Colombia is a tropical country where you can find during all year a enormous variety of fruits and vegetables. This is one of the reasons whereby people eat healthy. In contrast, the United States has seasons, their crops just produce season’s vegetables and fruits. Instead of fruits and vegetables, the supermarkets offer frozen food, you can prepare it faster without complications. Additionally, in the United States sodas are offered in every place and the restaurants refill them for free. It is one of the reasons whereby children drink sodas early. On the contrary, Colombian people cook the food on the traditional way. That means peel, cut and cook the vegetables. Usually, they drink fruit juices several times on the day. Colombian children drink less soda than American children. On the other hand, an American baby is feeding with cookies, milk with flavors, yogurt and preserve fruits while a Colombian baby is feeding with chicken soups, vegetables soup and fresh fruits. Though, fry food is famous in the United States and they love it by cause of it is cheaper and they can buy it in several places. In Colombia is less common. Despite United States of America and Colombia are located in the same hemisphere significant differences in food, natural resources and tourist attractions make each country quite distinct from the other.
Are there differences between living in Puerto Rico and living in the United States? I believe that there are big differences. I came to the United States when I was five years old. I then moved to Philadelphia for one year, lived in Georgia for six years, and now I am currently living in Maryland. I always go back to Puerto Rico to visit my family. I love it there. Columbians are an especially proud honorable people and this is reflected by the formal and respectful way they always address each other.
