“Calgon, take me away!” When I think of an amazing vacation, I have the imagery of a tropical paradise with the waves crashing on the beach and the sound of the wind rustling in the palm trees. That is close to the imagery the Calgon commercial portrayed. Maybe, I am biased to beach vacations because of the commercial. At any rate, I think an ideal vacation would be either a cruise vacation to a tropical locale or an all-inclusive resort vacation on an island. Both offer the sun, the sea, and lots of fun. Both the cruise and the resort offer great amenities. Since I have seven children (three over 18 and four under age ten), one granddaughter, and one soon to be, son-in-law, the family activities are high priority on my list. Because they are family orientated, the cruise line I would choose would be the Disney Cruise Line. Also because they are family friendly, I would choose the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahama’s. There are activities for all the age ranges in our family. Everyone would find something they enjoyed with either vacation. The amenities offered by both destinations are sure to satisfy everyone in my family. There are activities to keep the thrill seekers happy and the ones that just want to relax. There are also family activities for the whole family to enjoy. The cruise has an onboard waterslide, ice skating rink, movie theatre, live shows, basketball courts, and miniature golf. The cruise also offers excursions when it goes into port
Combining the best of Walt Disney World with brand new cruise ships, the Disney cruise line creates a combination of the romance of yesteryear with all the comforts of today. Launched in July 1998, the Disney Cruise Line has managed to sustain and create that 'magical experience' that Walt Disney customers have grown to expect and wish for. The Disney Cruise Line currently consists of two vessels, the Disney Magic, and the Disney Wonder that sail throughout the Western and Eastern Caribbean, as well as the Bahamas (Exhibit 1). Presently, the cruise line offers 5 different cruising options, including a 7 day land/sea package, a 3 and 4
Vacation on a cruise would obviously make exciting to the families and would also make them feel different and distinct experience. When giving them the speech on the advantages of cruises I would include the following information:
One of the tours they offer is to the Caribbean, providing stays in the most exclusive and luxurious hotels and resorts in the Caribbean. The holiday is tailor-made. It offers the opportunity to glimpse the flavour and colour of local life.
Outdoor activities are centered around the beautiful beaches with spotting a dolphin in the wild being a common occurrence. You have access to all the watersports possible. Windsurfing, snorkeling and fishing to name a few. And of course an adventure with Capt. Steve in his buggy is a great way to get to know the area that the divers wildlife that lives in it. When family come to visit, you can book a tour catered to them and give them an experience they’ll never forget.
The Bahamas unlike Las Vegas boasts an endless collection of sandy beaches for the traveler to lounge on, making it a true tropical paradise. However, the Bahamas also offers many tourist attractions such as the Peterson Cay National Park, nature tours, and golf resorts. This tranquil atmosphere plays a big role in the vacation for the traveler wanting to get away from the city. In the Bahamas, there are endless opportunities for shopping, golfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, or just laying on the beach. The Bahamas offers a great vacation for the whole family. The Pirates of the Bahamas Beach Theme Park in Port Lucaya for instance, offers activities for the whole family including a beach and children activities, or, in the West Ends Old Bahamas’ Bay Resort and Marina, the traveler can go boating, sailing, or golfing.
While I had travelled before with my family, I didn’t have many vivid memories of our travels and vacations; however, when I was five, maybe six, I do remember one of our trips to Newport Beach. In fact it is one of my strongest memories at this age. I remember getting ready to go for spring break, my mom telling me how much fun we would have, that we could buy a bag of salt water candy at the sweet shop along the bay, that we would go to a cool aquarium and see sharks, and that we could search for shells along the beach - it sounded amazing.
All of the actives of the Disney Cruise ship are really cool. There are theaters on the ship where you can go and watch a show. There is a basketball court that is full-size, it can also turn into a soccer field. Also is a volleyball court, tennis court, mini-golf course 9 hole, and a digital sports simulators. The Disney Cruise ship is the first ship to have a water roller coaster. There is a Mickey’s Pool and Donald’s. Those were a lot of the actives on the Disney Cruise ship.
Princess Cruises have a lot of fantastic destinations all over the world. Their destination themed activities, dancing classes, art galleries and more give their passengers a unique cruise experience. With so much to do onboard, they offer onboard credit to active duty and retired military depending on the length of voyage.
Being a La Jolla resident for approximately three years, I surround myself with pretty parks filled with trees and beautiful flowers that would blossom when spring arrives. I even developed a habit of jogging around the area in my casual time with my friends. Whenever my parents come down to visit, they would always say “San Diego is so nice”. Yet, as I took a twenty minutes drive up north to the City Heights to join a food distribution at the local church. La Jolla seems too perfect to the point of nonexistence in compared to this diverse neighborhood. The neighborhood is embellished with prominent housing color such as yellow, burgundy, light pink unlike the uniform color of apartment complexes in La Jolla. City Heights is jammed with traffic
Another big plus about the resort besides the friendly staff was that there were many rides available for both children and adults. There was even an indoor water park and amusement park for little kids. The resort was definitely family friendly. Surrounding the park, there was many different choices of restaurants. My family and I stopped by a BBQ restaurant and a Denny’s who were both very fast with their service and very friendly. We enjoyed
On the Royal Caribbean International ships, there will always be two or more pools, whereas on the Carnival Cruise Line, there will always be at least one pool. The Carnival line also has water slides on more than half of the cruises. The Royal Caribbean however, will be adding water slides to all of the cruises within the fleet. An upside to the Carnival Cruise Line is that they have a partnership with Guy Fieri, which led to there being nine Guy’s Burger Joint’s within the fleet. An upside to the Royal Caribbean International is that they have rock climbing walls on every ship, it is basically their signature object. Not only that, but they also have two ships with indoor skydiving and three with ziplining. The Carnival fleet has four ships with rope courses and features SkyRide, an aerial bike ride where riders race each other on hanging recumbent bikes around an 800-foot suspended
Both of these destinations are very entertaining. If you chose Disney you could go to all of the parks and ride all of the rides. You can even get your picture taken with the Disney characters. For the cruise you would get to go to the islands and take pictures and go shopping. They have people who perform shows for you. You can lay out by one of
in my opinion..... there is a bathroom so you don't have to leave to go and there is an adult zone for adults only. And there is a kids zone is there are not allowed adults. Also there are two gift shops attached to the adult zone and the kids zone. and there is a dock so you can sit put your feet in the water and there is a beach so in the summer you can go play in the water and in the sand.
How many days would you like for your cruise to last? There are short, two day cruises, and the more common four, seven, and eleven day trips as well as the around the world extravaganza. Decide what your travel budget will be. You’ll need to be a little flexible here, as sometimes charges such as port fees won’t be included in the total price quote for a cruise, and you must also figure in the costs for parking, sales tax, and any on-board costs, such as for drinks, that are not included in your ticket price. Once you have a dollar amount in mind, it’s time to decide on a cruise line. Get out all of those cruise ship brochures you’ve been collecting – or go online and Google a search term such as “cruise ship vacations”. Be prepared, as the search will bring back a lot of links.
Splurging on a once in a life time dream vacation would be a priceless experience. Traveling to new and exciting places would create ever lasting memories that we would share for a lifetime. A vacation is a wonderful way for us to have a break from every day stresses and schedule conflicts. A luxury cruise can offer all these things and much more. Personally experiencing what a luxury cruise has to offer, I can guarantee a cost worthy, indulgent and memorable experience.
