Descriptive Essay : My Favorite Food

Traveling is one of my family’s favorite things to do. The family has visited numerous places throughout the United States, however, none are as memorable as Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, there are many places to go and sights to see such as: Cola-cola factory, Cabbage Patch Kids Factory, Under Ground Mall, the Zoo, Atlanta Braves Stadium, Six Flags Over Georgia, Stone Mountain Park, and the Atlanta Aquarium, are all in or near the city of Atlanta. The three that we visit on every trip to Atlanta are Six Flags, Stone Mountain, and the Atlanta Aquarium.

As a young boy, food served as a connection to his heritage. His mother would pack him a lunch with Chinese dishes and on American holidays, his family had their own Chinese twist. He writes about one Thanksgiving in particular. His mother cooks Chinese dishes such as cha siu, which is completely different from what the family of one of his childhood friends, Warren, makes. They had casserole, turkey, mashed potatoes and other traditional American Thanksgiving food.

There are different foods from different countries around the world. The different elements are noticeable in our foods. Chinese dishes are prominent and it is the ultimate food. People have different tastes in food though many people appreciate Chinese’s. It is famous for color, appearance, taste, aroma, and meaning. Around the bay area there are many Chinese restaurants. My family is Chinese, so Chinese food are something we eat almost every day. Even though I eat Chinese food every day, I still don’t get bored with it. My favorite Chinese foods are sweet and sour pork and fried rice. Sweet and sour pork is my favorite because of the sauce and fried rice because of its taste and it is simple to make when I have to make my food; both foods are the traditional dishes may be found all over the world.

As a food lover and adventurous eater, I've certainly eaten so many kinds of food from many countries around the world. And I have a lot of good and bad moments related to food. However, when you ask me about the most memorable meal that I have eaten in my life, perhaps the first thing that appears in my mind is my daddy’s soup.

As a child, people will always remember certain destinations that stick with them that made a good impression. I have a place that not only made a good impression, it changed me. It made me think off all the things in life people take for granted; places, people, activates. This place brought all though special things in life to one place where I can enjoy them all at the same time. The Oregon coast. Traveling there, as a kid was always special.
