Romiette and Julio The book that I have been reading is Romiette and Julio by Sharon Draper. In this book, the theme is love overcomes hate. Because this book is written in third person and is told through multiple points of view, the theme is easier to grasp. All of these characters and events take place in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The setting takes place in present day Texas throughout the whole novel. The main characters were Sunny Reynolds (14) who was the main detective of the novel, and the younger sister of the dead sister, who died in a fire in New York, but was deeply loved by everyone, Deborah Hallard a girl who looked and pretended to be Jasmine Reynolds (the girl who died), but knew everything about her and her family, and Dan and Lily Reynolds the parents of Sunny and Jasmine. Dan had a drinking problem, and Lily was depressed because of her beloved daughter who was dead, Jasmine. The mystery of the story was when a letter arrived to Sunny’s house from her dead sister, two months after her sister passed away. It said that Jasmine was going to come home because she ran away even though she was reported dead. When Jazz arrived at her family’s doorstep, everyone besides Lily knew that it wasn’t the real Jasmine. They weren’t sure who she was, why she was at their home pretending to be someone who she wasn’t, and how she knew everything about the Reynold’s family and their secrets. The detective in the novel was Sunny Reynolds. She was always trying to find clues about the girl pretending to be her sister, calling people to get as much information as possible, and would even look through the girl’s bags even if that risked her getting caught because unlike some people, she had nothing
In Chapter 2 Postman revisits his credence from Chapter 1 that our definitions of truth are defined in large part by the technologies through which a society receives that truth. To help his argument, he introduces the word "resonance" which he attributes in a particular meaning to scholar Northrop Frye. According to Frye, resonance is when "a particular statement in a particular context acquires a universal significance". Whether it is a literary character like Jay Gatsby or just a regular metaphore, objects can gain larger importance because of the context in which we understand them. They obtain a larger significance than their physical nature suggests, precisely because they become metaphors. An example for when Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald

This story... Where to begin? The main character suffers migraines after a traumatic incident that killed her friends. Cady (the protagonist) doesn’t know what she’s missing of Summer 15, but from the reader’s perspective and the looming foreshadowing, it’s obviously extremely important to her background. Her cousins and aunts aren’t allowed to say anything that may jostle her memories, she’s supposed to remember on her own. Gat, Mirren, Johnny, and Cadence spend the majority of the writing piece leading
