We all have been there. You worry about the bills. You worry about your kids, your spouse, you parents and your friends. You worry about what’s going on at work, especially that time you messed up the other day. Life is not lacking in things to worry about, and you can’t seem to do anything but worry. If this sounds like you, step back for a moment, breathe, and give one of the following holistic techniques a try.
Accept Your Anxiety
Whatever is bothering you is likely for a very good reason. The first step to get over your anxiety is to accept that it is both valid and justified. You aren’t just “being silly” or “worrying about nothing.” Don’t talk yourself down internally. Also recognize that whatever is bothering you won’t last forever; it is simply one of life’s tests. Life will go on and so will you. It is all a matter of enduring that test and moving forward. You can get through this.

It doesn’t matter where, just as long as it’s someplace that gives off a relaxing vibe. It can be your favorite park, a garden, a nature trail, whatever. Just get out of the house for a while and clear your mind. Some people find that they are much more able to solve a problem or face hardship after distracting themselves for a while.
Mindfulness Meditation
This form of meditation is one that can be done anytime, anywhere. It isn’t difficult, either; all that it entails is taking a moment to focus on what you are feeling physically during a particular moment in time, be it your breathing, the scent in the air or the sensations your body is feeling as you perform the task at hand. One idea to make this easier is to buy a pair of earplugs and just listen to your heartbeat or breathing when you get stressed. It may not sound like much, but will find yourself gradually calming down as your thoughts are put on the back burner.
A wise person once said, "Worrying is like walking around with an umbrella waiting for it to rain. " People may say that you can simply take the umbrella away, others may just convince you to change your mind and just trust there will be no rain. Someone with anxiety cannot simply remove these thoughts quite so easily. Like telling someone to just brush the worry off or just forget about the anxiety, convincing someone that it will not rain is nearly impossible. The anxiety within a person controls their life and the decisions they make.
Some may say, in regards to worrying, is to practice the art of not worrying or take control of your feelings. Unfortunately, this notion is better said than done. Emotions can not be practiced nor can they be easily controlled. Emotions are like currents in a body of water. Each drifting through one’s conscience at their own pace and direction undisturbed by what may be in their way. However, worry is not like other emotions. Worry is more similar to oil. Worry masks the beauty and the pureness of all other emotions. Until, the only emotion one feels is
-Notice how happy and relaxed you are in this safe and beautiful place… -Notice the calmness and relaxation in your body… -and if other thoughts crowd your mind that is okay… -just gently turn your focus back to your breathing -and with each breath, inhale calmness and relaxation -and exhale tension and stress -Take some time to enjoy and explore this safe and beautiful spot -Breath in calmness and relaxation -- -and exhale tension and stress -Notice how this calmness and relaxation feels in your body -Let go of whatever may be bothering you in the
Learning to calm down quickly can be beneficial as well. The five senses play a large part in calming down. Seeing a beautiful view of the ocean or sunset, listening to soothing music, lighting scented candles, cooking a delicious meal for you to eat, or wrapping yourself in a warm blanket can all help with anxiety. Connecting with others and having friendships can also help a lot. GAD can cause anxiety in relationships and friendships. “Perhaps you tend to read into what people say or assume the worst when a friend or partner doesn’t respond the way you expected or hoped. As a result, you may need lots of reassurance from others or become paranoid and suspicious,” (Smith, Segal, and Segal). Changing lifestyles by having healthy eating patterns, limiting caffeine and sugar intake, exercising, avoiding alcohol and drug substances, and getting enough sleep can be advantageous to someone with anxiety.
People with anxiety disorders or (social phobia) are extremely anxious about what they will say or do in front of other people. This includes public speaking and day-to-day social situations, but it is more than just being shy or nervous before public speaking. The fear can begin weeks or months before an event. It can cause a fast heartbeat and make it hard to focus. To continue, anxiety disorders occur along with mental or physical illness. Each anxiety disorder has many different symptoms, but all symptoms cluster around excessive, irrational fear, and dread. To go along with, anxiety disorders are treatable. If you think you have a disorder, talk to your doctor, if your anxiety is diagnosed the pattern of co-occurring
When dealing with stress this week, the first technique I tried was taking a walk in nature. For this technique, I walked around the walkway in the park behind my house and tried to relax and forget about what I had to do when I got home. The idea behind using nature for stress relief is to enjoy the beauty that was created by God. The only problem with this technique for me, is that I am someone that does not enjoy the outdoors, so walking around outside and trying to find stress relief in nature was very difficult for me. According to Emily Main from the Prevention website (2012), “[w]ide open spaces mean more opportunities to boost your health. For one thing, getting outside forces you to get a little exercise, and exercise is the best natural mood booster there is…there’s just something about being in our natural element that’s hard to beat…” While there may be many health benefits, this technique is something that possibly does not work for everyone, myself included. Growing up I have always had to stay around home for my sister, and I have gotten to used to being inside that I am not used to going to nature for solstice.
Life: high expectations, strict family, and difficult tasks. GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) had been my major issue; it felt like I can trust nobody. I acted more vigorously to hide myself, but it seemed to get worse. I had all the anticipations from my parents; I wasn’t reaching their expectations; I constantly felt guilty and shameful.
What exactly is an anxiety attack? What are the symptoms of having anxiety? How do those diagnosed with anxiety cope with this disorder? I had to pleasure of recently speaking with a close relative, about how they cope with anxiety daily. I learned that anxiety has the ability to alter one’s entire lifestyle, depending on the severity of the disorder.
A lot of men and women suffer every single day from a rather invisible disability, panic and anxiety disorders. These particular disorders can occur quite differently from one particular person to another, but symptoms typically consist of feelings of apprehension or fear, jumpiness, excess perspiration, difficulty breathing, increased heartbeat, and trouble concentrating.
Think, for example, of your computer. A brand new computer tends to perform faster; it shows no errors and it does not crash. It is efficient because it takes shorter time for loading stuffs and it gets you what you want with it in an instant. However, after months of usage and saving files, you may notice that it no longer works the way it used to be, and given years, it may well be completely unusable. That is because it also experiences aching due to overuse. The next thing you know, you’ll get all worried and stressed because of its intolerable performance. Technicians would suggest reformatting. Doctors would suggest you to detoxify.
The first step to releasing worry from your life is accepting the problem you are facing. My struggle started when I learned my brother, Sam, had AML leukemia and would have to undergo chemotherapy treatments. It is important that people get the facts and

After researching many different websites almost all website gave a list of ways to reduce or prevent having anxiety all together. First thing to do is laugh it off. Sounds a little odd right? Well let me explain. When the body laughs even if it is a fake laugh the body instantly releases a chemical known as Dopamine. This chemical is a "feel good" chemical. It is the chemical that makes the human body feel more cheerful. Thus allowing the anxiety to calm down. The second thing on the list is to have a scheduled relaxation time. Throughout the day the body tends to become tense and can become extremely stressed some days. In order to reduce the tension, and stress levels it is best to set a time aside to have relaxation time. Allow the body to relax for at least thirty minutes by taking slow deep breaths, and allowing all the problems to just be gone for those thirty minutes. The next step is to read a book, practice yoga, or even just drinking tea. Allowing the body to relax even just for a short while will allow tension and stress to be majorly reduced. The third and final thing to reduce anxiety is to eat healthy. Have someone ever told you the saying " you are what you eat?" Well that is actually
- Quiet environment - if you are a beginner, meditation will be easier if you are in a quiet place, where no one and nothing will disturb, including off the TV, radio and mobile phone.
