Queens Park the suburb is pretty new being recognised only since 1992. It has mostly long-term residents that often still refer to the area as Bondi Junction. That is because of its newness to the Eastern Suburbs as a suburb and because Bondi Junction is an easier to recognise. Eventually this suburb
It begins at Gilbert Dr. and Gregg Ave. and continues north up Gilbert Dr., west on Gladstone Blvd., north on Creswell Ave, east on Herndon St., south on Highland Ave, east on Olive St., south on Centenary Blvd back to Gladstone heading west, and ending at Gilbert Dr. and Gladstone Blvd.
The area I have chosen for this report is the center section of “The Junction”. The Junction is located on Dundas St. W between Runnymede Road and Keele Street, but for this report, I will be focusing on the section between St. John’s Place and Pacific Avenue. The Junction dates back to the 19th century and is known for its railway tracks. It has been its own independent village until it joined the City of Toronto in 1909 [1]. Today, the Junction still has a charming historical aura with many of its original historic buildings while it continues to develop as a thriving modern community.
There are two recreation centers, Colma Community Center and Sterling Park Recreation Center. Doctors and dentists offices are also located within the community. There are 2 outdoor shopping centers within 1 mile of each other. There are also numerous car dealerships along the street next to one of the shopping centers. During the day, families of all ages and all races are out in the community. There are a lot of crows that fly around and stray cats.
Halifax a city of innovation, ocean and community is one that has not been the same for the past 100 years. Downtown Halifax is one example of an area of the city that is always restoring and rebuilding to further the economy. There are many buildings that have been around since the eighteen-century along with new buildings that are being built with hopes of rejuvenation. Street corners are another aspect that can be analyzed to observe the changes in this city. The street corner that will be explored over the past 100 years is the intersection of Barrington and Prince Street. This corner will be analyzed through the use of Halifax archives and other historical websites to understand what the streets looked like to interpret how it felts
After a while, I was allowed to take walks around it. It was about four to five streets, 28th to 32nd, all perpendicular to one large street, Camelia. the fifth street going back into a cul-de-sac. The streets 28th and 29th and 30th and 31st connected to each other, in a U shape. Every house was the same; literally. They all had the same design, interior and exterior, save for maybe two to three houses that I saw through the whole neighborhood, the only difference between all of them being color-scheme, and me and my friends, or family friends, that lived in that neighborhood, were no exception to that
In the fictional play Our Town written by Thornton Wilder, he uses a stage manager, Mr. Morgan, to tell the story. His idea was to use a metatheatrical style in his work. Wilder uses modern stage presentation by experimenting with a scene-less stage, flexible jumps in time sequence, and imaginary props. There was no scenery nor a stage curtain used in this play. Wilder’s purpose in using a bare stage was to set his audience free from the meaningless particularity of the box-set. This play explores traditional American values of religion, and the simple pleasures in life. He tells us the story of a small town life back in the 1900s. This is a world that most of us have never experienced before. For example, there
The 45 Kipling route covers the lower and upper west side of Toronto. The route is very close to the edge of Toronto that borders Mississauga and Brampton. The route starts at Kipling station located at Saint Albans Road and Kipling Avenue. The end of the 45 Kipling route is located at Steeles Avenue West and Kipling Avenue. The 45 Kipling route passes through many neighborhoods as well as different areas that serve different uses. The first and most noticeable of which is the suburban residential area the route begins at. In this area, there is a number of different types of housing including older single-detached dwellings, duplexes, triplexes, townhouses, and modern single-detached homes. The area also consists of churches and schools, but mostly consists of housing. The majority of the area is suburban and hardly resembles a typical residential neighbourhood within the city of Toronto. It seems to have more in common with a suburb such as Vaughan. It is not until the route reaches Kipling Avenue and Dixon Road where it starts to feel more like Toronto, with high rise buildings and retail stores rather than a residential suburb.
Tunks Park - Locals love Tunks Park where they can be surrounded by leafy trees and a green landscape. Tunks Park, located along the shore of Middle Harbour, has a kids’ playground and an off-leash section for people with dogs. It also features three sports fields where seasonal sports like cricket, rugby, and soccer games are hosted. If you enjoy interesting walks, this park has easy-to-navigate bushwalking trails along the Northbridge and Naremburn.
The city is divided into 12 parts; Center City, South Philadelphia, West Philadelphia, Lower North Philadelphia, Upper North Philadelphia, Bridesburg- Kensington- Richmond , Roxborough- Manayunk, Germantown- Chestnut Hill, Olney (Oak Lane), Near Northeast Philadelphia, Far Northeast Philadelphia. In tier 3 there are 4-5: Allison mentioned "Roxbury center", "Edge", "EVA" and "new HR".
How many are there?
Lots of things affect what it is like to live in a street. This report looks at traffic, shops and schools, public transport, parks, litter, noise, how nice the houses are, trees and gardens, paths and lighting.
A city with variety of ethnic groups has benefits in culture development and in other aspects such as economy and education , which makes a city more diverse. People see diversity as a good thing to the society. However, segregation is also an inescapable problem among different races in city. “The Most Diverse Cities Are Often the Most Segregated” by Nate Silver who published his statement through FiveThirtyEight. The article discussed the relationship between the segregation and diversity of cities especially Chicago based on the three statistical measurements.
The answers to these questions sadly were never found. I thought this would be an interesting topic about Staunton. It was very interesting to find out how my hometown was
