On either side of the help desk are areas that provide both comfortable seating and tables. One side has a large television and the other side offers a more studious environment. The space includes two charging stations with cables for a variety of different types of electronic devices. When I first visited the space at 9:30 am, there were only a few students. When I returned at 12:45 pm, students occupied almost every seat. Despite minimal socializing occurring the center was very popular.
At Highline College, most classes require students to do approximately two hours of classwork outside of class for every hour that they spend in class. This work that they do outside of class doesn’t tend to be easy, and students often fall behind in their classes from struggling with it. To stop students from falling behind for that reason, the Highline College Tutoring Center was founded. The Highline College Tutoring Center provides academic support to students in all non-math-and-writing-classes that allows a diverse student body to succeed.
I walk towards my mom's white toyota where my mom waits for me. She has a grim expression on her face but at the moment I don't notice it. I collapse into the passenger seat and look behind me to see that my sister wasn't here today. I assume that her friends mom picked her up from school that day as my mom drives out of the school parking lot.

Traveling is one of my family’s favorite things to do. The family has visited numerous places throughout the United States, however, none are as memorable as Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, there are many places to go and sights to see such as: Cola-cola factory, Cabbage Patch Kids Factory, Under Ground Mall, the Zoo, Atlanta Braves Stadium, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mountain Park, and the Atlanta Aquarium, are all in or near the city of Atlanta. The three that we visit on every trip to Atlanta are Six Flags, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta Aquarium.
Becca has dark brown, slightly curling hair that has been slowly growing longer since I have met her. She has thick, black glasses that add to her personality. She is about five and a half feet tall and slightly chubby. She has a sense of style that has a pinch of something nerdy about it whether it being one of her purses that she brings with her or it being her whole outfit such as her “Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker” dress that has multiple stained-glass windows from that game. I met Becca when I was in 10th grade when my neighbor was having a small movie watching party. I really didn’t talk to her there but during the following year, when she was in 9th grade, our friendship started to grow. We were both on the musical crew for video and ended up learning a lot about her personality. She is a fun, generous, hardworking, caring person who will put others in front of herself about 95% of the time.
We have been waiting nine long months, and we have had much preparation to do before the arrival of our daughter. Of all the things we have prepared for her, I am most proud of her room, my mother and I painted it and sat it up with all the accessories together. I sat on the floor and taped off the stripes to be painted, and my mom painted. It was a great team effort, and we are so happy how it turned out. With flowers and butterflies on her wall, busy pattern of stripes and beautiful colors, she is going to love her bedroom. Our crib and furniture is finally set up and put in her room. With pink and green letters above her crib spelling out the name of our precious baby
Growing up being bullied, I never had a friend to help me through all of that crazy nonsense.
One voice flooded my head. I smile, instantly knowing who it belongs to. A storm of butterflies erupts in my stomach as my eyes flutter open. The bitter cold forces me to take in my surroundings. Grayson smiles back at me, and the world begins to spin all around me.
There he was, walking into my fourth period class with a smirk on his face, and an outfit that screamed that he was cowboy. I, for one was not the type of girl to fall head over heels for a guy, but something about him stood out from the rest of the male population of the school. He seemed like the respectable type one could take home to their parents without them disapproving. His looks took hold of me and held me as if the image of his visage could never be erased from my mind. Never have I seen a more perfect person in my entire existence.
this water to survive, and our loved ones at home worried sick wondering if we are even still alive. Then again the view a had while doing this wasn’t all that bad. Most likely a better view than what I would have originally had at the resort we were heading to.
While walking through the enormous open-gated entry, I glanced down at the freshly printed orange stamp on my hand and smiled to myself. Happy to be back, even though it was sweltering hot, I could not wait for the gut-wrenching fun I was about to enjoy. There seemed to be an ocean of enormous rides set out in front of me. All were shiny and carried the bright colors of the rainbow. Some towered above the rest, reaching great heights within the sky. I could hear the cheerful laughter of children at the carousel, their parents gleefully taking pictures, and the terrified screams of those being swung into the air by monstrous roller coasters.
When living on campus choosing where to eat is tough. Choosing somewhere to impress a date is even harder. Living on North Campus has its perks; there is beautiful scenery, the building is older and full of history, plus you are close to a lot of classes and the student union. However, for those on North campus who don’t have a car and don’t plan on taking dates on buses, there are few options. One of those options is the 1899 Bar and Grill.
Bleep! Bleep! Bleep! My eyes snap open and for a split second my surroundings confuse me. It’s not long though until I recognize just where I am. The Clarion Hotel in Brown County, Indiana. Someone across the room pounds the wailing alarm clock until all you can here is the air vents tranquil humming (personification). Eventually Captain comes around and raps on the door until we heave ourselves out of bed. It’s so early in the morning, everything around us was a blur of movement as we piled onto the bus, each of us covered in heavy layers over our crimson cross country uniforms. Most of the team crams into the back with earbuds stuffed into their ears to block out the noise, but not me. I’m up towards the front decked out in baggy grey sweatpants that practically swallowed my torso and three layers of shirts to block out the frigid morning air. No one can tell if I’m warm or not though, because all I can do is bounce my leg up and down and up and down. I’m sure if Captain didn’t have the heat blasting I would have driven anyone in earshot absolutely nuts. Can you really blame me though? Me, this tiny little freshman, getting to run with the big dogs. I could run the whole way there and back I’m so excited!(hyperbole)
