Romeo Santos In Concert Anthony Santos known artistically as Romeo Santos was born on July 21, 1981. He is from The Bronx, New York. Romeo Santos is a well-known singer; record producer, composer and songwriter. Also known as the king of the Bachata music genre. Before making his two solo albums he was the singer leader of the band Aventura. He gave a live concert on June 20, 2015, at the American Airlines Arena located on 601 Biscayne Blvd of his tour vol2 that I was able to assist. He performed twenty pieces during the concert including some of his most famous songs. “Cancioncitas de amor”, “Yo tambien”, and “Eres mia” were three different pieces that allowed the audience to experience different styles of the Bachata genre. Bachata music, as all kind of music tells a story. In Bachata especially, the songs are mostly romantic. As evidenced, on June 21 I confirmed what many people have told me about the last of

As is the case in all Santos shows, he brought an overweight girl onstage, embraced, stole kisses and simulated (or not) some crotch grabbing (her hand on his). The “Propuesta Indecente” bed scene, of course, is widely anticipated. But in between that—in between Santos making the guys in the audience bark and the women meow—there’s a whole lot of music, beautifully executed. Santos can pare down the sound for more acoustic-minded performances where he’s accompanied by virtuoso guitar, the single, pizzicato melody lines mimicking his piercing voice. There are songs that feel like little films; stories that make your breath catch, with no need for supporting audiovisual material to distract. There is, finally, an artist who has managed to mainstream a niche genre by effectively bridging the gap between elegance and bawdiness with huge musical and entertainment skills. It has taken Santos more than a decade to reach his current “king” status. But his staying power is more than
One of the greatest idol for this genre is Romeo Santos. “Romeo Santos” also known as Anthony Santos was born in the United States, to a Dominican father and a Puerto Rican mother. Romeo Santos started his career with a group of guys where they called the group Aventura. He was the main songwriter and producer of the group. During his and the group career he decide to make a
The Life of Gabriel Garcia Marquez Exposed in His Works The majority of literary critics would not hesitate in praising the works of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Garcia Marquez is often considered one of the greatest writers to come out of Latin America. Born in Aracataca, a small town in northern Columbia, he was primarily raised by his maternal grandparents (Britannica). Biographies often indicate a presence of a large community including an abundance of relatives when describing his upbringing (Macondo).
Tragedy, events of great misfortune, has engulfed the world for centuries. Tragedy often giving rise to feelings of depression, anger, sorrow, and guilt. Romeo, in the tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, is a wealthy adolescent of the Montague family. He falls in love with young Juliet, of his rival family—the Capulets. Romeo’s infatuation with Juliet leads to a hasty desire for marriage. This creates a rash and careless mindset, making Romeo susceptible to errors in judgement. This same poor judgment causes Romeo to thoughtlessly slay Tybalt, as revenge for the death of his friend, Mercutio. Through fate, Romeo coincidentally falls in love with a Capulet, his family’s
The art of Fernando Botero is widely known, revered, paraphrased, imitated and copied, For many, his characteristic rounded, sensuous forms of the human figure, animals, still lifes and landscapes represent the most easily identifiable examples of the modern art of Latin America. For others, he is a cultural hero.To travel with Botero in his native Colombia is to come to realize that he is often seen less as an artist and more as a popular cult figure. In his native Medellín he is mobbed by people wanting to see him, touch him or have him sign his name to whatever substance they happen to be carrying. On the other hand, Botero's work has been discredited by those theorists of modern art whose tastes are dictated more
The stage travels, and outbursts, many swirling, dazzling colors, followed by a stampede of footwork accompanying the sound of the mariachi. Envision it. Mesmerizing isn't it?
My career in the United States got off at a rough start but not until I joined the Tito Puente Orchestra and truly became the Queen of Salsa. People knew me for my dynamic voice but my performances and outfits are what really aroused the audience. I always had over-the-top attire usually with sequins, feathers, lace, and wild hair. After an incident at a restaurant, I began to say “Azucar!” or “Sugar!” during my performances, which became my famous phrase. By the 1970’s, I was performing regularly with the Fania All–Stars and in Miami. Many people in Miami had left Cuba as well but claimed they would only go back if Cuba became a democracy, which is why Miami could have been called my second home. During the 1970’s and the 1980’s, I had switched up my musical style with various artists. I collaborated with Caetano Veloso, Pattie LaBelle, Wyclef Jean, Emilio Estefan, Luciano Pavarotti, and David Byrne. I also began to appear in films including The Mambo Kings and The Perez Family. After 40 years of singing, I had won several Grammy Awards and Latin Grammys and produced over 70 albums including 23 that went gold. My life was singing and that was all I could ask for. With all the men in the salsa business, I overcame boundaries and obstacles to
To complete a mission people has often had to take risks, often dangerous ones. There seems to be a lot of reasons that drive people to undertake a mission. In Barrio Boy, Ernesto has to learn how to speak English when he doesn’t know a word. In Apollo 13 the crew would have never expected that the oxygen tank would blow up and then having to jump out of the LM module and into the ocean. In Barrio Boy(Ernesto) and the Apollo 13 crew undertook a mission because they had trust in someone, all were hardworking, and never gave up to achieve their goals.
Throughout the works of William Shakespeare, the main character is complemented with another character that acts or serves as the protagonist's foil. In Romeo & Juliet, the protagonist, Romeo, is fickle, idealistic, impractical and naïve. To balance Romeo as a character, Shakespeare creates Mercutio; a good friend of Romeo's who acts as his conscience. While Romeo has an idealistic perspective of the world and more specifically of love, Mercutio balances Romeo's weak points as a dreamer. Mercutio is pragmatic, sensible, and clever and a master on word play. Throughout the play, Mercutio mocks Romeo's naïve and ridiculous fascination with love. Early in the play, Romeo goes on and on about his deep infatuation with the beautiful Rosaline.
Imagine a crowd of people with on the edge of your seat, nail-biting excitement. People were bubbling with energy and some alcohol to loosen everyone up. The lights are dim and the show is about to start. The slow melodic notes of the piano echo through the theater and out walks the singer dressed in an all lace number and a shawl showing more skin than covering. It is evident that this event is definitely for the “grown and sexy”. On Sunday March 8, 2014, I attended a Masha Ambrosius concert in which she was promoting her album friends and lovers. During the course of the show there were 4 different performances all of which had different effects on the

On Sunday October 2nd at 7:00pm in Weill Hall, I watched Omara Portuondo with special guests Roberto Fonseca, Anat Cohen, and Regina Carter. Omara Portuondo was the only female in the Buena Vista Social Club. The Buena Vista Social Club consisted of the most famous Cuban musicians at that time. The Club hosted dances and musical events. Omara’s special guest Roberto Fonsea is known for being a multi-instrumentalist. While Anat Cohen is known for unique playing of the clarinet because she fuses Latin jazz styles together. Regina Carter is known for being a talented jazz violinist. All the music that was song that night was in Spanish.
Life in the emergency room is can be fast paced, with decisions made by healthcare professionals who need to consider the basic ethical principles of non-maleficence, beneficence, autonomy and justice. These principles are resources designed and intended to provide a comprehensive understanding, guidance and rules of conduct to ensure an ethical and legal decision is made, regardless of the medical staffs subjective view of what is right and wrong (Tong, 2007, p. 7)
Carlos Fuentes author of The Death of Artemio Cruz has used his novel to show how Mexico has been transformed and molded into its present state through the use of his character Artemio Cruz. Fuentes uses Cruz to bring together a historical truth about the greedy capital seekers, robber barons, if you will, who after the revolution brought Mexico directly back to into the situation it was in before and during the Revolution. Fuentes wrote the novel in nineteen sixty-two, shortly after the Cuban Revolution. Fuentes is able to express his disappointment from the Mexican Revolution, the revolution by the people in his native land. The revolution seemed to change nothing for the average person in Mexico; the
Thanks to this album, she gained international fame since her two first albums were just sold in Colombia. Later, after a year, she released her fourth album, “The Remixes,” which include some songs from “Pies Descalzos” in remix style. On 1998, she began to work with the Cuban producer, Emilio Estefan. While working with him, she recorded another album called “¿Donde Estan Los Ladrones?”(Where Are the Thieves?) Because of this album, she was called the “Latin Queen of Rock and Pop.” Later on 2000, she recorded the “Unplugged Album” which was a mix of songs (sung in a mini live concert) from “¿Donde estan Los Ladrones?” and “Pies Descalzos” And this is all the work she has done to become a star.
