has many renewable resources. Some of these resources are oil field in the state is on the Navajo reservation. Regions of both the Colorado Plateau in the northeast and the Basin and Range in the southwest are believed to have petroleum potential, but exploratory drilling has never yielded large finds, and much of Arizona remains unexplored. The next resource is Natural gas, With only a few producing wells and little new drilling activity, Arizona's natural gas production has declined to less than 100 million cubic feet per year from a peak of more than 2 billion cubic feet per year in 1990. Almost all of the natural gas consumed in Arizona comes from other states. More than two-thirds of that natural gas entering
Arizona is a beautiful place for anyone to live. Growing up in Phoenix has been quite the experience. I have had a few encounters with different animals such as snakes, scorpions, and coyotes. With mountains surrounding us all around it is hard to avoid these creatures. Each mountain has a different view to offer and they are the most unbelievable sites, especially when the sun is setting. The scenery in Arizona is something out of a book. It does get pretty hot in Arizona, but if you like the cold weather all you have to do is drive a few hours up north to experience snow in the winter and cooler temperatures in the summer. The most popular type of food in Arizona would have to be Mexican food. There is a variety of restaurants all around
The summer of 2016, my family decided to shake up our annual summer vacation by heading out west, and chose to go to Sedona, Arizona. Let me tell you, this place radiates beauty. If you've never heard of Sedona, I’ll give you some background real quick. The city IS a desert city. Everywhere you look there's just dirt or sand on the ground and lots of cacti. But the trait that distinguishes the city IS that it sits within a valley in the red rock. All around you stand mountains made of this fiery earth. During our stay there we hiked along many trails through the red rock to almost every tourist spot, some of which gave you a panoramic view of the mountains. The views appeared surreal and took my breath away. Yes, I could go on and on about the beauty of this city, but that's not quite what this story IS about. On this trip, my family and I got up close and personal with some areas of Sedona that one wouldn't call “tourist hotspots.” The town of Jerome is an old mining town built at the base of a mountain, that now has lots of shops and restaurants, and we decided to make this our next destination. So my dad plugged the town into his iPhone GPS (first mistake) and we headed out to reach our destination. Blue sky and deserted land rolled by as I stared out the window. Time seemed to slowly trail by and we did not see signs of the town anywhere. Then suddenly, the smooth asphalt turned to gravel, and immediately something seemed off. “Are you sure we’re going the right way??”
A Range of Outdoor Activities. Because of Arizona’s warm weather and striking views, its the perfect place to experience outdoor activities such as golf, swimming, trail walks, horseback riding, visiting parks and attractions, and balloon rides.
Phoenix is an amazing place to hike year-round if you are prepared. The Sonoran Desert has a charm of its own that can only be experienced out on the trail.
Colorado is a beautiful and historical state; the wide open plains, the glorious tall mountains, the history of its people that have shaped Colorado into what it is today. There is a lot to explore and learn when it comes to the Centennial State. Because of its history, Colorado is considered to be the meeting ground amongst three sections in the American West; the Atlantic Coast and Mississippi Valley, North and South, and Massachusetts and Virginia. These sections have shaped and developed the settlement and region in their own special ways.
In Las Vegas, Nevada, everything is bigger, brighter, and faster than in Columbus, Ohio. I was 13 years old when I went on my first trip out of my hometown of Columbus. Arriving in Las Vegas felt as though I was in a whole other world. The lights were bright, the weather was beautiful, and it appeared nobody ever went to sleep. The city was filled with so much life it was unlike anything I had ever seen before. There were tourists everywhere, Casino’s every 100 feet, and GoGo dancers or Chippendales on every corner. Las Vegas is the most exciting city in America.
New Mexico is a southwestern state and was admitted to the union on January 6, 1912. It is the 47th state and considered to be a mountain state. Its culture has been heavily influenced by the aboriginal people as well as colonists. It was home first to the Native Americans, which included the Apache, Navajo, and Pueblo people. It was taken over after the colonization of the Spanish in 1598. Thereafter, it became a part of Mexico and later a US territory. Following the Mexican-American War, it was made a state of North America. New Mexico has the highest number of Hispanics and 2nd highest number of Native Americans in its population. The cultural influences of these groups of people can be seen throughout the state, including on the state flag; the colors gold and scarlet, represent the royal standards of Spain. The sun symbol comes from the Pueblo tribes,
Unfortunately, people are a major threat to the picturesque scenery of the Mojave Desert. As people bring their off-road vehicles into the environment, they also bring their air pollution and trash. The trash that people bring in is, virtually, non-biodegradable – aluminum cans, paper waste, and plastic waste are all included. According to sciencing.com, authors of “Western North American Naturalists” notated that “After witnessing a tortoise eating a balloon, they noted that 178 new balloons blew into their Mojave study site over a nine-month period,” (Campbell). If there is this much of an influx of balloons in under a year’s time, one can only imagine what else is creeping into the Mojave Desert, endangering wildlife and the surrounding
When I thought of california I thought of sun, palm trees and warm weather. This is not one of those places. When I found out I was going to California, I packed a bunch of shorts. When I got to Petrolia I realized what a mistake I had made. Petrolia was not sunny and warm. For it was cold and dark where the hippies go to die and grow their weed.
Smuggling is also having a devastating environmental impact on the Sonoran Desert, where the O’odham have made their home for centuries. Thousands of vehicles – many stolen from Phoenix and Tucson – have been loaded with drugs and migrants and then driven across countless miles of the fragile desert that makes up most of the O’odham Reservation…more than 1,400 wrecked or abandoned vehicles were towed off the reservation in
It is amazing how some experiences stay so crisp in my memory, that if I were to close my eyes, I could almost swear that I was there right at that moment. It's as if my body can almost taste the sweet air, feel the cold, wet breeze on my skin, and recall the scent of the pine trees towering above our heads. Hiking in Payson, Arizona, after a snow storm is one of the best places I have ever visited in order to collect one of these memories. Payson is a great place to take the family dog hiking, but also you will be able to appreciate the beautiful landscape Payson has to offer, with it being conveniently located just a brief drive from the sweltering heat of the Desert Valley.

The state of New Mexico defines murder in the first degree as the killing of one person by another without a lawful justification or excuse. Any action resulting in death, which can be proven to have been willful, deliberate and premeditated; committed during the commission or attempt to commit a felony; or by an act so dangerous to the lives of others that it indicates a depraved mind and disregard for human life, is a capital felony (NM Stat § 30-2-1). Currently, capital felonies are subject to a sentence of life imprisonment, or a “true life imprisonment” sentence which provides no option for release or parole (NM Stat § 31-18-14). However, from 1979 to 2009, New Mexico carried a harsher set of punishments for first-degree murder; life in prison with the possibility of parole, or the death penalty.
