Happy Birthday
One bright Saturday morning, I woke up, and walked down stairs into the living room and kitchen. The house was decorated with balloons and a big streamer that said ‘’ Happy Birthday!’’ It was my seventh birthday. A rush of excitement flowed through me. Where was my parents? They might still be sleeping, I thought.
A little while later, I heard my parents walking down the stairs. ‘’ Happy Birthday!’’ They said. I got up from watching television and hugged them. ‘’ Your party will start at two thirty,’’ my mom said. ‘’ Ok! ‘’ I replied, excited.
As we got prepared for the party, setting out all the food, moving the furniture in a more unique position. By the time we finished, it was only one ‘o’ clock. Since we still had a hour and a half, I used my remaining time to shower, get some good clothes on, and comb my hair. When I went back down stairs, it was already two. ‘’ when does the party end?’’ I asked. ‘’ It ends at five thirty,’’ she said. ‘’ Oh. Okay!’’ I replied.
Now, it was almost two thirty. We only had invited a couple people, and some neighbors. A sound of a car driving by pulled my mind back to reality. ‘’ Is that one of my friends?’’ I asked my dad. ‘’ Mm, no I've seen that car parked in the neighborhood before. ‘’ my dad replied. ‘’Oh. ‘’ I said, a little disappointed. ‘’ Don’t worry, there will be people here soon, it's almost time.” he said reassuringly.
The first person had come. It was one of my school friends. For a little
It was Saturday, September 3rd: my birthday. I woke to find my parents awake. “Happy birthday honey”, said my parents. I jumped out of bed and start asking my parents if we are going to the beach. “I don’t think we can”, my dad said. “Why?”, I asked. I looked out the window and saw the waves reaching the walls. “No”, I yelled. “Sorry, Gilbert, the waves are too strong”, my mom said. “We can still do other things like mini golfing and laser tag”, Dad said. “Okay”, I
The sky was always blue holding sunshine rays in her world. Her name was Rosaline Deponte, my great-grandma. The continuous smile that she showed on her face reminded us how precious life is and to not take things for granted. Cold wood floors that could easily freeze toes, single-walled construction, shut rows of jalousie windows, and the smell of warm sweet bread on the counter 24/7, that was Rosaline’s house.
This birthday had been wonderful. My friend Emily and I hiked up to a place called Griffith Observatory. I had heard that the view was amazing and you could see all of LA. I walked to a artsy concrete staircase where you could see the lively and bustling city in the background. From our point of view, the skyscraper buildings looked tiny and ant sized. The golden crisp sun had slightly set behind us and caused the sky to shift deep colors throughout the city. When the cotton candy like clouds drifted across the electric baby blue sky, I felt an overwhelming rush of pure happiness. The condensed and shrubby bushes in front of us were a shamrock green color, and looked as if they were full of life. I knew
“I’ll be down in a second!” I said to my parents who were impatiently waiting for me, but they should know by now that it is next to impossible to get me out the door on time. I’m surprised my mom hasn’t set back all the clocks in the house by ten minutes yet.
Today is my eighteenth birthday. What better way for a new adult to celebrate her new adulthood than drive up the coast for the weekend with my best friends? I can’t think of one. I position myself in the driver’s seat, strap in, and head off on my way to Cherry’s house. As I’m humming along to some 1985, my gas light clicks on and beeps, denoting I’m low on gas. I sigh. “Sorry Cher, looks like I’ll be a little late” I say to myself as I turn off of the street I was following and turn into a gas station to my right. Parking on pump 6, I exit the car and enter the little convenient store
My 2nd birthday. There are silly blues clues decorations everywhere. There are polka dot balloons, sweet yummy cake, and big shiny presents. There is a camera pointed at my face. The faint sound of muffled talking goes through my head. I hear the sweet words of “Happy Birthday” several times. As I open my gifts, I hear the rustling of the slick wrapping paper. My nose picks up the scent of the smoke from the birthday candles.
As Frantz woke up the next morning he was surprised to hear, “Happy birthday Frantz!” Vociferated his parents and their acquaintances, today was his 10th birthday, it was the best day ever. He was able to celebrate his birthday party on a cruise. There was an abundance of birthday cake, balloons, streamers, and presents. In one of the presents there was a remote control car, in another an iPad, he also acquired a bunch of clothes. Even though he didn't have any of his friends on the cruise, it was still an abundance of fun with his family and their Acquaintances that they had
My watched ticked 6: 30 PM as I waited outdoor the eating place for my night meal to reach. It became a specially chilly summer season night in Silicon Valley, yet it had a heat feeling to it. The vivid lights of the restaurant illuminated the busy streets because the sun set down over the west. It took me a while to observe the cellphone booth subsequent to me became ringing for a while now and the temptation to reply it grew with each ring. I couldn't preserve it any further, I needed to solution that cellphone. I snuck in in picked it up, and that is whilst my night time would change for all time.
“What are you all waiting for?” asks a woman passing by. “There’s a Demi Lovato concert tonight,” someone replies. The woman smiles, wishes us a good time and continues on her way, likely to lunch, as it is one o’clock in the afternoon.
I awoke shivering afraid of the nightmare I had just had. It’s all because of the stories my brother told me, they aren’t true, I told myself. He always called me a loser. He always said “Zack you’re a baby!” Tonight I’ll show him, tonight is my revenge. I kept saying in my mind I’m not afraid. As I walked downstairs to go to my brother’s room in the basement I was passing the happy birthday decorations for me from two days ago. I remember the Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake in my mouth with the delicious frosting that said “Happy birthday fourteen year old!” When I opened the door to the basement I swear I saw something move. I reminded myself I am not a baby, and as I went down to the second step I heard what was down there. It sounded like fingernails being screeched across a chalk board.
The morning sunshine seeped through the cracks between my shutters, lighting up my room. I could hear the clock ticking and the rays of sunlight bouncing off of my eyelids. I barely got any sleep last night because I was ecstatic that tomorrow was, my birthday! I jumped up out of bed, how could I have forgotten that it was my birthday? Suddenly all of my drowsiness turned it into excitement and I jumped up, throwing the red gradient quilt off of my bed. I slowly walked out of my room, making very little noise, checking to see if anyone else was awake. I peeked through the intricate staircase railings and tried to spot anyone downstairs, no one was in sight. I tiptoed down the cream coloured stairs, reached the bottom and got startled when my mom yelled, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”, her voice bouncing off the walls of house. A grin so big spread across my face, I couldn’t believe I was turning four years old!
"Happy Birthday", my mom screamed out and scared me the morning of June 9. But it was surprising and nice of her since she wished me before anyone else. It was my eighteen birthday and it was my day. While looking out the big windows in my room, I thought to myself, I will do what satisfies me today, but wasn't quite sure what? I didn’t receive any calls from my friends, or other relatives. Nobody was home either besides my mom with whom I can’t make plans because she got her own work to do. It depressed me because it seemed like this was going to be one boring eighteen birthday.
The laughs got louder the light shifted it was much darker than a minute ago, no, no, ten seconds ago. It looked like the beginning of night time, not the light of early evening when I first arrived to the party. What time was it? I check my watch, 7:47 pm no, definitely not right. As the laughs got louder I started to think are they messing with me? No, the laughs sound to close right in front of me. I started to to walk back to the party it was over I was not going to find… no I must get back maybe they are already back. Then I heard a scream, I ran.
It is April 4th. It is my 21 birthday.21 years ago I was born and got named Thea. My mom Emily, dad James, sister Maddison, and brother Liam are coming over to celebrate my birthday. There are a few things I must do before they come.
“APPLES GET DOWN HERE LET’S GO!” Lollipop screamed from the ground, I quickly ran down the branches of my tree to meet her. Lollipop had led me to a place, but I didn't know where because she said it was a surprise for me, and by the way today… I turned 16! It’s cool, I know. I’m sort of exhausted from helping all these people though, but hopefully today will make up for it. The worst part of my day was that my own boyfriend forgot my birthday. A few hours later we were still
