.4.2 Navigation Mechanism
Customers accessing commercial websites could find navigation easy or difficult depending on the structure of the web page and the positioning of the navigation buttons. This raises an important question, what are the elements that affect the navigation? These elements could bring the feeling of satisfaction or even lost and disorientation to the customers (Mari Carmen, Uti and Herre 2012). He went further to outline some of these elements that affect navigation as the organisation of the layout; Navigation path complexity and even more, but these two are relevant to this report.
It is often good to keep the layout consistent and very simple with the entire navigation buttons clearly shown, example the navigation menu at the top or side of the page. More so, the navigation path should be very simple and not complex. Therefore, for a good usability experience, an effective navigation mechanism should be adopted.
2.4.3 Colour Scheme
Most often the decision for the choice of a colour for a web design is quite difficult for web developers, this is because colour is subjective. It is based on an individual’s perception, hence what a web developer thinks would be a good colour for a website could turn out to be horrible for the individual users (customer in this case). Bearing this in mind, it is always good to be meticulous in choosing a colour that is based on the specific targeted market we want to attract (Sik-Lányi 2012).
Furthermore, before
From here we will be able to streamline the process for the users to get from one link to another link enabling the user to navigate the site easility. There are many aspects we must look at when we are gathering this information to allow for the best information provided to the customer
Information on the site should be available both in colour and without colour. This requirement calls on web designers to scrutinize their pages with colour removed to make sure that critical information is not lost. When using a table to show information, section 508 requires that it must be properly seen or labeled. This is of great importance as it allows screen readers to communicate or speak out the row and column labels associated with each cell. The site should also contain navigation shortcuts which allow users the option to skip parts of the page that consist only of navigation. This is done through the use of bookmark anchors. The user should be free to move within the site and
This color definitely is eye catching and stands out but it just does not match with the whole background of the website which is white. Also, the background color of the SCHR logo, which contains a part of a white stairs is neon yellow as well. Nevertheless, the donate tab is neon purple which does not match with any of the colors present in the website. Therefore, whoever was responsible for the choice of colors used in this website did not do a very good job at it.
The next deficient in the website deals with the learning aspect. The learning aspect and memory aspect go hand in hand with each other. In order to learn how to the new website functions memory must be incorporated. A combination of classical condition learning and observation learning are used to learn how to maneuver through the website. Classical conditioning learning involves learning by previous experience whereas observation learning involves learning by modeling (McLeod, 2014). For example, many users stated that they preferred the drop-down menu from the previous website because it made it easier to find common links that are used for to locate information. Navigating through the new website is tedious as many individuals refer to their memory and classical conditional learning to maneuver throughout the website. The website has changed drastically as far as the perception aspect. As a result,
The navigation is analyzing the best route and giving step by step instructions while the user is simply sitting in their car following the navigation. This is similar in the workplace when workers use internet based machinery to do the job for them. Klosowski hopes to show how workers do the physical aspect of the job but the internet does the hardest part; figuring out what is the best course of action and what consequences can those actions have. Workers who depend on the internet for information escape doing strenuous work causing their skills to become irrelevant, According to Greg Satell “ How Technology Changes the Skills we Need to Learn”, we use technology to do things for us that we no longer are doing for ourselves and that means certain abilities degenerate”. Satell hopes to bring readers to the realization that being so technology dependent robs users of being independent of doing everyday task and causes workers to become useless. Eventually company owners will feel workers are unnecessary because they aren't doing the
Technical documents, as is the homepage of Claflin University’s website, always have a target audience that dictates how information is structured for presentation. After some research, I found that university websites are mostly visited by prospective students and their parents; the target audience. These visitors’ visits are prompted by the need to complete some exploratory task such as finding out the cost of tuition or if a major is offered at the university. The homepage of a website sets the standard by which these visitors will hold the entire website, demanding that it meets the three (3) measures of excellence I will explore; accessibility, professional appearance, and clarity.
Hunting for the correct information is not a problem with the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s (UAH) website. While some websites lose their users among clutter or badly named tabs, UAH’s website keeps their visitors interested and on track. Since these visitors are usually families exploring the school, it is important to have an efficient website. Without this efficiency, a prospective student could be deterred from further pursuing the school. As a college website that provides information and services to prospective students, current students, and parents, the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s website successfully contains pleasurable design, vibrant readability, and fluent navigation.
All information is accessed through a basic navigation bar on the top of each web page with the City’s logo constant on the left. In lieu of providing additional information, a small block of information about each highlighted area is given. This limits the accessibility by other businesses within the City.
The aim of this report is to critically analyse the architecture of the website www.flinders.ed.au. The information gathered from the analysis will be used to devise solutions to problems with the website. The technique of examination for the website was to thoroughly
The main colors of the site are white and blue with an occasional different color to make one of their advertisements stand out. The background for the entire site is white which allows their products to stand out in all of their colorful glory. This
The navigation of a website determines how site users move about the site and how they get to the page that contains the information that they are seeking. (Stokes, 2013, p. 95). An example of

Clients are referred to BAC from various sources, including but not limited to linkage agreement with hospital and clinics in the community. The agency also conducts street outreach and events to inform residents of the services we provide in the community.
Colors can be joined to enhance specific perceptions (this is called the Chevreul effect, after the great painter)”(Color Psychology - How colors affect our moods and emotions). I will be using this technique to better please their audience. There will be a lot of reds and blacks to go along with the theme of the website. Along with those white, orange, yellow, and gold to stimulate a confident, cheerful, and wholesome environment.
However, the designers could have done with some more graphic design elements, while applying them with restraint, particularly around the visually breaking up sections of the page to make the page clearly defined between content and navigation regions.
