: Larchwood Lake may not ever be the same again. The story about Larchwood Lake is not that uncommon. Without doing extensive research into possible things that could occur by lowering the lake level, the Larchwood Lake Homeowner’s Association destroyed the very thing they were trying to protect. Carelessness and poor planning are not the only root causes however. There are a number of reasons that led to the degradation of Larchwood Lake that happen to relate to more macro level environmental issues. Those reasons are poorly designed environmental policy created by the E.P.A., poor understanding of lake ecology by the managers of the land, and false confidence in poorly planned ideas. By looking at how these factors contributed to the degradation of the lake, hopefully we will be able to make more ecological sound decisions in the future.

Lake Tahoe is definitely one of the most beautiful lakes in the United States. Its water goes from Caribbean blue to dark because it carves a deep hole in the Sierra Nevada. In August of 2012, USA Today dubbed it "America's Best Lake. The lake was formed approximately two million years ago and is part of the Lake Tahoe basin. The lake itself was shaped during the Ice Age. The water is amazing and crystal clear with varying shades of blue.

Greasy Lake is the story of three friends who are bad characters. Until they run into a situation where they question, just how bad they are. Just because they act badly and look bad does not mean they are. They are teenagers in a period, “when courtesy and winning ways [are] out of style when it [is] good to be bad, when they [cultivate] decadence like a taste.” (112) They look bad, wearing torn-up leather jackets, slouching around with toothpicks in their mouths and wearing their shades morning, noon and night. They have the attitude, they drive their parents cars fast, and burn rubber as the pull out of the driveway. They have the bad habits. The primary theme of. Boyle's "Greasy Lake" is the journey that people take to their own dark sides, although the propensity of males toward violence is also a theme. The story begins with three men heading out for an adventure that soon goes wrong and ends up changing the narrators personality by making a change of maturity towards the end .

In the short story Greasy Lake written by T.C. Boyle, the story is about three friends who believe they are “bad”. On a particular night they go out looking for trouble, and trouble is what they find. The tone of this story is serious, dark, and very graphic. This story is full of literary devices. Metaphors and similes come thick and fast on the shores of Greasy Lake, and Boyle never contents himself with one when he can offer two or three. The comparisons for their abundance, are neither aimless nor without purpose; they enable us to see the referent from strategic points of view.

“Greasy Lake” by T. C. Bolyle narrated from the perspective of an unnamed narrator, told as a reflective account of his youth. In the story, he recounts details of his experiences on a summer evening with two friends. The reader experiences the misadventures of the protagonist that night along as told from the viewpoint of the now mature narrators retrospective. Exposed in the story are two character traits of the protagonist. Those traits are immaturity and rebellion, along with the trait of introspection on the part of the narrator.

The Battle of Lake Champlain was an important victory because it created a dent in the British plan to invade from the North and it ultimately convinced the British to surrender the War of 1812, which caused the US to gain worldwide respect. To begin, the British had been trying to invade America from the south, but they had very little success. This is why it was so vital that the US won the Battle of Lake Champlain because it hurt the British plan to invade by destroying a major part of their plan. My preschool years I started off at a school called Lake Rim in Hope Mills, North Carolina. My teacher's name was Mrs.Keller and we were all little kids so we thought she was scary because her name was so close to killer. By the second day we realized that she was a very compassionate and nice teacher after giving us candy for every math problem we got right. I didn't go to Lake Rim for long because I think we were two months into the school year and as I was getting out of the reading tub one day a kid named Jermaine. He had just got done at the math section before running across the classroom screaming and as I turned around to get out of the tub he superman kicked me in the face and I flew back into the tub. Mrs.Keller quickly came over to see if I was alright and took me to the guidance office because I had a bloody nose and a boot mark on my face.

Lake Tahoe holds a dear place in my heart because it is one of the most often destinations for our family vacations. I lost count of how many times I have been there. For every occasion, it is just the place to go to. It is such a relaxing place, at least for the weekend I do not have to worry about anything. Lake Tahoe is a very green place to be in California. California is a very dry state and having forests like Lake Tahoe is something to be proud of. It attracts thousands of visitors each year and has numerous activities to do there. Not only is Lake Tahoe extremely beautiful, but it has many ecological features.

Paddling in perfect unison across Lake Louise makes you a child of nature. Taking in the deafening silence and breathtaking sights of the wilderness is a glimpse to treasure dearly. The water is brilliant blue like Neptune. The downside is my cousins and sibling splashing the paddles as they dash over the canoe.
