I felt the coldness of the November winds pass through my headphones as I was getting the car to go to Petco. I don't know why I wanted to go I guess I just agreed to go cause everyone else was, It's not like we were going to get a pet anyway. Everyone was talking I wasn’t paying attention. I was just staring and imagining that everyone was racing to get to one place. My sister started to try and get my attention. “Hey Will, when we get there do you wanna see the fish with me?”. “Sure,” I said just thinking about my old dog and how I would ride on her when I was really young and weighed less than her. Her name was Samantha, Sam. I loved her more than anything even more than my parents. When we had to put her down I was heart broken. I would never feel the way I felt with her ever again. Even just thinking of her makes me sad now, until I saw her. I stepped out of my car thinking about Sam. “Ashley, do you ever think of Sam,” I said without getting teary eyed. “Will, you know we all do.”She responded, and she was right, I always dreamed that Sam would come back. As I stepped inside I looked at the tall shelves filled with animal materials. I walked around in the bird sections and tried to get the birds to talk to me. The fur of the birds looked sleek every feather more pretty than the next. I next when down to the fish aquarium thing. The aquarium had nice red tiles with looked like they were just mopped. Then… HONK! It sounded like something was outside. I bolted
Our previous dog had just died and we had to put him asleep because he was really old and sick. He had cancer in many spots in his body, he had a massive tumor, and he felt all around miserable. After his sad death within a few months we decided to get a new dog. My dad wanted a hunting dog so that narrowed our options of what type of dog that we could get. The dogs we wanted the most were an Irish setter, English setter, or a German shorthaired pointer which was the type of dog that had just died. All the English setters either costed way to much or were on the opposite side of the country. Some of them were even in different countries. All the Irish setter puppy’s were too far away or to much except one breeder had them in Missouri which wasn’t to far but we wanted to see if we could find anything else especially because there were a lot of pointers that were in our price range.
Dog owners are known for enjoying the company of their pooches and most dogs hate sitting at home by themselves when their family goes out. Although it may take work, teaching your dog to canoe with the family can be very rewarding. The first step is to get your dog used to the water. For some dogs this comes naturally and for some dogs this will never be considered fun. Some of this has to do with the breed and some of it has to do with how they were introduced to water. A good way to introduce a dog to water is to purchase a child size wading pool and let him play around it until he gets used to it. Then slowly teach him to get in and play in the water. When transitioning to the open water try to find a beach area so that they can play in the shallow end before learning to swim out farther. It isn 't necessary for your dog to love the water to canoe, but they must have a familiarity with it and an ability to make it to shore safely. The second step is to get your dog used to the canoe. Let them jump in it on the ground. Put their favorite toy in there and let them jump in to play with it. Reward them when they go in with a tasty treat. Maybe put them in there and give them a kong filled with peanut butter. This is much like training a dog to love their crate. To make your canoe dog friendly it is important to make them feel secure. One way to do this is to put a non-slip bath mat on the bottom of the canoe so that they have a more secure footing. There are many things
Sitting on the midnight black piano bench, I heard my friend Samantha’s dog panting behind me. I wait to turn around to pet the dog for I was having too much fun with Samantha banging on the piano keys while her parents were in the kitchen cooking spaghetti for dinner. I turn around finally having enough of banging on the keys to see their dark brown bull mastiff sitting directly behind me.
My story takes place in during the summer of 2015. I had just recently got back from my long trip from New York and I was finally back home after a year. When I got home I started missing having a dog to take care of and to have around for company. Earlier in the year my older sister took the old family dog back to her in Boston, so I suddenly felt an urge to get another dog. I knew that It was wrong to get a new dog just because I missed my old one, but it didn't matter. I still wanted a new companion. So for the next few days I would spend most of my freetime looking up shelters all over the internet. I would searched all over the internet for available dogs that I would have multiple bookmarks on my browser each containing a new hopeful dog adoptee. But I couldn't find a dog that spoken to me, so as a family trip 3 of my family members all went up to salt lake city at a adoption dog event and tried to pick out a new furry member of our family. When we got there the area was a small dog store with tons of hyper dogs crowded into pens and cages. Each pen with a different breed of dogs just waiting to get adopted. The sounds of the room were filled with joyful yips as the dogs tried to climb up the cages, excited to meet the new people. All except one small white dog, who sat in the corner of the pen avoiding all interactions. In an instant everyone of my family members instantly ran to the dogs of their liking, my sister to a pair of chubby chihuahua sisters. my brother to
When most people think about dogs, they say that they are man's best friend. Although this is true, they are much more than that. They are your family. They are the only animal in the world who does not care if you are not perfect, and will love you not matter what you do. This is what dogs truly are. When you realize this is true about all dogs, it makes it even harder to let them go.
Every day, it’s said that it’s life or death every single day and one day in particular it couldn’t be more true. The day was January 1st 2014 the start of the new year and me not knowing that morning would be the last time I would be able to walk outside without having to look out. It would also be the last morning/day with my dog. The morning started like every morning would. I would wake up, sit there, and watch t.v. while petting my dog. I got up when everyone else was awake and I decided to get onto the computer to watch YouTube or to play games for the whole day. After I had gotten on and sat down, my dad told me to take out my dog. Since it was school break I wanted to be lazy so I told him no. Eventually we got into an argument so he decided to take out my dog Dallas.
Tasha and River were jumping really high and landed with their arms up like they were waving to me and saying hi. I teach dogs cool tricks because it's fun and it reliefs me. The dogs I teach tricks to is Tasha and River. They are really good listeners and they learn quickly. Also, they keep me company when I'm home alone and when I teach them tricks. They enjoy doing tricks with me because they show it on their face. I give them treats when they listen to what I say to them when I am teaching them new tricks. For example when Tasha and River get the trick right I give them each a treat to eat. But only teach them one to two tricks a day because I don't want to push them to the max, and fill them up on treats. If you would like to teach dogs tricks like me then that's great.
Most of my childhood I’ve had pets or more specifically dogs around me. Having a pet around to feed,
It's morning and you're walking down an aisle in a small store, one which doesn't allow #pet #dogs to come inside.
Losing a loved one is hard, it takes time to get over it for many a loved one could be a dad, mom, or any sibling, my loved one was my dog and not only just a dog it was my first dog. This golden brown retriever would light up anyones darkest day. I called her Gabby 80 pounds, shiny brown coat, and a ball of energy. Boy I tell you I sure do miss her, I got her at the age of 12. I honestly could say I was never a dog person they scared me especially the big ones. It wasn't until one summer day my mom said she had a surprise for me. I sat in the house as she proceeded to walk outside to the car, the next thing I know I hear a bell ringing it was a dog. I kid you not I started to cry and not because of the surprise but because of this gigantic dog. It was running at me I tried running from it but it chased me I thought it wanted to bite me. All it wanted to dog was play she was so energetic and knew plenty of tricks. I was so excited!
In the past most common pet is the Dog which is good, because dog can use in the war or can be a house guard which makes people love dogs. Dogs are useful in a lot of things like detecting drugs or can help to search people by sniffing, well of course a dog needs a proper training which enhance them and make them more useful. Reese is furry, friendly, strong, playful, energetic, loyal, and most of all misjudged. Reese is a rescue pitbull. Our stories conjoined on a dreary Sunday morning; the night before it had been storming and the skies remained grey with small rays of light peeking through. Furthermore, it was that time of day where the sun has been up for a little while, yet no one is quite fully awake. Drowsily, I watched the trees and fields pass through the smudged window of the backseat of our family car. Simultaneously, the sounds from the radio entertained me as we drove down the interstate, we were on our way home from visiting family in Cincinnati for the Labor Day weekend. It was the typical boring car ride everybody sits through up until we all noticed something. “What is that?” My mom, brother, and I all thought to ourselves. Suddenly the question was answered.
Meow...MEow...MEOW… My cat Squeaks screamed while giving birth to her kittens. It was scary and very cool to see Squeaks and her little bloody kittens all bundled up on the pile of clothes. Her children were named Max(oldest boy),Smokey(middle boy)diamond(only girl),and weasel(youngest boy).Weasel was black and dark gray with little patches of orange and very long as a new born, Max was white, black, and fat he look like the boy version of squeaks,Diamond was full on black and very hard to find unless she was eating with her brothers, and Smokey was very lazy, gray, white and skinny. They all had different personalities you wouldn’t know about if you didn’t pay attention.
The turbulent winds smashed into my face as I struggled to pull my dog to the cover of the large oak tree. All of a sudden, a large gust of wind lifted my dog into the air, snapping her old and tattered leash! I screamed in horror as she was flung into the choppy river. Stunned, I could only watch in panic as my dog’s head bobbed up and down in the water, while she frenetically tried to keep herself afloat…
Since the summer of 2009, I had a dog named Sammy. My dog was always following me around and enjoyed playing fetch and tug-of-war all the time. Although, my dog wasn’t always playful and friendly. Sammy would bark at anyone who passed by our door or our fence. He was a very protective dog was all, he wouldn’t mean any harm, until that day came.
