for others.
“You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.”- Thích Nhat Hanh . This quote means that it doesn't matter what others think of you it’s just matters what you think of yourself. In the novel, The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton addresses the theme of accepting yourself for who you are, and not to let others change you. It is implied by S.E. Hinton that people should learn to embrace themselves for who they are and not to change if others don’t accept you or have prejudice towards you.
After Demeter’s failed attempt to immortalize the son of King Kleos, she recedes to her temple in Eleusis and her wrath pushes her to prevent the growth of any plant or crops. Her action of halting the growth of vegetation not only illustrates her anger for her failure of turning Demophoon into an immortal, but most importantly, to express her never-ending fury in regards to the abduction of Persephone. This act is not only detrimental to mortals, but also to the gods which enables her to gain some leverage or power over them. “And now she would have destroyed the whole race of mortal men / with painful famine, and she would have deprived / the Olympians of the splendid honor of gifts and sacrifices” (H. Dem. 310-312) This evidence shows the semblance of power that Demeter has over both humans and gods. The power that she holds over them enables her to openly express her fury and to compel them to meet her demands of letting her reunite with Persephone. Zeus’s actions of sending other gods to persuade Demeter or to send her gifts to quell her fury do not work and it implies that her hold over them is working. Her leverage is successful as it urges Zeus to compromise with her by sending Hermes to the Underworld to persuade Hades to let Persephone meet her mother. Her leverage over the gods by threatening the growth of vegetation allows her
Assef called the guards back into the room. “I want you to listen to me,” he said to them. “In a moment, I’m going to close the door. Then he and I are going to finish an old bit of business. No matter what you hear, don’t come in! Do you hear me? Don’t come in!”
“I overcame being worried bout people judging me. I use to worry a lot about that until I realized nobody can make me happy but me,” Taz
“Don’t move,” Thorn’s voice echoes from the front of the destroyed room and both men stop. She appears out of the rubble, behind them with a gun ready.
Echo slid into her room and locked the door. “How could she say that?” Echo asked herself, facing the door.
“Ouch!— you’re a mean one, why do I inspired you so much contempt? Have I disrespect you?” He asked as he kept his cold stare.
“You hated her. You went out of your way to make her life a misery.”
The one thing I learned growing up was to just be myself and not worry what others may think. It’s important to stick to what you think matters. Most of all, I think people should look at the big picture, instead of trying to impress the people around
“It’s fine. I get lonely sometimes.” Fay says, his voice is emotionless when he says this. “Some people hate me.”
If the world doesn’t like you for who you are, they ought to change their heart, and accept you. “There's a hope
