One of the most effective ways to commit something to memory is by constantly reminding yourself of that specific thing until it is all you can think about. It takes over and consumes your thoughts. It has now moved from your short term memory to your long term memory. There are five different types of depression that prove this myth to be untrue. The major and most common type of depression is Major depression. This can occur anytime during a person’s life with warning. This feeling is similar to a person just being irritable or sad. The other less common four types of depression are Persistent Depressive Disorder, Psychotic Depression, Postpartum Depression and Seasonal Affective Disorder. The author’s claim is, “results of depression treatment are better if education to improve literacy is added to standard treatments for depression such as medication and counseling.” This is a very strong claim because with effective evidence, the article goes on to explain the research that backs this claim up. This title lacks uniqueness and is not captivating. It is extremely long, uninteresting, and could use an attention getter. The first impression is everything, and this article could potentially be overlooked due to the lack of a captivating title. If the title was shorter in length it would be more effective and easier to comprehend. The authors could have the titled the article, “The correlation between Literacy and a World Wide Problem.” This could have left the reader on the edge off their seats, wanting to read more because of the not yet revealed World Wide problem. The title gives you an automatic overview of what the argument could possibly be about.
